- LedZepAddict, on 04/09/2009, -8/+152Wow, way to go Socialist party, for doing something unbelievable for politicians: listening to your constituents, and following their desires, unbelievable.
- browncoat84, on 04/09/2009, -4/+113Hell Yeah ! Suck on that Sarkozy !
- Darthyoshiboy, on 04/09/2009, -0/+71Politicians did the right and logical thing? I now find myself questioning the foundations of reality.
- walgman, on 04/09/2009, -2/+65sacre bleu!
- gdo01, on 04/09/2009, -3/+57To anyone voting down LedZepAddict's comment: RTFA !
The Socialist Party was the main reason this law did not pass. - aZoo, on 04/09/2009, -0/+28Video : http://tf1.lci.fr/infos/high-tech/0,,4356528,00-le ...
Scary part is that only 31 people out of 500+ (don't know the exact number) voted.
WTF part is that 15 of the left side (minority) hid in the corridors before the vote took place, came in last minute to overthow the vote leaving no time for the UMP party (right, majority) to call out their friends. - pintocat, on 04/09/2009, -4/+29But I'm le tired....
http://www.endofworld.net/ - christoast, on 04/09/2009, -3/+26I don't care what anyone says, I have always loved the French. Intellectual, liberal and charmingly pretentious. I love 'em.

- Crisender111, on 04/09/2009, -0/+22Sarkozy is a douche & an effing bitch, isnt he?
The French deserve a better President than this schmuck. - RobertPatrick, on 04/09/2009, -3/+20This time we won't surrender !
Especially since the European parliament is against that law, too... - hawkspur, on 04/09/2009, -1/+17The 18th century disagrees.
- flammablewater, on 04/09/2009, -2/+17And the food. You forgot the food. Oh and wine. And girls (they shave now).
- sithregime, on 04/09/2009, -1/+15I wish our politicians voted according to popular public opinion. Wait...Isn't that what they're suppose to do?
- taketheleap, on 04/09/2009, -4/+18Well, look who finally decided to step up to the plate.
French National Assembly > French Parliament - matu4251, on 04/09/2009, -2/+16The opposition (socialist in this case) did what they had to do : oppose (actually saying the opposite is the only things the PS has been able to do for the last 7 years). But what you don't seem to realize is that many senators from the majority just didn't show up to vote (on purpose) and that some voted against... making it possible for the law to be rejected. All in all it's the way a democracy is supposed to work.
- opticwind, on 04/09/2009, -0/+13...read a history book.
- jos22, on 04/09/2009, -0/+13and its a great ***** you to three douche bags.
1. Sarkozy akka IFPI little bitch.
2. IFPI boss
3.McGuinnes the manager of ***** head Bono - arbulus, on 04/09/2009, -0/+12it's the same way the US legislature works: US House of representatives + US Senate = US Congress. Both houses have to agree on a bill. Same goes for the UK with the House of Lords and House of Commons. It's bicameral legislation.
- QuintiliusVarus, on 04/09/2009, -2/+14I dont think outfoxxing your political opponents by having more show up for what would otherwise have been a rubber stamp vote really counts as 'France rejects 3-strikes Piracy Law'. They'll just vote again next week when more of the paid for politicians can be bothered to show up, it will pass, and the people of France will lose.
- gamerscalling, on 04/09/2009, -0/+10Wisconsinites?

- mabsark, on 04/09/2009, -0/+9...and cars, and old ladies handbags.
- DirtyWorker, on 04/09/2009, -2/+11Since when was it a good idea to do something that most people in their country won't like. Specially considering it France, who are well known for their revolutions.
- holygram, on 04/09/2009, -0/+8Why, thank you :)
Americans are........nice....too...
:/ - Depthfunction, on 04/09/2009, -2/+10Three cheers for the Socialists!
- Stavrosian, on 04/09/2009, -0/+8First ever joke about France's military prowess.
My statement is about as accurate as yours. - flammablewater, on 04/09/2009, -1/+9there no cure for typing poorly either
- TOMHTML, on 04/09/2009, -0/+731 people have voted. 546 others were having lunch...
- RealmDown, on 04/09/2009, -0/+7I believe that request will get proxy'd to Carla. :)
- RealmDown, on 04/09/2009, -1/+7Never give up! Never surrender!
- torrentbits, on 04/09/2009, -0/+6Agreed. I thought this French-mongering subsided after Bush went out, but the stupidity persists...

- banik2008, on 04/09/2009, -3/+9Wow that's so original and witty. Cheese-eating surreder monkeys eh? Wherever did you get that from? It's just so funny.
- NJank, on 04/09/2009, -0/+6hmmm....
FNA +FS = FP
FNA > FP
FS < 0 ?
the Senate must be full of a bunch of really negative people. - diggydougie, on 04/10/2009, -0/+6Why was I not informed. This should have been on the news.
- Helspawn, on 04/09/2009, -4/+10It never ceases to amaze me how many derogtory, name calling or hatefull comments are posted in Digg everytime the French are mentioned
- banik2008, on 04/09/2009, -5/+11Oh yeah? And what have you Yanks won recently? Vietnam? Iraq? Afghanistan?
- c010rb1indusa, on 04/10/2009, -1/+7Cleanest air in the developed world, largest middle class in the developed world per capita. Ya I'd say they're pretty hopeless
/s - niczar, on 04/09/2009, -0/+4And the Greens!
- Strman, on 04/10/2009, -0/+4False. "The Class" is not an actual documentary, it's just filmed in that style.
- Greenergrass, on 04/10/2009, -0/+4Nice to hear these kinds of comments, thanks.
- diggydougie, on 04/10/2009, -0/+4Unfortunately if all decisions were made by popular opinion we would get what we want every time. But not what's best for us. We would be like a nation of children and always overreacting. Take Afghanistan for instance. After 911 we would have nuked the place. It would not have been right, but we would have. And when any war starts going badly we would just cut and run. You may think this is a good thing. But the other countries would quickly realize this and work us like a puppet.
- senae, on 04/10/2009, -0/+4Pretty much all of history disagrees. War did not start in 1939.
- daponz, on 04/10/2009, -0/+4France’s Minister of Culture Christine Albanel was shocked by the rejection and said it was a “trap” set up by the Socialist opposition.
IT'S A TRAP :p - OropheR, on 04/09/2009, -0/+3They will submit this hadopi law to vote until it passes. This is how democracy is practised in France. Liberty-Equality-Fraternity: you can remove Liberty soon...
A large majority of french citizens is against this law, but the gouvernement is still trying to enforce it. - RandomGorilla, on 04/10/2009, -0/+3And good sense!
- stonebear, on 04/09/2009, -1/+4And the English.
- demonbaby, on 04/10/2009, -1/+4"Cleanest air in the developed world" only goes so far when they all have terrible B.O.
