- Switch22, on 10/12/2007, -4/+23Sweet! Now I Can Watch Felix The Cat For Free Just Like I've Always Wanted!
- Aurarch, on 10/12/2007, -1/+17it's like the bargain bin at your local Wal-Mart
cept no one wants anything from this one :| - TenebrousX, on 10/12/2007, -4/+18Original by 9 minutes. This one has a much better headline anyway
- Destinatus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14How did this get to the front page? people must've dugg it before they saw how crappy the content was.
- WrecksTXP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13More like the discontinued bargain bin at the dollar store.
- BlackSheepx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Aaand time to remind everybody that you can download google video as .avi's
http://1024k.de/bookmarklets/video-bookmarklets.html - theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13No Call For Help Damnit.
- mvanhorn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Wow pathetic I cannot even find one thing I would want to watch for free
- dustko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I can safely say I don't want to watch a video called "Undressing My Mother" :p
- deviant76, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8More like the videos you find in your typical interstate truck stop
- TenebrousX, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10How can you say you don't want to watch a video called "Undressing My Mother"?!?
- oOLiquidNightOo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8with hot google titles like "undressing my mother - the documentry" at a .99 price point (now free), i can't believe people aren't tearing this up.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=75348835719682537&q=type%3Asv_documentarychannel - totorototoro, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8wow, something for everyone on there. not really.
- truebullfan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6wow free! to bad all those videos are crap! Who the hell would ever buy poor quality and crap content from google video store.
- Protonz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6When you click on a video, you get a banner for a sponsor at the top. This may be a smart way to test the service, I was so bored with the 'Extreme Sports: Adrenalize' video that I checked out the Burger King commercial...
- ers35, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Thank you burger king!
- Charlotte_Web, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Wow, I never realized that Hercules was gay...
- Atomic1fire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4the site archive.com comes to mind it has loony toons public domain stuff and loonytoons.com has cartoons.
or if you dont want to look http://www.archive.org/details/classic_cartoons - sabster, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5yeah seriously these are all lame i wouldnt even waste my time anyway. i thought the extremem sports one looked good except it was the cheesiest extreme video ive ever seen looks like it was made in the 80s
- greggish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'm watching the documentary on Bruce Haack. This guy was doing some very interesting things with electronic music long before it was popular. It's pretty interesting.
http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-9212841979724917797&q=type%3Asv_documentarychannel - cardinale, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I have never seen such a perfect collection of things that I would never want to watch. Reminds me of a hotel video rental collection in a small town in Iowa!!!!
A winner ---- "Judge Wapner's Animal Court - Special Collection Part 2"
CHARLIE ROSE???? How do they get off charging for something that is on PBS? Public Broadcasting Service mean anything to anyone? I am not sure what the exact percentage of their budget comes from Federal government, but you should not charge people to watch something they already paid for! - meatshoes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I thought that title was wholly metaphorical...
O.o - MalDON, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Maybe one of the old kung fu movies would be good, but I'm watching 24 which I got for free. And it's higher quality.
- thenativeraver, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html
Don't forget you can also re-encode it to pretty much anything too.
I'll be getting these felix the cat episodes just for nostalgia. - ngageguy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Aside from the cartoons, I can't believe this is any kind of bonus. These are horrible choices! I would rather get something from the bin at Wal-Mart
- bedouin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The Haack documentary is interesting.
- danieltalsky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Seriously, you'd think the almighty google could come up with SOMETHING better than Charlie Rose reruns and CSI. I would have paid two dollars long ago if I had been able to find anything worth watching. I'd love to see an aggregate site with the best of the longer google videos. Looks like people came up with all of... 3? here on digg.
- terminalpariah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That was definitely NOT the Hercules theme song I heard when I was a kid! I am so furious right now!!!!!!!!!!!!
No seriously, that's annoying. - danmanx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm watching some old old old movie called Dead Man Walk...hey, it's free...
BTW, I didn't see a download link...so doh.... - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The original digg text is inaccurate. The poster makes it seem as if all premium content on Google Video is free today but this is not the case. In fact, Google has been providing select videos free for 24 hours for quite some time.
- js530, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It looks like its all from the same "publisher", and seems like a trial. Hopefully they'll start adding some decent shows. Maybe the digg traffic will help *urge* them?
- ani-pockdotnet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1If you find any good videos, please contribute to the Best of Google Video Project!
http://homepage.mac.com/pockyrevolution/bestofgooglevideo/index.html - TehAnna, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2A lot of the Classic Movies are really good ones, if you've got the attention span for silent film. A lot of "classic classics" are up there. As are some pretty good Chaplin reels.
Night of the Living Dead (1968) is up as well. That should count for something? - theblooms, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4I actually found Blade Runnder in the Wal-Fart bargain bin. I couldn't believe it.
- clueless, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1damn... just what i needed for a new trend of nightmares...
- valis, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Moose and Squirrel!!
- akhoslogos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Check out the Charlie Rose interviews.
- Nonononstop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Paying for Charlie Rose is actually really weak. In fact, paying for ANY of these videos is really weak. BUT, Charlie Chaplin does rule, for those who love physical comedy at it's best. Check it out if you don't believe me. You'll be surprised at yourself laughing at comedy from 50 years ago. :) Not a single person these days can compare.
- raid517, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Man I'm sick of the recording industy... I just watched a 10 minute section of a 1950's TV sitcom on my new wizz bang IPTV viewer - because that and a few silent movies are all the movie studios are prepared to (legally) give us.
The words 'get with' and 'the program' spring to mind most when stuff like this happens - but we have been trying to tell them this for years already.
I'm not sure that they ever will. - MrSunshine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Night of the living dead can be downloaded for free at archive.org...
- skidzilla, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Sweet. Everything I never wanted to know about lightweight setting-type joint compound.
- ultimathule, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Good call on the Romeromasterpiece.
- Atomic1fire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1no the words 'to old' and 'to sell' come to the companys mind no one will by it becuase its mostly stuff gramparents watch or kids whos parents get them videos from the local garbage sale i mean garage.
- mikeyaj86, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Mostly worthless stuff, don't waste your time.
- razicop, on 04/19/2008, -0/+1this is great news for all internet surfers, i also i liked it very much...
Many Thanks! - Atomic1fire, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1csi isnt free tho
- foolfromhell, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Now you tell us. Its Almost 10:30 in Texas
