Shut up, It said the same thing for rc1 and rc2
the only real difference is a bug fix or two - DoTheFandango, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1too bad Firefox runs like crap on OS X...
I don't know what you are talking about "neocitron", but I am running Firefox 1.5RC3 on a G4 1.33 GHz iBook, and it is running super fast.
Faster than my Windows even. - terrab0t, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1When the final 1.5 comes out, I'm going to install it and switch back over from Opera. I've been using Opera since it was made available free and although it has a few features Firefox could use, it's faults, and the fact that there isn't a whole community working away to correct them, still leave it in the number two spot.
- zone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0thanks!
- Jammerdelray, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I found out when I opened firefox and it said new update available. Just pure sweetness.
- weirdal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'll stick with 1.07, RC2 had a memmory leak like no other for me...
- adam8281, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sweet, I'm glad it's got the drag and drop for browser tabs
- lazza, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0anyone know if there is still a problem with adblock blocking flashes and other misc content by itself in this version?
- AdamCo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm the same as you vanlandw, but it's good to have the community downloading and testing these releases so bugs can be reported and resolved.
- KillerJ59J, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0First time I updated through the Update System. ^_^
- FaNtAsMa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Jesus christ, I've never seen firefox open AND load all of my tabs this fast before. Flippin' awesome.
- VoodooRock, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0very nice. Just got it and there's a noticeable increase in load and render times on my Mac. So anybody who says it runs like crap would do well to run their cron utility and clear out all their caches. Might help a little.
- etruscan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The memory footprint will greatly depend on the extensions, plugins, and search plugins you have loaded into Firefox. I try to be conservative with my extensions (I'm picky). For me, Firefox runs at about 60mb. That's fine.
- nugge7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Holy crap! This thing is uber super fast... VIVA LA FIREFOX!!! And this is just RC3!!11
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Help -> Check for updates
- ThePhilomath, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0...wow, the update actually worked for me. And it worked well!
- neocitron, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0too bad Firefox runs like crap on OS X...
- BugMeNot2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's even FASTER?!
- wbrendel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I love the drag and drop tabs :)
- weirdal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0how is memory usage?
It was up in the 50-60 MB range on rc2, I couldn't stand to use it very long - LycoLoco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I see no changes really, but it didn't break any extensions, and that's good enough for a digg from me.
- snyy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0rc2 was very unstable here is to hopeing this is alittle better
- damentz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Good stuff, recommend over stable release
- chrono13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The differences between RC2 and RC3:
http://www.squarefree.com/burningedge/releases/1.5rc1.html (detailed release n - JinxedSoul, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Best build yet, I recommend this update.
- p5ych0, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1http://digg.com/software/Direct_link_to_Firefox_1.5_RC3
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I downloaded RC2 on my laptop literally 10 minutes ago. I'm way too lazy to do it again.
- Darek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Damn thing sitll uses about 50MB ram average at any one time :(
- Workster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why does my version still show the date as 20051111 after I updated?
- MonkeyFit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm running at 80MB. I would complain except I have 1.5GB of RAM. That leaves me with about 1GB free even with it and my other programs running. Though I am curious as to why it's at 80MB. Oh well. Hasn't affected performance yet.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Im running at about 31mb ram on windows, and staying pretty level.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't know how many of you noticed this, but RC3 actually seemed to have FIXED most of my extensions that stopped working under previous release candidates for 1.5. I like it!
- vanlandw, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0lmao....nice to see you guys are so up on this release....personally i'll just wait for the offical release for my windows PC's and the G5 optimized build :-)
