- briguymaine, on 11/05/2008, -3/+31Gmail is the new Obama.
- marshallpeck, on 11/05/2008, -0/+19Lots of gmail stories today
- osarusan, on 11/05/2008, -0/+11The iGoogle GMail module doesn't allow you to click links in the emails... it seems crippled. You have to go into full GMail to get all the functionality.
- coachbombay, on 11/05/2008, -0/+10I've been using RTM for about a year and it's the best free task management out there that I've seen. http://www.rememberthemilk.com/services/gmail/
I don't use the gmail add on, but it does have some pretty handy features for those interested. - themisanthrope, on 11/05/2008, -2/+9Why not just turn iGoogle (with a GMail module) into your "main hub" and use one of many the To-Do lists - from Google or not - that are available?
- jggube, on 11/04/2008, -0/+7That is an excellent feature. Now I use Gmail on my mobile device so it's nice to have an integrated task list in it so I don't have to use another application, and the benefits of it being saved online so I can access it from any computer is awesome.
- digifuzz, on 11/05/2008, -0/+4i get my gmail pushed to my blackberry.
- sputnike, on 11/05/2008, -0/+4Not so much 3 gmail articles on the frontpage - more 3 gmail articles on the front page within the same hour. Hey give the people what they want :)
There's nothing wrong with the Digg algorithm... remember when Apple released the iPhone? The front page was full of iPhone stories. Mostly saying the same stuff... if you don't like whats on the front page, just filter it out! - usbserial, on 11/05/2008, -0/+3Also you can't chat (Google Talk or AIM) from iGoogle... can you?
- chompysweat, on 11/05/2008, -1/+4How can i get that on my gmail?
- wastern, on 11/05/2008, -0/+3I'd like to get Zenbe lists on there. Unless something has changed RTM charges to get iPhone app access (you need their pro service)
- neelbak, on 11/05/2008, -0/+3Try Nuevasync to push google email, contacts, and calendar to iPhone. I've been using it for a couple months now with no issues. (http://www.nuevasync.com/)
- foofoobee, on 11/05/2008, -0/+2I've been using Remember The Milk for about a year now, and find it to be one of the most full-featured and cleanest to-do lists out there. My wife and I can share tasks from our individual lists with each other, which is a powerful feature (along with many others). But I agree with the comments above - I keep the widget in my iGoogle page and don't really see the need for Gmail to be my main hub.
- priegog, on 11/05/2008, -2/+4I don't get it... Is IMAP not enough?
- RedS0x, on 11/05/2008, -0/+2Notice how he said
"What I really want is Push Gmail on my iPhone."
not
"What I really want is Push Gmail on my G1." - TimmyGUNZ, on 11/05/2008, -0/+2I would just be happy with an official Google Calendar and Reader app for the iPhone. iCal is useless on the iPhone since I can't view subscribed calendars via MobileMe Push.
- DjArcadian, on 11/05/2008, -0/+2Works fine for me. If it's a large attachment it will take a while to upload. There's also a limit of 20 MB's. As soon as Google integrates Gear with Gmail I'm sure sending large attachments will be easier.
- Joomal, on 11/05/2008, -1/+3"Transfer money from TD" - yay for Toronto Dominion Bank :)
- d0ctaew, on 12/30/2008, -0/+2Yeah blackberry gmail push FTW
- seenxu, on 11/05/2008, -0/+2both gmail and rtm rock!
- billygreen23, on 11/05/2008, -0/+2Yes, there is a Google Talk gadget now.
- megamod, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1OH...that makes sense. I've noticed how in google labs you can put gadgets in your gmail page but I just didn't think much of it.
This is pretty cool...imagine the possibilities!
...I've stumped myself again I don't know what else it could be used for, help me out here? - visarya, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1please make mozilla thunderbird Lightning plugin work with gmail todo
- kraftj, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1I'm glad Google didn't try to do it themselves. RTM is awesome.
