- luchid, on 04/18/2008, -0/+15I don't know... Maybe some people find programming enjoyable and might want to do something creative with their API and not waste their time on some game?
- redlantern64, on 04/18/2008, -0/+9Just to give you something to bitch and whine about.
- loneBoat, on 04/18/2008, -0/+9Because Digg is a community-based news article popularity website. It combines social bookmarking, blogging, and syndication with a form of non-hierarchical, democratic editorial control.
News stories and websites are submitted by users, and then promoted to the front page through a user-based ranking system. This differs from the hierarchical editorial system that many other news sites employ.
(shamelessly ripped off from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digg ) - inajeep, on 04/18/2008, -0/+6Well according to the site, they need a backend engineer.
http://flickr.com/jobs/backend_engineer/ - luchid, on 04/18/2008, -1/+6Huh? The flickr Uploadr has ALWAYS supported multiple uploads from different folders.
- Narcism, on 04/18/2008, -2/+6It's not quite "first!", but it's just as bad.
- Shiner6, on 04/18/2008, -1/+4No.
- inactive, on 04/18/2008, -1/+3I dont think so. What I am looking for is the ability to select a folder on my HD and hit upload. The program should upload the photos along with the sub folders under it and create the new set based on the folder name. Basically mirror my photo folders as set names. As it stand now I have to create the new set in Uploadr then upload the files to that set.
- twinprism, on 04/18/2008, -0/+2"The Flickr team is star-studded but prides itself on teamwork, technically capable but operates in a product- and user-driven paradigm and is profoundly driven to take Flickr as far beyond where we are now as the web in 2008 is beyond the web in 1995. We have a privileged position inside of Yahoo! and a mandate to change the world (and the company). This will be a job that you love and are proud of for your entire life."
Be proud and wear your star studded vests? - AlexanderCurtis, on 04/18/2008, -2/+3Shift & Ctrl keys are helpful.
- techeric, on 04/19/2008, -1/+1I'm a developer by trade - not a gamer. When I posted this comment, there were 64 ***** diggs and it was on the front page. I just don't think a cheap API for a photo sharing site is something to get excited about, that's all.
- BatmanStan, on 12/12/2008, -0/+0Got to love Flickr, the wife is addicted to it, surfing it all day
http://godzillafiguresblog.com - timdorr, on 04/18/2008, -2/+1It's official. Flickr has the gayest project site ever :|
- Rhinodog8, on 04/19/2008, -2/+1Is it just me or is the site butt ugly?
- abran1984, on 04/18/2008, -7/+6That site is gay
- phlezk, on 04/18/2008, -4/+1Yeah flaming.
- deviouskoopa, on 04/18/2008, -7/+2Except that I'm voicing my indifference (yes it is ironic haha) as opposed to merely posting to be the first. Bad but not AS bad.
- inactive, on 04/18/2008, -9/+3Flickr is pretty cool but I do not understand why there is not a tool out there to upload folders of photos to it. You can only upload a folder at a time as far as I can see. I have hundreds of folders and wanted to use it as an archiving service but so far no luck.
- FriedTurkey, on 04/18/2008, -10/+1Can't we just go ahead and call this Microsoft Flickr code?
- deviouskoopa, on 04/18/2008, -12/+1Cool............ ?
- techeric, on 04/18/2008, -14/+2... and this is on the front page ... why?
