- walkngonawire, on 11/06/2007, -5/+320In other shocking news, librarians can see which books you've checked out at the library, and bank tellers can see where you've spent money recently!
- AriaStar, on 11/08/2007, -5/+259I just assumed that Facebook employees had the ability to check profiles.
- cindylauper, on 11/06/2007, -5/+217yea this only seems relevant if your g/f, b/f works at facebook, but if so you're screwed you two timing bastard/slut.
- PatrickA, on 11/08/2007, -20/+215So? Some employees will have database access as well. Do you expect them to not look at stuff?
- teadrinker, on 11/06/2007, -4/+171Newsflash! Some doctors read your medical records!
- z0zin, on 11/08/2007, -4/+154Why is this surprising?
- JasonCox, on 11/05/2007, -5/+99No Digg user should be surprised at this considering most of us are IT and have access to alot of private/confidential stuff on our servers.
- Nerfdude, on 11/06/2007, -6/+90actually i think the vast majority of digg users are highschool/college kids with apple boners. but that's just my observation.
- jbzd, on 10/28/2007, -1/+48What you describe (40 yr/old with 18 yr/old) is perfectly legal, although very gross.
- stoanhart, on 10/29/2007, -1/+40No kidding. Tomorrow we will see a digg article "Your network admin can see your files, even if you don't give him your password!"
- magic6435, on 10/30/2007, -36/+72Yes. We do.
- euro22, on 12/17/2008, -1/+35Oh my god I hope Digg employees don't have the ability to see which stories I Digg...
- xister, on 10/28/2007, -1/+32Let's try that off-color joke again...
You know what's great about sex with 22 year olds? There's twenty of them.
Ugh.. WHY do I know that joke? - tuxidomasx, on 10/28/2007, -2/+32i dunno. when when i'm 40, i'll prolly enjoy lookin at chicks in their 20s
i doubt i'll find many 40 year old attractive women. - Nerfdude, on 10/30/2007, -4/+33this is ridiculous. it's their site, not yours. you just get to ***** around on it. and if you violate the terms of use, they can delete your account. how would they ever check up on people who are reported if they couldn't look at their pages?
- Nerfdude, on 10/28/2007, -3/+31i wasn't joking. i like to pound babies.
- somekids, on 10/30/2007, -2/+29What sucks more is that they don't completely delete your account when you close it.
- lordspidey, on 11/06/2007, -11/+37All your databases are belong to us
- timjim31, on 10/28/2007, -2/+25a world made of bananas
- ultrafez, on 10/28/2007, -1/+23You don't know, when you were 13 you probably found 13 yr olds attractive, and when you were 20 you probably found 20 yr old's attractive. You'll never know until you get there I suppose.
- Nerfdude, on 10/28/2007, -13/+34you know what's great about sex with 18 year olds?
there's 18 of them. - rjprux, on 11/04/2007, -3/+22who cares?
- inactive, on 10/28/2007, -1/+19He can? Damn
- Batiu-Drami, on 10/28/2007, -0/+17Or; God forbid, be able to search within your own diggs!
[sorry, I know this joke is about a day late now] - Godlesswanderer, on 10/29/2007, -10/+26They're essentially using the site that they help to run but with some extra privileges. I don't see what's so bad about that.
- tehpwnrate, on 10/28/2007, -0/+16Ha, never heard that one.
People are so touchy about humor. It's just a damn joke. - jdc760, on 10/28/2007, -1/+17And what a sight that site is.
- h4mx0r, on 10/29/2007, -8/+24Do you keep lying to yourself about everything?
You present opportunity, people will take it. Employees will always have access since well, they are the guys working on facebook. - inactive, on 10/28/2007, -1/+15Big woop dee doo. Why does it matter? I'm sure myspace employee's can do the same thing.
- lehmon, on 10/28/2007, -0/+13Actually, we bank tellers can not only see what you've spent, but your current address, phone number, and social security number as well...
- shors, on 10/28/2007, -2/+15if you don't like them looking at your facebook messages then use this one facebook messaging clone called e-mail
- cooldude127, on 10/28/2007, -5/+17i think he meant 18 girls, not 18 year-old girls
- iofthestorm, on 10/30/2007, -1/+13I doubt most Digg users are IT (heck, I doubt most digg users are above 13 judging from some of the comments) but other than that I agree. I'm sure a lot of digg users have played around with web servers and stuff though, even if they are immature.
- zabouth, on 10/28/2007, -0/+12yea it be kind of hard to moderate the site if they could not
- xister, on 10/28/2007, -2/+14Are you kidding me? There's a million MILFs out there.
- soupir, on 10/28/2007, -1/+12We'll be sure to not tell your 40 year old wife, dude. Plus, I'm sure you'll still be smokin'.
- Kanidia, on 10/29/2007, -1/+12This is Gawker Media's design, and not lifehacker's by itself.
- TyrannousDotNet, on 10/28/2007, -1/+11is this really a scoop? i take this for granted.
- Kanidia, on 10/28/2007, -0/+9I bet Gmail employees can read our emails. It's not like their computer is going to prevent them from accessing their own systems.
- MacSuxWindozSux, on 10/28/2007, -1/+9You're pretty perverted if you think "pounding babies" is sick. :)
- zspeed78, on 10/28/2007, -0/+8Obviously we all know they can check profiles.. but to look at the history of which profiles YOU have browsed is different. By joining facebook and posting stuff, I agree for it to be shown. I didnt say 'hey, go ahead and pay attention to how many times i look at the profile of the hot chick from Math53.'
- scabbers, on 10/28/2007, -2/+10First dibs on the sluttiest sluts.
- ochants76, on 11/04/2007, -6/+14so.
- jmpeagle, on 10/28/2007, -2/+10@mark
it's volunatrily given info. Any lost privacy is solely the dumbass user's fault. - donatj, on 10/28/2007, -6/+14Then you're dumb as hell. Everyone looks at that stuff. Jeeze
- Nrvana423, on 10/28/2007, -1/+8well said...
- IEatEmoKids, on 10/28/2007, -1/+8good god.
what kind of world are we living in!? - Ademan, on 10/29/2007, -4/+11Actually I would expect db admins/maintainers/whatever to keep out of my datums, but having said that, this facebook thing is really a non-issue if you ask me. What sort of sensitive information is on facebook? Woo they know where i went to highschool and have a general idea where i live! (probably could get a better idea from my ip address for that matter). Unless you're embarassed that facebook knows you've been looking at some dude's profile constantly and are in the closet, or you've got naked pictures of yourself on your facebook (which i believe violates the TOS) then i don't really see the issue...
- soupir, on 11/05/2007, -0/+7Whatever. We're farmers.
- inactive, on 10/28/2007, -0/+6@soupir