- bjs3171, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1anyone else, over the last few days, not been able to send anything with any sort of attachments over gmail?
- carterx, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1Zenbe.com has this already and has a fully working app for the iphone/ipod touch that integrates with your email account.
http://lists.zenbe.com/welcome - cesclaveria, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1lots of new features also
- starsky51, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1> it supports instant messaging (including Google Talk and AIM ’s networks)
It's also possible to talk to your Yahoo and MSN contacts through GMail, with a bit of fiddling: http://www.techlifeweb.com/2006/12/how-to-use-goog ...
I hardly bother to fire up Pidgin anymore. - yahoofrom, on 11/06/2008, -0/+1Obama is beta?
- mindofkennedy, on 11/06/2008, -0/+1I think this is really neat and a superb idea!! Am also excited to see what other cool things other come up with now its been opened up!!
- TigerStar337, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1Sweet!!!
- kalkin, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1agreed. gmail just got a whole lot better. i love my gmail.
what a great article. - clsslc, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1Read the article to find out.
- zoydberg, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1http://blog.mail2web.com/2008/07/get-free-push-ema ... .
Still free and works great. Mail2Web - madcap, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1You've been able to install a Todo list application onto gmail with firefox through remember the milk for over a year already. I don't think is any big news.
- DjArcadian, on 11/05/2008, -0/+1I've been using Remember the Milk for a while now. They have a Firefox add-on which is similar must has additional features that allow you to link tasks to emails. It's made my life a LOT easier at work. I'll welcome the day when Gmail gadgets are more robust.
- jmarkham1, on 11/05/2008, -0/+0The to-do list is an excellent new addition feature to Gmail. I recently got gmail and I access it on my mobile device when it's not convenient to be at a computer. I live by my to-do lists so it's nice to have an integrated task list in Gmail so I don't have to open or use another application. A benefit of the list being saved online is almost like a life saver for me, since my lists are like my life raft in the sea of life. I can access one, or multiple to-do lists from any computer on top of accessing it from my phone, which is awesome in my book! I feel this new feature will gain a new respect for Gmail since it seems like the company is starting to think the way people are thinking and needing to be maintained by lists now days. More and more people are feeling overwhelmed with many aspects of life and constantly on the run, and with a list being right at your fingertips, you won't lose the paper list like I have many of times in the past, and at the same time feeling like I am going to lose my mind! I am in full support of this new feature.
- Hikefu, on 11/05/2008, -0/+0I love the addition, but with a setup consisting of a RTM gadget accompanying Labels, Google Docs, and Google Chat, Gmail's left side is now cluttered. Moving Google Chat to the right helps, but still, Labels and RTM dominate my left side to the extent my Docs are not readable without scrolling. Granted, this is on a laptop.
The extension, however, puts RTM on the far right (and to the right) of the right-side Google Chat box, and makes more sense for me at the moment. When the ability to move all addon gadgets to the right and with some form of flexibility in their location (and scalability?), I'll definitely make a change.
All in all, Google is making great strides in turning Gmail into what could be a wonderful startpage. I like the idea of Google Labs in Gmail, adding wanted features perhaps not ready for primetime available for use so that we, the enduser, can determine it's ultimate fate.
Thanks Google :) - ShoeSh1ne, on 11/05/2008, -0/+0With no AIM support.
- andrewrjones, on 11/13/2008, -0/+0I can see me spending even more time on gmail....
- briguymaine, on 11/05/2008, -2/+2ugh, no G1 in Maine yet.
- nrox653, on 11/06/2008, -1/+1Not made by Google? Rotten baloney!
/stupid phrase I made up in 2 secs - nurbsenvi, on 11/05/2008, -4/+3G1 looks so ugly... if iPhone is Armani suit G1 is a Walmart cardigan.
- BnafetS, on 11/05/2008, -2/+1The integration of Gmail with remeberthemilk is really nice. More info can be found here:
