First Mobile WiMAX Network Rolls Out in Wyoming

extremetech.com — The first certified implementation of mobile WiMAX has gone live in a small deployment in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, through a partnership of Alvarion's silicon and DigitalBridge Communications. The WiMAX Forum certified 10 mobile WiMAX products that use the 2.5-GHz band.Mobile WiMAX allows handsets or PC cards to receive WiMAX while on the road.

This may finally bridge the Last Mile and put some options in the consumer's home for a change.
