- StevenBullen, on 10/05/2008, -1/+47http://digg.com/tech_news/Locked_Out_of_Your_Gmail ... - Already front page.
- rolf, on 10/06/2008, -6/+45I've never had any problems with my Honda, therefore Hondas never break down.
See the fallacy? - CreativeGuy, on 10/05/2008, -5/+40Story makes front page of Digg. Someone writes a nearly identical article and has ***** buddy submit to digg. LAME!
- Solkre, on 10/06/2008, -2/+30Freaking sweet, I didn't know Google made Hondas.
In for 3! - MavTheMaverick, on 10/05/2008, -19/+40I've never had any problems iwth my gmail.
- inactive, on 10/06/2008, -1/+22im gonna check my gmail from my new honda
- MrAdventure, on 10/06/2008, -4/+24Wait, you mean Gmail HAS customer support?
- inactive, on 10/06/2008, -2/+15***** the Sensationalist. Quit digging this worthless site. They provide zero content and do nothing but encourage people to be ***** to employees at just about any business that doesn't give you a handjob when you pay for their product/service.
- spectxim, on 10/06/2008, -3/+14Buried for bad copy cat attempt.
- Charlotte_Web, on 10/06/2008, -0/+10Blogspam, anyway.
Here's the original article:
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10/05/business/05digi. ... - inactive, on 10/06/2008, -0/+7popper is just as bad as babyman for this kind of duplicate *****
- betasp, on 10/06/2008, -0/+7It is just more Gawker spam. I now label all Gawker sites as spam when I see them and would encourage everyone to do the same.
- wintersleep, on 10/06/2008, -2/+7Hence, the ever-resilient "beta" slapped right on the logo. Still love my Gmail.
- inactive, on 10/06/2008, -1/+6Was your Honda free?
See the reason why we should stop using car/computer analogies? - takamichinaku, on 10/05/2008, -7/+11More importantly they dont have support for adsense.
- swhite76, on 10/06/2008, -0/+4It's just Gawker pointing to the same NY Times piece that already got dugg. Buried for duplication.
- n3demonic, on 10/06/2008, -1/+5Can someone tell me the ending of this sentence? It cut off when it was getting exciting...
- Murdats, on 10/06/2008, -0/+4all I use is google docs, and thats why I have google gears.
- StevenBullen, on 10/06/2008, -2/+5If so many people mention burying this... how does it front page. I hate this digg system sometimes.
- inactive, on 10/06/2008, -0/+3The uncensored version:
Problem with customer service?... Ask for a refund. Oh waiIIIIOOOOAAHAAHAHAHAHA BLOOPITY BLOOPITY BLOOPITY HO HO HO AAARRRGGGGG!!! BOYP! BOYP!
Now, aren't you sorry you asked? - gluecode, on 10/06/2008, -0/+3Google makes money from Gmail through advertising. It's not making beta money.
- Solkre, on 10/06/2008, -0/+3You have car insurance in case I pull out in front of you :)
Dammit I have to renew mine soon :( - Atomic1fire, on 10/07/2008, -0/+2t... ITS OVER 9000!!!!!
- Atomic1fire, on 10/07/2008, -0/+2I would recommend Email via your Own server if you want reliability, after all, its your data, and you can keep it maintained and up as long as you want it up.
or via ISP (your internet provider) since they usually offer a email service and will show reliability if they want to keep the customer. - EBFoxbat, on 10/06/2008, -3/+5No worries, it's a still beta ...riiiight.
- inactive, on 10/06/2008, -2/+4What if your MS Office is attacked by a virus, and that so very important report is due by 3pm?
You're *****! - xB4R7x, on 10/06/2008, -15/+17I like turtles.
- housecor, on 10/06/2008, -0/+2Google isn't in this business for charity. This is a profitable venture. Thus, customer service isn't too much to ask.
- inactive, on 10/06/2008, -0/+2Since this is Digg, I'll guess that it had something to do with George Bush, $700 billion, Sarah Palin, or lolcats.
- natertots, on 10/06/2008, -0/+2yea. anyone that relies on gmail much should go back read the agreement terms. They can remove your account and wipe all of you email for no reason, and you can't do ***** about it.
- revjustin2, on 10/06/2008, -0/+2I have to agree. Most of the crap I read on that site is some person with overly high expectations complaining that they didn't get something for free. Usually, there are some glaring omissions in the person's story regarding their own liability and/or responsibility. For example, all these people bitching about problems that had fail to say what their problem was. Assuming the problem was caused by Google (or Pizza Hut or whoeever) is a pretty big leap. Having working in tech support and customer service for more than 10 years, I am here to tell you that user error and/or a misunderstanding of what the product or service is a rather large chunk of reported "problems".
That all being said, corporate America is out to screw you for every dollar you posses, so I am not trying to defend them. However, not every person you deal with or even every business you deal with is trying to bend you over. It's usually the larger companies. - Namakemono, on 10/06/2008, -0/+2t...
- FUR10N, on 10/06/2008, -1/+3NOOOOOOOO!!!!
seriously thought, who gives a ***** - Killroy1971, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1Simple - Set your security question and use a second gmail account (or other email service that you regularly check). No customer service needed.
- gluecode, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1Yes because they make money from Gmail advertising.
- inactive, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1Comment dugg down.
(but really up) - Vergil117, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1When do people use customer service anymore? Every issue I have I just search for the answer on the internet its a lot easier and quicker.
- ramsinks.com, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1tech support for a free service..
lol - amoeba, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1Make sure you enter a 'secret question' in your account settings AND an alternative email address.
That way, if you're locked out, it'll be a whole lot easier to get back in again.
It's in Settings > Accounts > Google Account Settings - theratdotus, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1they reset my password once, i thought my account was hijacked, between emailing their bots, i got fixed within 30 minutes.
- Neo139, on 10/07/2008, -0/+1old
- mdman, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1How can someone say that loosing gmail is like being banished from the internet?
Jeeze.. give me a break. its a free email service, one of many - gluecode, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1My wife's email was locked out a year ago without reason. We tried contacting Gmail customer support several times via email. We only received canned emails that could not help us. Until now, she is unable to use her email account and had to create a new account.
- chriskzoo, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1Who offers phone support for a Beta, duh!
- inactive, on 10/06/2008, -1/+2Solkre +1 woot reference.
- inactive, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1***** the consumerist and their pointless bitch bitch articles about every ***** thing. Go steal some pepsi and complain when you get caught.
- revjustin2, on 10/06/2008, -0/+1Dude, why the hippie hate? Ever hear of the WELL?
Hippies, by a rule, are not tech haters. Some hippies are just for the reasons you espoused, but they are young and will get over it in the next 3 years or so. -
