If you're on Windows, try Foxit Reader. It's lightweight (~2MB as opposed to a 70MB download for Adobe reader, what's up with that anyway?) and free. It has all the necessary features (highlight/copy, search, zoom, etc.). Best of all, no stupid download manager or TSR functionality to it.
http://www.foxitsoftware.com/ - Sandkat, on 10/12/2007, -7/+25Safari opens PDFs just fine for me.
- spyrochaete, on 10/12/2007, -8/+25PDF is obnoxious and inconvenient for everything but printing. The client takes forever to load, uses tons of memory, and stays resident until you close the browser.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -8/+23Is anybody sick of people complaining anytime somebody links to a PDF?
I've never ever had a problem with PDF's in Firefox... What gives?? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18Go buy it
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+23whats the big deal with PDFs?
- jmaiurano, on 10/12/2007, -5/+17"Warning?" It's called "hovering over the link before clicking it blindly."
- kipin, on 10/12/2007, -4/+15A warning would be nice, but just use a sleek pdf reader like Foxit Reader and you won't be upset.
- kurupt, on 10/12/2007, -2/+13Circuit city is offering the same deal as BB: http://tinyurl.com/h69q4
- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Yay rewardzone! "Spend money in our store, we send you coupons that makes you spend MORE money in out store!. But you'd better not try to save them up, because they are only good for so long and we won't honor them if we don't have too!"
Thats how it went down at my store anyway. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -7/+15Is this some kind of unwritten law? Seems a little unnecesary to me, but then again I still dont understand why everyone throws fits about PDFs
- Hydroxyl, on 10/12/2007, -9/+17Wow, some people just always complain. He's GIVING you a game and you just bitch.
Lighten up. :| - nonokiaboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8that is annoying. all we got in australia was a demo cart of brain age, its basically useless.
I suppose we won the launch date race -- june 1 -- though - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -16/+23At least warn about the PDF.
- Agent_M, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7I'm happy for you guys stateside, but BestBuy.ca doesn't seem to be doing anything that awesome. :-(
For those heading to FutureShop (Canada) today, here is a PDF of a coupon that can get you $15 off a $150 purchase. You'd be off by a cent, so just throw in a chocolate bar or something.

Mario Kart and Animal Crossing also went down to $39.99 if you still need those. - TGZRyo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6I just recently sold my old DS for $102.50 on ebay....
- Scottish, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Not if you take into account the clueless big box retailers here in the States putting them on sale on May 31st :) (Thank you, Wal-Mart, Target, Meijer!)
- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6of course they are, it's retail. And if I had a old DS and wanted a DS lite I'd trade mine in too. Only having to pay 50 bucks for one after you do that? Sounds like a hell of a deal to me. You'll be luck to get 2/3's of that on ebay.
- broo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Too bad BestBuy doesn't do trade-ins on old hardware; GameStop is giving a $70 (a $50 + $20 'bonus') trade in credit on my Old DS...
- mrwilly123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Uh, if I get a free game, I really don't care too much about saying "no" twice.
- chudgoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yes, the coupon did indeed work...making this the first time I left Best Buy feeling -happy- in several years... ;)
I would urge others to print out a few extra copies of the coupon to leave behind near the DS:lites.
Not everyone knew about this promotion....
I gave one with a copy of Brain Age to a dad buying his daughter one and he was very appreciative!
Make someone's day! - aresef, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Yeah, I picked up the coupon this morning. Good stuff. BB opens in an hour.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7PDF has been a pretty standard format for a while now, hell even Microsoft supports it, and they still cant figure out PNGs
- noneloud, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I HEAR the music.
My package is HERE. - Murdats, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4also pdfdownload avoids the troubles of viewing them in browser
- DesolataX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If the Original DS looked like this, the PSP would have looked like a brick in comparison. This thing is one Sexy Baby! I don't want to touch it it is so nice.
