- KungFuJesus, on 10/16/2007, -1/+73god damnit dude, don't use TOR for filesharing. It's slow enough as it is.

- Ghoztt, on 10/16/2007, -5/+21OH NOES! MY IP ADDRESS HAS BEEN LOGGED!!
If anyone from the RIAA/MPAA is reading this, I hear there is a very good IRC channel for discussing anti-piracy with internet users. It's called #care - Phipman, on 10/17/2007, -20/+33Tor, bitches.
Catch me now - zomgz, on 10/14/2007, -0/+11yes, as we all know how easy it is to get the suppliers/main group members
(rolls eyes) - flaterates, on 10/15/2007, -3/+13Strange, but when I go there it shows the IP address of someone who lives up the street from me. You can "share" more than just songs and movies.
- inactive, on 10/15/2007, -2/+11that would make you a really big douche bag because this is digg.com retard comment system problem.

- plusmedic, on 10/16/2007, -0/+5Tor is not meant for filesharing. Using it for such a purpose is an abuse of the network. Please do not take this idiots advice.
If you really want to protect yourself, rent a secure VPN. There should be some that accept payment services like e-gold, moneybookers or webmoney, which will be far harder to trace than something like PayPal or your own CC. You're going to have to deal with lower speeds and bandwidth limitations depending on the provider, but hey, if you're partial to wearing tinfoil hats, this solution is tailored to your needs. - sickanimations, on 10/14/2007, -0/+5I hope they didn't use fwrite($f, $_SERVER['REMOTE_ADDR']); otherwise I'm doomed!
- inactive, on 10/15/2007, -1/+6USB or Firewire? Or do you prefer mature hardware with Parallel port?
- chokeaduck, on 10/17/2007, -3/+8I really am curious to see how long it will take the record industry and movie industry to realize that business for them is going to change, like it or not. It's hard to beat free, even when people risk fines, I mean use your head. Think about things that people can't replicate and download. You can't replicate seeing 300 on an Imax screen on your 20" widescreen monitor. You can't replicate seeing Radiohead live in concert by watching or listening to a dodgey bootleg.
And stop releasing such crap. Oh noes movie sales are down and so are album sales. Yeah, part of it is from downloading, no doubt. But some of the people downloading the new Pop album wouldn't have purchased it in the first place, they just downloaded it because it was free. So that's not what I'd consider a lost sale or lost revenue. Wasted bandwidth, maybe, but that's a different story. How many movies have come out in the past 5 years that are remakes of classic/older movies or TV series from the 70's and 80's? And how many of them were god-awful? Who keeps greenlighting this crap? - Osjpr, on 10/15/2007, -0/+51. Theft deprives someone of their property so that they can't sell it. When the industry calls it's customers thieves it can Go ***** itself.
2. Many people who download music would never have bought it had there been no way to download it (This Fact never stopped the industry from Lying to the media and politicians).
3. There is much, much more but I'm not wasting more of my time spelling it out. - zomgz, on 10/14/2007, -0/+5you'll never hear about them trying because of the depth of security that is required within the scene.... FEDZ take a minimum of 4+ years in most cases to get in deep enough to execute busts. The **AA's are lucky if they can find the toilet paper to wipe their own asses.
- esotericguy, on 10/15/2007, -6/+11Why Did You Capitolize Every Letter?
- actorboy, on 10/14/2007, -0/+4Yup, ever since Ernesto got called out by Demonoid for reporting unconfirmed rumors as fact.
- mctwists, on 10/14/2007, -0/+4hmm.. the website was right abt everything except my location
- thebellmaster1x, on 10/15/2007, -3/+7"You are not anonymous."
We ARE anonymous.
And, by God, we are LEGION. - Travelsonic, on 10/14/2007, -1/+5"There are legal services for downloading music and movies. "
Yup.
"This service is not one of them. "
Funny, there are legal files, or do you suggest banning legitimate things like FTP just because like torrents thay are used both legally and illegally?
"YOUR IP ADDRESS IS 83.233.168.134 AND HAS BEEN LOGGED."
So, I don't care 'cause I know that you can do ***** with an I.P address you got from somebody visiting a website for a program that can/is used legally and illegally.
"Don’t think you can’t get caught. You are not anonymous."
You'd have to be too naieve to think everybody who reads this message is naieve to believe they can't run any chance - as microscopic is it is when safe, to large in certain circumstances - of getting caught.
These arguments the **AAs put fourth like the above, simply put, suck. - plusmedic, on 10/15/2007, -0/+4You obviously have absolutely no idea about the concept of IP spoofing. You should start writing scripts for movies about hackers.
- izzie2, on 10/18/2007, -2/+6People being sued by the RIAA/MPAA should just sue anonymous for making it irresistable to download thier wares. Why not, people are suing McDonalds for making them fat.
- JustLoren, on 10/15/2007, -0/+4Maybe, just maybe, he copy+pasted the title of the article.
This is just me going out on a limb, here. - YamiJim, on 10/16/2007, -3/+6YARRRRRRRRRRRG BITCHES, I'M PLUNDERING YOUR BOOTY!
- hellotyler, on 10/14/2007, -0/+3Hotline is dead, wired is the future.
- daEvan, on 10/16/2007, -0/+3I CAN HAS IP?
- cyssero, on 04/18/2009, -0/+3Supporting the artist with your plastic CD in a jewel case? Hardly. We all know very little money goes to artists in the first place, they're paid on contractual agreements and usually just have to release 4 or so albums per their agreement with their label.
If it's a small, local or independant label, of course you should seriously consider buying the album if you like the music. But really, the best way to help the artist is to go to their concerts.
I have been to a few concerts in the couple of years I would have *never* gone to had it not been for piracy. I learnt about a few artists/groups through pirating their music, then figured I would love to see them live and went ahead and got a ticket.
I will infringe on copyrights from a company like Sony who have turnovers in the billions. I will infringe on copyrights of a label who treat their artists like *****. If I truly feel an artists deserves my purchase, I will buy it (and I do occasionally purchase albums). - noseeme, on 10/16/2007, -2/+5Protip: Adapt to new changes or die.
- inactive, on 10/16/2007, -1/+4And they are having their cases thrown out in court.
- sdubois92, on 10/14/2007, -0/+3www.zankasoftware.com/wired
same thing as hotline, but for Linux and OS X. it really needs good servers, so start one up! - s1mph0ny, on 10/15/2007, -1/+4Or, more conveniently, how many of the movies released in the last 5 years were NOT remakes?
