- zlatinb, on 05/05/2008, -0/+1The title is a little eek, but there are some clever tips in there.
- synystar, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2I must have missed the "tips" section.
- steakfry, on 05/05/2008, -0/+1Interesting point, but it doesn't make the IMO necessary distinction between information and knowledge. If it's information I want, I still think it would be easier to simply look up the tennis results when I want/need the information. Otherwise I'm loading my brain with information that's not [yet] relevant or useful, and may never be.
On the flip side, constantly having trains of thought interrupted by a stream of not-yet-useful information could interfere with the acquisition of information/knowledge that *is* currently relevant.
I'm not sure this concept is a win. - Testiculese, on 05/05/2008, -0/+1The problem I see with these alert services is that it excuses you from having to think, research and such. You're spoon-fed your information, and that's not very conducive to mental clarity.
- leonardoty, on 05/05/2008, -0/+1So, you're learning useless crap without having to do anything.
- synystar, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1Well yeah, if you're subscribing to the "useless crap" alert. You could opt for the not so useless ones as well.
- JayCruz, on 05/06/2008, -0/+2I'm quoting what somebody commented on the blog, "Uh... GOOGLE ALERTS". Bad article.
- mintblogger, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1Setting the right filter in alerts is what is needed. People create such filters that brings junk to inbox.
- AccuraCast, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1Didn't need to read the whole article. The description line says it all. USE ALERT SERVICES!
- rjc5056, on 05/06/2008, -0/+1where's my brain download port a la Matrix. It's 2008, dammit!
