- FlyingAvatar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Sure the girl is hot and all, but as far as cheesy ads go, they're not even GOOD cheesy ads.
- AkiraXXX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Girl... has big boobs. Must... touch... big boobs. Must... register domain with... GoDaddy.com"
"What? Where am... Whew! I was hypnotized for a second by that stellar, highly-original advert, and strangely complelled to utilize their services."
God help our country. - aussiehuw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Meh, it's such a blatant PR stunt.
- Smokezz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And they get lots of publicity before the Superbowl... they gotta love that.
- FishyJoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Viral marketing at it's finest. People are such suckers.
- bubba9999, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I hope someone's feeding the ad agency who came up with the "disapproved" ads. They probably aren't making enough professionally to buy groceries.
- blueigloo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The final approved commercial has to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen. Should get her on the next video episode of Diggnation of course ;-)
- aqualung, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Come on you guys...that's funny stuff
- Remmy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The girl is Candice Michelle and she works for the World Wrestling Entertainment. She wears a lot more in those ads than she does on WWE programming.
- foxhoundadmin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1i'm a pretty down-to-earth guy. i'm not some die hard, born again christian, sudo-intellectual nut! even i don't think that first "steamy car wash" commercial should have made it on air. go daddy was just trying to either a. set their "standards" high or b. piss some censors off.
- rottenwomb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1viral marketing - refers to marketing techniques that seek to exploit pre-existing social networks to produce exponential increases in brand awareness, through viral processes similar to the spread of an epidemic. It is word-of-mouth delivered and enhanced online; it harnesses the network effect of the Internet and can be very useful in reaching a large number of people rapidly.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Since I can view these ads via the Internet, why would I care if I could or couldn't see them on TV? :
- BetaMark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This IS the ad campaign. Obviously not real. You'd know that if you watched C-SPAN. Also, Seattle98 etc said near the top that digg is supposed to be one big commercial. That makes me very sad. The idea of a construct for news regulated by the users is intended to decommercialize and bring us just the information. Thats what makes digg so great.
- talkingtent, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I could swear this page is a duplicate.....
- hordak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0> What is GoDaddy?
Watch the godaddy proceeding ad (which I LOVE!) to find out. :) - csimpkins, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0These commercials suck balls. Please let this be the end of this GoDaddy BS.
- breakneckridge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Marketing Marketing Marketing. Digg is turning into one giant commercial.
- bloodyValentine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1those commercials are just dumb the girl is not even that hot.
- sQPha7e, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1The FCC sucks... Down with Censorship... Sex Sells... End Of Story
- drycounty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, this is just so great to see my fees paying for 30 seconds of complete idiocy. Anyone know of any registrars/hosts that offer similar services that I can go to right now?
I'd like to leave prior to the ad showing on TV. - Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Those commercials are awful.
- Tobey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Don't blame the FCC. Blame the PTC and all of the other anti-television groups that threaten to sue the FCC if it doesn't do what they say.
- h4lofourt33n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The commercials were slightly amusing, however, I did enjoy the countdown bumper at the begning of the commercials. Very cool. Still digging because I hate the censorship board.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://pictureshq.net/albums/candice_michelle/04_lrg.sized.jpg
Haha, Google Images is risque-er.
http://images.google.com/images?q=Candice%20Michelle - foxhoundadmin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I have seen her naked."
lol. so immature, but funny. - diafel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, I'm glad digg users don't fall for this marketing ploy. "SEE THE AD THE MAN DOESNT WANT YOU TO SEE!" Truly lame and tiresome, but unfortunately most americans and geeks who can't find better porn will eat this up.
- kalphegor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0What is GoDaddy?
- skwirlinator, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If thats what 14 yo heterosexual male get now, I want a time machine cause I feel really happy now that I watched thos videos!
- 5blocksfree, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Who'd have thought that Go-Daddy's target market was the 14-year-old heterosexual male?
- mouthster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0drycounty I suggest dreamhost.com .. tell em jlrdesign sent you
- mouthster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0GoDaddy sucks, and so do their commercials. I almost threw up in my mouth when Alex was talking about showing ALL the commercials on the next Diggnation. Yeah dude.. way to put all 3 inches of Bob Parsons in your mouth and blow.
- drycounty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Still digging because I hate the censorship board."
um, yeah. Give me 2.5 million dollars for 30 seconds of your time, and I'll see about that "censorship".
This has nothing to do with censorship. It's all a P-L-O-Y to bring the masses to Go Daddy.
Again, I ask the question -- any good registrars/hosts out there that Diggers recommend?
I'm sick of having my fees go to this extraneous, trite, exploitative "fun" in the name of picking up customers. I'm a fan of a good commercial, just the same as the next guy, but literally -- watching Bob Parsons, or whoever, gamble with the fees that I've paid to do this is completely crass. Give me back my $$$ -- I don't want to have paid for this. - wileys, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why are people talking about these completely cheesy adds by this crap company in Arizona that treats it's customers like complete morons and rips them off daily. And it's just getting worse.
Do you want a company that spends millions on ---Super Bowl Ads---??? Or TECH SUPPORT ! Or at least stop blackmailing customers to pay for these completely moronic commercials...
You don't even get it.... this guy Bob is insulting your intelligence and laughing all the way to the bank !!!!!
If he's crapping on customers he's had for years... imagine how much you mean to him after you got bamboozled into buying a domain.... don't worry , when something screws up and you call tech support ON YOUR DIME ... which is really SALES they'll make up the money somehow...
Here are some more great godaddy links ... http://www.godaddy-sucks.com - nomdeplume, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I agree with "Those commercials are awful".
Also, in the "Caterer" ad they call the / a "backslash". Might have to move my domain to a different registrar, just for that. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0That commercial ran for 1 minute and 47 seconds?!?
Something's not right. - chazzy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Or you can get it straight from the horse's mouth ...
https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/superbowl06/timeline.asp?se=%2B&ci=5478 - willhaney, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Duds
- ifonly, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Or you could just go to Bob Parsons official blog (founder of godaddy) to view the videos and history behind them :)
http://www.bobparsons.com/SuperBowlAdIsApproved.html - foxhoundadmin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0first story can't produce a proper title, second story can't produce a proper link. go figure.
- EyeDye, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=godaddy
- seattle98104, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0^ i think that's the point of digg.
- papayiya, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0seriously, godaddy is a terrible host -- don't believe the hype
- utch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0http://digg.com/links/Go_Daddy_Will_have_Superbowl_Add_
- Tobey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Yikes, that ad isn't that great.
- Opelious, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Damn that was boring. If anything, I'm glad they won't air it.
- viruz, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0Unfortunately, no matter how risque their ads are, it won't make the product any better.
