- titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -2/+23IE Fanboys exist?
- SPThom, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17Um... Yeah.
You keep havin' fun in that magical land of make-believe there, SH. - loof, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15IE 7 has been out 5 days now and firefox has already lost 2 points? right...
Where exactly are you getting your data? - championchap, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10Weeeeird, I didn't know anybody loved Internet Explorer.. not in any sense of the word.
- mscman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10You're probably a member of the Spread Internet Explorer site, aren't you?
I feel sorry for these people...:
http://www.spreadinternetexplorer.com/ - foxhoundadmin, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9why don't you nerds stop digging these people down, and, instead, give them answers (unless you, too, don't know where firefox 2.0 is); buy, hey, you're digging them down! of course you have the answers! you're just too damn lazy or pompous (maybe both) to give them out.

I love to hate it, does that count? - MacPrince, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5They didn't change the name of extensions, so much as they grouped extensions and themes under the header of add-ons.
It reduces menu clutter, and brings both of them into one dialog box. It doesn't bother me, really. - lcmatt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Not downloading v2 just yet until I know all my extensions & themes will work.
- rzvgy0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Its still not posted on the site, but I just copy the link from ver. 1.5.0.7 and replace it with 2.0.
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/products/download.html?product=firefox-2.0&os=win&lang=en-US - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5That's funny because last I checked you needed to have spyware (WGA) installed just to install IE7.
So why should we trust it to stop malicious web sites better than IE6?
I'll take Firefox and its hundreds of extensions over IE7 any day. I mean come on, tabbed browsing was invented half a decade ago. - spritom, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6@spamhater
Way to be bucking for that "4" on that next employee review in Redmond. I don't think you're in Kansas any more, but it was a good try. - titlesaysitall, on 10/12/2007, -5/+7It won't miss you though.
- jav1231, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yeah, it's killing me because people keep posting and writing articles about how it's being released today, launched today, etc. when...well...IT'S NOT! :)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yup. No need for weblogs, digg, or your cousin's nerdy friend to tell you where to get FF2.0.
Just go to the website when it becomes available! Is it really KILLING some of you that it is not released officially? Many have RC3 and will gladly wait another day or two... Some people you just can't please. - Slashriffs, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5I love the new 2.0
Hasn't crashed on me yet. unlike 1.5 :) - jav1231, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4www.getfirefox.com still has 1.5.
- zakharm, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Are the moz boys offering an enterprise group plolicy roll out version Firefox 2?
we've been using this in the mean time:
http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=138033&postdays=0&postorder=asc&postsperpage=15&start=0&sid=18249a78c42091814672f93e2c419ba4 - OrlyonokEaglet, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3It's one thing to change default settings but removing setting options from dialogs will annoy even the most dedicated users - if they happened to use one of such settings. At least there's the about:config to make use of.
- Amything, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I really don't like how if you have loads of tabs open they start scrolling to the sides. Anyone know a fix for that?
- M4v3R, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2You can use Nightly Tester extension which will disable compatibility checks. This way I got LiveHTTPHeaders working.
- jonjj7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Most of my extensions worked (after updating), but these didn't:
-Tab Mix Plus
-Download Manager Tweak
-Live HTTP Headers
Just in case anyone has these and was thinking about going from 1.5. to 2. - Grayfox777, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Wow... you use TONS of tabs. I just now checked to see how many it took for that to happen. 11 tabs.
- uownedge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2It's posted on mozilla.com
I did the same thing :/
Blame AOL. - foxhoundadmin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2it's not even out yet, unless you're talking about the release candidates (which crash quite as often as 1.5). myspace anyone? :P
i kid, i kid. myspace can crash any browser. except, it takes quite a few tabs to crash opera. i hope firefox 2.0 will be as stable as opera 9. - mathguru1, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4I wish there were a few more GUI changes. Other than that, 2.0 looks great.
- argblat, on 10/12/2007, -9/+9It would be awesomer if the delicious and aardvark extensions worked for it
- slypr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0nice
- wvdavis, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4Someone wake me when Firefox says there is an update; would you like to download it?
/sarcasm - DJMajickman, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5How bout the fact that 2 of the top add-ons are not available for use on 2.0 Fasterfox, not that I ever used that, and Tab Mix Plus, which I love.
- teknotant, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3I have been using FF 2 RC 3 since it came out and have been very happy. I can't wait to update to the new version.
- teknotant, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4most of mine still work
- mnementh666, on 10/12/2007, -9/+6But... Ubuntu already posted 2.0 to the repositories? Maybe I am confused?
"Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20060601 Firefox/2.0 (Ubuntu-edgy)" - sitedigger, on 10/12/2007, -5/+1I have 2.0 (Not Beta, well I got it last night, so I think it's a not a beta. I got it from mozilla's FTP site) and it just crashed. A feedback windows popped open. I was going to his cancel and then it crashed. Did this happen with anyone else?
- mthoringen, on 10/12/2007, -9/+4They've changed "extension" to "add-on". I like the original name better.
- zackkitzmiller, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3Mine's Blinking... Using OS X 10.4.8 with FF 2.0
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+3realistically, all this market share business is *****...
until the time where google releases its stats on browser usage on google.com i will not believe one single "market share" figure
most of the market share stats are heavily bias towards FF - r2builder, on 10/12/2007, -12/+4Improvements for themes & stuff eh? That might mean a new version of Alefox!
- wwwdot1jesdotus, on 10/12/2007, -11/+4Yeah, me too. Oops. Oh well. It it awesome though! And very shiny!
- Endoplasmic, on 10/12/2007, -12/+2Gah. While I love all the new improvements, I hate how the Flash plugin is broken again.
No more blinking cursor in an input text field. *sniff* I'll miss you little buddy. - jus1haz2, on 10/12/2007, -17/+5I already got it when it was last posted on digg. Apparently I wasnt soposed to either, they fliped out and said NO DIRECT LINKS! woops
Did I dl an incomplete version or were they just not ready for launch - i440, on 10/12/2007, -13/+01 “100,000’s of evangelists and marketers”
They forgot basically every user on Digg. So probably more like 4.68005+E5253 (as you can see, people who are /really/ obsessive count as more then one person).

It must be a link to the Debian stable distribution - r2builder, on 10/12/2007, -19/+1...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -41/+2And Firefox users once again rant and rave, despite the fact that IE 7 is wiping the floor with them and already reclaiming the market share that Firefox stole in the last few years.
Did you guys know that Firefox's market share has dropped two percentage points since IE 7 became available for download? Did you know growth all but stopped when the IE 7 betas came out?
In the end, Firefox, if it's remembered at all, will be remembered for getting Microsoft to come out with IE 7 a bit faster than it would have otherwise.