- augiedb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't get the print-out coupon bit. I'm already a Rewards Zone member. They scanned my card. Why do I need to ALSO clip out coupons? I didn't find out about the coupon until AFTER I got home with my DS Lite and copies of Brain Age and New Super Mario Bros. Sadly, they didn't have the coupon at the register to automatically ring it up. Either that, or I got stuck at the wrong register.
I think I'll be heading back there after work today to see if they're honor the coupon one day later and credit my credit card. (I mean, I could always threaten to return what I purchased, and then re-purchase it with the coupon. . . Right?) - suprfli, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i went to game stop where i had preordered and showed them by best buy and circuit city coupon print out. since they match prices and deals they gave me brain age for free. rock!
- flag8, on 10/12/2007, -7/+9That's what the TargetAlert Firefox Extension is for...
- acidzebra, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Heh, I've been doing the Brain training game for a while now and it's real fun.
's funny how my brain after a night of drinking scores as age 64 (!) and on a regular day I score age 25 and slowly getting better. I'm 32, so that's good (younger is better in this game) :P
Now if only I could get my grubby mitts on a DS lite; I'll pass the old one to the GF who's been hogging it to play anyway. instant multiplayer fun! - chad78, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Thanks for the heads up - I was going to buy Brain Age anyway - now I got it free. Very cool. Thanks!
- MrShoop, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Thanks Zeusandhera - used the coupon and got a DS Lite w/free brain age!
- jfinke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Unfortunately, I got mine from Target at 8 this morning. Oh well. My wife is enjoying brain age right now. She is kicking my ass... :(
- SSnow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I just got my DS Lite with my free brain age, thanks to Digg! (very corny I know, but still it worked!)
- SuperBeast, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4my walmart had them out on june 2, but when they rang it up for me it said they weren't allowed to sell it.
- EdwardsNH, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I had preordered at EB games, but got my deposit back, and used this coupon to get the free Brain Age. Had already picked up a copy, but still have the receipt, and will return the new one.
Unfortunately, I lost my wallet while out, and the $100 in it. Seems I'm going to need to play Brain Age a lot ;) - sirkism, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i used the coupon, thank you :)
- spartan777, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3weird, at first glance, i read this 'Free Brain DAMAge with purchase of a DS Lite Coupon.' nothing against nintendo.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The points themselves don't expire, but the coupon they send to you after you've built up enough points DOES expire! The expiration date is printed right on there.
(Unless there was a recent change in policy) - ajb2015, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Damn I already got mine today...not from Best Buy
- dmron, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7No, it's a legitimate complaint. Sure, Reader 7 is faster than its predecessors, but I would still prefer it not to open... it locks up firefox for 5-10 second while it loads, meanwhile I sit there with my thumb in my ass wondering why the ***** there wasn't a PDF warning because if there had been, I wouldn't have clicked the link.
- Loie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1im an idiot who didn't read the manual before playing, what i described above is normal.
- freonchill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1they sold out here - but i talked them into giving me the same deal for 'big brain academy'
- Sandtiger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Expired. June 11-18th only.
- porter235, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I too am weary of the whining. Just use foxit, ghostview, xpdf, or kpdf.
- Folie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1All the best buys around me have 8-15 in stock as of noon.
- adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1the date is also in microprint. I've got perfect vision and even I had troble seeing it, after about 10 swipes at the register and the thing not working.
- lico05, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Damn!! I wish I had seen this yesterday BEFORE I bought the DS Lite. Digg has punished me...
- ahawks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1FYI, YOU DONT NEED TO PRINT THE COUPON. They have it at the stores, they just scan it at the register and you're set.
- Loie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1ok, so i got my DS w/ free brain age today, and when i do a Quick Play it tells me "your brain age is in the 30's! The full version of Brain Age will tell you your age to the exact year" or something to that effect. I assume this means I too have the demo, although the box and cartridge have no indication of this; they look like the regular version.
anyone else, or just me? -
