- cwhill, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I don't like to burst your bubble. From what I have read about what CBS is going to offer is separate shows that tie into their shows. Shows that are no longer on air. Where as ABC is actually offering shows the day after they air. Pretty much completely different if you ask me.
- method, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5When the Discovery channel shows go online, my cable is gone.
- mofo196, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Now all they need are watchable shows.

So far all they have is "extra" content with bad artifacting and a horrible UI. - tobsterius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4anyone else find it funny that they spent a ton of money upgrading and promoting HD and its superior image quality and now they are turning to the internet to deliever lower quality video?
- Klever, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3LOL, you would have to PAY ME to watch that *****. What a joke....offer some real shows CBS, get a clue.
- l1wulf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I have yet to really dig down into the website, but even if this is just "extras", it's a great step forward. I remember my girlfriend paying Realmedia for access to the Big Brother channel for a few months. While the concept was nice, and she enjoyed it for a while, it lost its appeal as a fee based service soon enough. Since she's a big fan of Survivor as well, I'm sure she'll be all over this site. The only problem is, she's the type of person that would rather watch her TV shows delayed or later in the night specifically to skip through the commercials, hehe. Depending on how prevalent the ads are will dictate how often she'll watch the videos here.
- saphazer, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Too bad FOX didn't have this for Arrested Development because you know this is going to supply networks with more accurate ratings.
- KillerX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2ABC did a much better job and they have video I'd watch. CBS has crap to watch and two crap video formats to choose from Crap or Crap. The videos should have been Flash based as well. Lame.
- LordJezo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Eh. As much as I would like to digg this I don't think I can. It says CBS is going to be offering original programming on the internet, not the stuff that's on TV, that pretty much defeats it as a TV replacement.
- Tugboat78, on 11/09/2008, -0/+1Here is to hoping CSI and Without a Trace will eventually go on their new service.
- TheAttacks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I think I might as well throw my TV out the windows, every channel I frequent offers shows online.
- Tugboat78, on 11/09/2008, -0/+1Really kind of two different markets. Some people like watching TV with their 52-inch plasma with 5.1 surround sound. Others just like jump onto their computer with two speakers and watch their favorite shows.
- Lindsay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ha, ya that is pretty funny. But if you've got HD on a LCD flat panel computer monitor, than you're good to go. Also been talking to some people and we were wondering if there was a way to make the ABC shows full screen?
- lucidguru99, on 01/26/2009, -0/+1Everybody offers TV online in USA, take a look at: http://www.bbpctv.com/
- sphogan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is terrible - for the networks that is. It's great for us (consumers) because it's leveling the playing field. If everyone starts getting their video online, the oligopoly that the networks have over our televisions will be broken. This means that any independent person can create video culture and get it to the masses through the same mechanism that the networks are moving to.
Or maybe this is just my pipe dream. - PRESS_00, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Streamable on-demand content is a nice step towards the download generation's view of things. I wish things went as fast as Apple does with "their download onto a device and watch it any time anywhere" concept did.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Probably a good idea at the time, but diluted by MBA's in meetings. What developer with any control would: (i) Write the application in Flash. (ii) Call the website innertube without actually owning the domain name.
The answer is simple: Non-technical people are in charge of making technical decisions without any knowledge of how these websites work. That is why they will always fail. Until the developers are taken more seriously, I predict more failure in the future! - nukethewhales, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is lame. Did you read the description to one of the shows? Greek to Chic? I'll Digg when they start offering CSI, Numbers, or The Amazing Race.
- antdude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Mythbusters!
- aubreyq, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, Pearl Jam!! It's choppy and freezes like hell, though. DANG!!
- iconshotspot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I dont mind the ads dont have to wait weeks for a rerun. CBS needs to get on the ball and put up ncis and the unit. Hopefully they make a profit so more shows online can be a good venture. right now they are showing things that would be extra's on a dvd for the shows I want to see. but it is a step in a good diretion.
- ericpp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Actually AdultSwim was first, ABC second, and now CBS third.
- surfing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I want that, but the site appears to be down
- modernpixel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They've added a 45 minute Pearl Jam concert, taped exclusively for the web from the Letterman studio last night. For anyone into Pearl Jam.
- mikeyboy82, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2That's all nice and dandy if they at least don't do like ABC has done. Because all Europeans trying to connect to the shows on ABC get a nice message saying "You have to be located within the US to watch these streams".
- j2jamora, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I hope the streaming will eventually be offered to countries other than the US. American programs dominate the Philippine TV landscape.
- surfing, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Got it now... now just need the hack to save thee video locally.
- mapkinase, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I guess that seals it. I mean ABC was planning to show it only until the end of June, right? Forget about it. With competition, this will be bound to go for a long time: free TV shows with "more merciful than you can see it on TV" (so far) ads.
- wqwert, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Unless they have Numb3rs, I'll still use BT
- alnino2005, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0whats with the sudden tv streaming boom?
- MysticX, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3This is great news, a great way to break the ice against pirates. Then they don´t have to download it illegaly, they just go to the site and watch it.
- saphazer, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Yea I only download shows because I don't have a TV but I do pay for cable(roommates have TVs) and I delete the eps when I'm done. I only watch two shows right now, anyway.
- goatomatic, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1@ rewritable
