- geekchic, on 08/16/2008, -1/+15As the "addurl" page is virtually useless anyway, I am not surprised that Google can't be bothered to fix it.
They probably forgot it even exists. - inactive, on 08/16/2008, -1/+11Huh..haven't noticed anything?
- adidos, on 08/16/2008, -1/+9The blog author seems to have a bone to pick with Google...maybe he applied and got rejected?
I'd hardly classify this as an "EPIC FAIL"...it's not like the CAPTCHA that protects GMail account creation behaves the same way as this one. - clickfire, on 08/16/2008, -1/+9"Inclusion in Google's search results is free and easy; you don't even need to submit your site to Google..."

Still a nice catch, though. - inactive, on 08/16/2008, -2/+9though i've been a Google fanboy from way back (i bought a google mug), this is a big FAIL!
someone's gonna to send out resumes pretty soon. FAIL! - inactive, on 08/17/2008, -1/+8Adding the word "fail", or any variation thereof, into arbitrary positions within a sentence makes you sound like a dumbass. Stop it.
- upick, on 08/17/2008, -1/+7I hate captcha full stop. Most besides google I hate digg's comment captcha!
- inactive, on 08/16/2008, -2/+7so google doesn't know EVERYTHING after all!
- adidos, on 08/16/2008, -0/+5Update: I was wrong about the author getting rejected by Google...he's just a little 16 year old punk ;)
- sneakerman23, on 08/16/2008, -2/+7lol niiiiiiiiiice
- inactive, on 08/17/2008, -2/+6Google are gay, but not the fun party ***** all around rainbow flag lesbian dildo way.
- madmccoy, on 08/16/2008, -0/+4They don't validate anything on that page, do they?
Guess it doesn't matter. It's not like it can be abused... even if it's hooked up to something. - pingpants, on 08/16/2008, -0/+4You *bought* a Google mug? So wong.
- louiebaur, on 08/17/2008, -2/+6=|....=o....=O.....=D....=[....
- BeShirtHappy, on 08/16/2008, -0/+4Shocking isn't it? :)
- geekchic, on 08/17/2008, -0/+3maybe someone simply thinks the story is a bit lame.
When offered the choice between a simple answer and a conspiracy - it helps to stick to the simple answers. They are invariably the correct ones. - inactive, on 08/17/2008, -1/+3This story has been buried by only 1 digg. Maybe there really are moderators. Google is trying to stop people from knowing about this. They even dropped me from SERPs (search engine results page). Or is it just some kind of Digg censorship?
- inactive, on 08/17/2008, -0/+2Had to laugh when I read this comment!
"They probably forgot it even exists."
You got that right! The page is totally useless as far as I can tell. I've gotten sites indexed and well ranked on their first page within less than a day...And that was before I learned I supposed to use their page to submit my URL! So, does it's broken status really matter??? - netMASA, on 08/17/2008, -0/+1I've been around digg and other than diggspy, I haven't seen a feature that shows you how many times it has been buried. Does this feature exist?
- inactive, on 08/16/2008, -2/+3No its not about getting abused or not caring about it. Its about being one of the biggest companies and failing at making a simple CAPTCHA, and then lying about it because they're embarrassed.
- inactive, on 08/16/2008, -3/+3Actually a lot of people use it. Especially web developers. They just use it hoping that Google will know about it and start indexing it within a few weeks.
If Google didn't care about that page then I don't think they would send Google reps and Matt Cutts to lie about it.
What is Digg?
