- 8bit_Hero, on 01/23/2008, -12/+231I read Gizmodo. I thought they were being taken down due to that CES incident.
- Klarth, on 01/23/2008, -8/+114I was hoping Gizmodo was saying goodbye forever.
My expectations were, alas, too lofty. - davidrools, on 01/23/2008, -1/+53It was't util halfway through the article that I oticed that "N"
- themarq, on 01/23/2008, -2/+36Gizmodo and Gizmondo are not the same thing.
- mikehill33, on 01/23/2008, -14/+39Wish it was "GIZMODO" instead....LOL.
- SirBotchness, on 01/23/2008, -1/+25Just wishful thinking. too bad :(
- monkeyrun, on 01/23/2008, -7/+29I was hoping Gizmodo's dead, now I am disappointed.
- Topher06, on 01/23/2008, -3/+22I think Gizmodo is a really poorly designed website. Its image galleries are always extremely wonky (professional term) and the site overal looks to be developed by a million monkeys on crack that thought they would try out making their own PHP based blog site and failed miserably, but insist on keeping the site as crappy as possible . There are much better sites that have almost the exact same content anyways.
- truspect0r, on 01/23/2008, -10/+28Wow I care.
- geekboyo, on 01/23/2008, -1/+18Says the dweeb bitching aboutpeople on the INTARWEB who are bitching about the INTARWEB!!
- mlvassallo, on 01/23/2008, -1/+15Aww... got my hopes up.
- inactive, on 01/23/2008, -0/+14I'd prefer Gizmodo to die TBH
- monkeyrun, on 01/23/2008, -0/+12and on top of that I gave them one more unique visitor.
- DiggzDE, on 01/23/2008, -0/+11Um... Do you even know what this article is talking about? Cuz if you do, then I must be really confused.
- davidrools, on 01/23/2008, -1/+12wtf is gizmoNdo, anyway?
ok thanks wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gizmondo - truspect0r, on 01/23/2008, -3/+13Yup.
- zioxide, on 01/23/2008, -2/+12dammit, i read it as Gizmodo first too..
too bad it's not gizmodo that's dead, they suck ass. - digitalhippie, on 01/23/2008, -2/+11Where they ever really "alive"?
- TheGreatBelow, on 01/23/2008, -1/+10I wish it was GIZMODO that was going to die.
- lornefs, on 01/23/2008, -0/+8Yeah, that was pretty stupid.
- elvenseven, on 01/23/2008, -2/+10Gizmodo reporting Gizmondo news, thats so funny hahaha, im laughing so hard.
As usual, you suck at making jokes. - MavRevMatt, on 01/23/2008, -2/+9***** Gizmodo.
- MavRevMatt, on 01/23/2008, -0/+7Plus the 200 people who read this wrong.
- VaporBro, on 01/23/2008, -5/+12The Gizmondo sucks, Gizmodo sucks balls...This was known.
Please Die Gizmodo. Just; please. Go away.
Nothing to see here. Move along. - Nerfdude, on 01/23/2008, -6/+13i assume the ONLY reason gizmodo considers this newsworthy is because "gizmondo" looks a lot like "gizmodo". why don't they go ruin some more presentations instead of flooding digg with this tripe?
buried as gizmodospam. - DiggzDE, on 01/23/2008, -2/+9I think I am going to bury this article for being inaccurate simply because so many people didn't understand what they were talking about.
- xoineg, on 01/23/2008, -0/+6Who cares?
- epilonious, on 01/23/2008, -0/+6The Gizmondo was a strange handheld uber device of some sort, the conceiver/financier/CEO of which is generally considered to be a prat of the largest order by at least 20 communities (Heck, even car-jocks hate the guy because he wrecked a Ferrari Enzo).
More importantly, it is almost, but not quite, completely unlike Gizmodo, a gadget blog.
I may not have ventured outside much today, but at least I can detect the presence of an extra 'n' and not make myself out to be a massive ***** idiot while calling other people massive ***** idiots. - lornefs, on 01/23/2008, -1/+6You don't have to yell. Oh yeah and STFU!
- JudgeMonkey, on 01/24/2008, -0/+4You had to block the site? You couldn't just... not go to it?
- jlungu, on 01/23/2008, -1/+5but it was supposed to have such great games ... like, Pocket Ping-Pong 2005 and Sticky Balls ...
/sarcasm - bigteebo, on 01/23/2008, -0/+3When he was younger, was he proclaiming that his Atari Jaguar was superior to the other gaming consoles out there?
- rarson, on 01/23/2008, -2/+5The only good thing about Gizmondo was the tawdry drama that seemed to get increasingly more complex and convoluted as the story of Stefan Eriksson's wrecked Enzo (okay, turns out, it wasn't really HIS Enzo) unfolded. What started as a simple car crash turned into a twisted tale of drunk driving, street racing, endless lying, police impersonation, embezzlement, and grand theft auto. Really, if you read the wikipedia entry on him ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefan_Eriksson ), it's no surprise he did all these crazy things.
I used to visit wreckedexotics.com regularly so that I could keep track of the story as it unfolded. If anyone is interested in seeing how this story snowballed into absolute absurdity, I suggest you check it out:
http://www.wreckedexotics.com/special/enzo/ - KingBabi, on 01/23/2008, -0/+3The original story in wired would make for a great movie. I mean seriously, who wouldn't pay to see a movie about the whole debacle?
- Thorpe, on 01/23/2008, -11/+14For those who missed it:
http://gizmodo.com/343348/confessions-the-meanest- ... - truspect0r, on 01/23/2008, -0/+3It's gamed, thats why.
- MadHermit, on 01/23/2008, -0/+3Too bad it wasn't Gizmodo being taken down. Their poor journalism and lame-o pranks have lead me to bury anything I see posted by them. Buried for being Gizmodo.
- haloevo, on 01/24/2008, -0/+2Damn! Thought it was Gizmodo going down too! I was confused as hell for a second there because I thought the website was doing a stellar job.
Glad to hear it's only that *****-ass gizmondo..... - yifanlu94, on 01/23/2008, -0/+2Darn my bad literacy skills
- rarson, on 01/23/2008, -0/+2Yeah, because being forced to watch ads just to play games was sure to make the handhold a success!
- Asidic, on 01/23/2008, -0/+2Thing is, Apple already sucks, so that's not necessarily something to worry about.
Preparing for digg down in 3, 2, 1... - Thorpe, on 01/23/2008, -0/+1Certainly was for a quite a notable tech blog.
- inactive, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1It's just something I've noticed with liberals. Everytime something becomes successful it is evil. Example: Walmart, Windows. Do you notice only independent movies get good reviews from critics. It's like you have to be small and unsuccessful to matter in the mind of a liberal.
- natedouglas, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1An Enzo being repossessed. Even better.
- JudgeMonkey, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1the fact that one of their flagship games was a lawn mowing game didn't help either.
- jlmillstein, on 01/23/2008, -1/+2Stupid, but enjoyable nonetheless.
- hackiavelli, on 01/28/2008, -0/+1It's far easier blocking it in hosts than checking the URL of every link I click on for eternity.
- smek2, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1"I read Gizmodo." -- Mee to. Imagine my disappointment after i read the article.
- crazlunatic, on 01/24/2008, -0/+1I clicked on this only because I read Gizmodo
