- atruelunatic, on 12/23/2008, -0/+19How did this get front page?
- scosol, on 12/23/2008, -0/+18Wow- a "hub"- 10 years ago we called that a "portal".

Tina Brown -- The Daily Beast
Julius Genachowski -- Web Wonk
Evan Williams -- Twitter
Jason Kilar -- Hulu
Sheryl Sandberg -- Facebook - antdude, on 12/23/2008, -0/+121 print page: http://www.newsweek.com/id/176664/output/print
- inactive, on 12/23/2008, -0/+12I saw the face of the Internet on a piece of toast. I sold it for 20 bucks on e-bay...
- meruru, on 12/23/2008, -0/+111) It's a list
2) It's about the internet - antdude, on 12/23/2008, -0/+9And region blocking.
- CoD4, on 12/23/2008, -0/+9no
- inigomntoya, on 12/23/2008, -0/+9What's a Web Wonk?
- houndeyex, on 12/23/2008, -0/+7I commend you. It's also ad free.
- inactive, on 12/23/2008, -2/+8Hulu will continue to be irrelevant until they resolve their chronic bandwidth issues.
- melonhedd, on 12/24/2008, -0/+6What's the Daily Beast?
- pokemonfan4eva, on 12/23/2008, -8/+14Anyone else expecting to see Kevin Rose?
- jinxedbohemian, on 12/23/2008, -3/+8Phew, I was almost afraid I might've seen Kevin Rose or Drew Curtis's name on here, Bullet dodged
- cheezygrin, on 12/23/2008, -1/+6What about Mr Babyman?
- eldinb, on 12/24/2008, -0/+4huh!
I was expecting Google and Piratebay at least... - erasermcfleafly, on 12/23/2008, -0/+4LEAVE THE INTERNET'S FACE ALONE!!!!
- TheTCal, on 12/23/2008, -1/+4"But the real winner is Facebook, which now can find out what it's users are doing across the whole of the Web."
Big Brother Facebook FTW. - inigomntoya, on 12/23/2008, -0/+3They also need to find a way to provide their current content while not shacking up with NBC.
- melonhedd, on 12/24/2008, -0/+3I was hoping not to.
- gatorfree, on 12/23/2008, -0/+3Tina Brown is on there because Newsweek is written in New York. New Yorkers think that the world begins and ends there and everything else is vaguely quaint and mostly irrelevant.
And yes, I'm pretty fed-up with San Franciscans too. - serif69, on 12/23/2008, -0/+2This being from Newsweek, I half expected to see George Ouzounian, Jonathan Bidermanon, and Eric Bauman on the list.
- cmdrNacho, on 12/23/2008, -0/+2these people are all irrelevant... if this is what the web is to become... ill pass
- Auscifer, on 12/24/2008, -0/+2On a vaguely related note: maybe its just nostalgia, but I feel like 5-6 years ago, I could type something into google and find what I was looking for right away. Now the first 10-20 search results are all teaser answers attempting to get me to sign-up/register/purchase. Using google to troubleshoot Windows, hardware, games, etc, is a good example I think.
- inactive, on 12/24/2008, -0/+2LOSERS!
- antdude, on 12/23/2008, -0/+2houndeyexhoundeyex: I wouldn't have noticed because of Adblock. :)
- motters, on 12/25/2008, -0/+2You can never have enough portals...no wait
- Dasliberdan, on 12/23/2008, -0/+2Completely agreed and a completely ***** scary application, most people don't realize exactly what these apps are doing!
- cassaffousth, on 12/23/2008, -0/+2I won't dig because it's three pages. I'm tired.
- serif69, on 12/23/2008, -0/+2How meta.

- codejunkee, on 12/24/2008, -0/+11. Tina Brown (The Daily Beast)
2. Julius Genachowski (Web Wonk)
3. Evan Williams (Twitter)
4. Jason Kilar (Hulu)
5. Sheryl Sandberg (Facebook) - craighoxton, on 12/23/2008, -1/+2Tina Brown is so Old Media - why is she on this list? Is the company that owns Newsweek the same one that owns that women's magazine she runs?
- GorfTron, on 12/23/2008, -2/+2Hulu is great but it desperately needs more content, particularly in movies.
- tgc1, on 12/23/2008, -2/+2We are ALL changing the face of the Internet. Because without all these people on the Internet there IS NO INTERNET.
- WraTH017, on 12/23/2008, -2/+2Dugg for no Kevin Rose
- inactive, on 12/24/2008, -3/+2Future of internet is in cutomization...especially search engines. Visit http://www.motiont.com
- GarryBarker, on 12/24/2008, -3/+2It's strange they only selected website owners/webmasters for the 5. I would argue that Steve Jobs should be on this list because he bought mobile internet to the masses with the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch.
