- sinfony, on 08/20/2008, -4/+55Why spend a bunch of time hacking around Gmail for to-do lists? Did Remember the Milk kill your family?
- wallywallywoo, on 08/20/2008, -1/+27But if things that you have to do, don't come in emails, then you end up having to email your self. Which is doing it wrong.
- RandomEyes, on 08/20/2008, -1/+25i just tie different strings around my fingers to remember my to-do list. I also use an abacus for math equations
- Sererena, on 08/20/2008, -0/+19I wish Google would just add a todo list with Google Calendar. Why haven't they done it yet? There were rumours of it's implementation since 2006..
- svivian, on 08/20/2008, -1/+19Or, you could just write stuff on a piece of paper. Honestly, way quicker than any electronic method.
- bitt3n, on 08/20/2008, -0/+17Sure it helped me remember the milk, but did it help me remember that my loved ones and my faithful dog were all fatally lactose intolerant? DID IT?
No, it did not. - Jennica, on 08/20/2008, -3/+19Great, now we're killing trees?
- Nouman6, on 08/20/2008, -1/+11I prefer remember the milk:

Pretty kick ass to-do-list app - Laughto, on 08/20/2008, -0/+9Paper is the way to go if you don't own a smart-phone that syncs that stuff. Nothing worse than relying on a computer for a to do list in the real world (believe me I tried)
- PlanR, on 08/20/2008, -1/+8Dang, all this time I been using pencil and paper.
- IDIGTHEDIGG, on 08/20/2008, -9/+15You had the 1st comment on a Kevin Rose story that you knew would reach the Front Page, and you waste it on that???
- Greengoo, on 08/20/2008, -4/+8Hey, two of my friends died from Remembering the Milk...
- KennySim, on 08/20/2008, -0/+4Zenbe Lists FTW!
http://lists.zenbe.com/ - RustySparks, on 08/20/2008, -1/+5are you masturbating?
- 88chrisb, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3This is okay for Gmail to-do stuff...but for general stuff, I'll just stick to paper and my iGoogle homepage.
- steelopus, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3"GMailâ„¢ BETA"
- TheMightyDane, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3What's wrong with your own hand ?
It's always with you.. Quite handy...
get it ? get it ? - dnes, on 08/20/2008, -3/+6These comments suck.
- inactive, on 08/20/2008, -0/+3All this time I've been using my own brain!
- HillerMylife, on 08/20/2008, -0/+2I've tried a number of to-do lists and I always end up just abandoning them.
- chokeaduck, on 08/20/2008, -1/+3I was one of the first posts as well, I and I was dug down for simply stating that the new Digg extension must be running fine, as this popped within 20 seconds of submission. Folks, this isn't a competition, contrary to popular belief, Kevin Rose is a human, we can both digg, bury, and comment on his submissions without having to vie for "FIRST" rights.
- foomojive, on 08/20/2008, -0/+2"Things" for mac. Greatest to-do app ever. Really captures the GTD concept and keeps it really simple.
- adrames, on 08/20/2008, -0/+2Awesome app. Way better than hacking together a system using Gmail. It also syncs with many popular phones, although, not my Palm Centro yet :-(
- chadsterrr, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1Scratch paper + pencil>
Why reinvent the wheel? - Neo139, on 08/21/2008, -0/+1http://gmailblog.blogspot.com/2008/08/we-feel-your ...
- NinjaBoy, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1Gmail needs to add a task FEATURE. This is a good work around, but at the end of that day that is what it is, a work around.
- OfNumbers, on 08/20/2008, -1/+2I'll stick to sticky notes.
- bs0l, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1Who's Kevin Rose?
- exaakax, on 08/20/2008, -4/+5eh, yet another tweak...
- innovaciones, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1anyone use GTD methodology?
- YodaJones, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1What an old fashioned paradigm. Everything is a calendar event, even to-do tasks.
- apoc06, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1most people cant stand sitting there typing information into their phones, since the majority of consumers dont carry smartphones.
- Anator, on 08/20/2008, -1/+2http://todoist.com
Its simple, clean and "just works". Web-based todo lists offer lots of advantages over hand written notes. e.g. recurring tasks, ability to access it in multiple places. (These days I am more likely to be around computers than pens AND paper). - EnderMB, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1Similarly I cannot see a use for To-Do lists. Why would I spend so long organising my life on a computer when I could get off the computer and actually live it?
- Elranzer, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1Doomsan achieved his goal... you fell for it.
- xamox, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1Install the remember the milk gmail firefox extension, it will *DESTROY* any other to do manager you have by far. It integrates with google calender and gmail. It's basically what I wanted in gmail for the past 4 years.
- liljay2k, on 08/20/2008, -0/+1Sticky Sticky notes stick stickingly to sticky sticks.
- mccune, on 08/20/2008, -1/+2@Jennica,
Trees are a renewable resource. You can plant new trees and they grow back up pretty quickly. Meanwhile, all those shiny, latest fad, smart phones will become e-waste when their owners have grown bored with them. In this case, yes, killing trees is actually the better choice. - SSUK, on 08/20/2008, -1/+1Or will they stick to you?
- shintostar, on 08/20/2008, -0/+0The Labs features aren't too useful, but Superstars and Custom Searches are something I really like. Hope they bring it to the official UI.
- inactive, on 08/20/2008, -1/+1Yes, I don't think it is useful
- EnderMB, on 08/20/2008, -3/+3In all honesty I do not see a need for To-Do lists. Most phones from the past 5 years have a calendar function and that works just fine. If not, the rest of us on this planet either use our brains or a piece of paper.
- harryche, on 01/11/2009, -0/+0Thanks, that's great!
There is another nice web app specifically designed for tracking goals and todo lists, and time tracking, etc, it is called GoalsOnTrack.com. It's free at http://www.goalsontrack.com. - dfsjdkflasjk, on 08/20/2008, -2/+2Jennica, thanks for giving me a reason to waste the most amount of paper possible.
- jibone, on 08/20/2008, -6/+2This is good,... but what if Gmail goes down?,.. Oh that will never happen :)
- 88chrisb, on 08/20/2008, -3/+1 No...but I see what you did there.
- sinfony, on 08/20/2008, -5/+3How can you even get those words out with...
No. Too easy. - bigdickensfan, on 08/20/2008, -7/+4i thought this was about a serial killer who plotted his murders out with google tools.
...anybody else? - divyamistry, on 08/20/2008, -9/+5I used both, stars and quick links, but never thought of this. This is quite cool!
- chokeaduck, on 08/20/2008, -15/+11Thanks for sharing this, I'm going to have to jump right on taking advantage of the superstars, I had no idea. Gmail already works great for me, I'm happy that I can now make it even more efficient. The new Digg Extension for FF is working great, this popped up within seconds of your submission.
