- sockpuppets, on 04/27/2009, -0/+62R Kelly was momentarily excited until someone explained to him what "playing in their stream" really meant.
- GiJoeBob, on 04/27/2009, -0/+25Don't cross the streams.
- godofallcows, on 04/27/2009, -0/+10If she didn't wanna get peed on, she woulda moved out tha way!
- pegothejerk, on 04/27/2009, -1/+8Just tell them there's a TwittBook party in Mexico City this weekend.
- CoD4, on 04/27/2009, -0/+6As long as balls don't touch
- ekula, on 04/27/2009, -1/+6so what does this mean? more intrusive quizzes and *****?
- ekula, on 04/27/2009, -1/+6Myspace was poor and only appealed to uneducated prepubescent teens. As those teens grew up, they ditched it, and went to Facebook. Facebook seems to embrace change quite readily (unlike it's technophobic user base), and I personally can see it around for a long time.
Incidentally,
Bebo < Myspace < Facebook
Insert Twitter either side of Facebook in according to preferences. - UselessTrivia, on 04/27/2009, -1/+6This just in: Facebook never to become profitable evar.
- tacojohn48, on 04/27/2009, -0/+4I just wish they would enable RSS on the stream. Then google reader would be pretty much the only thing I visit regularly.
- Stormen, on 04/27/2009, -0/+4Oh yes, just what we need: More spam in our feed!
/s - pegothejerk, on 04/27/2009, -1/+5Never underestimate Zombie Myspace. Addddddddddd Frrrrriiiiiiiieeeeeennnndddddssssss....
- alex7575, on 04/27/2009, -0/+3Turn the damn API into easy to consume webservices and use ws-security to secure it... Just my 2 cents as a programmer...
- UMDWei, on 04/27/2009, -0/+3Nothing - in fact, they're banking on the fact you will be addicted to your stream and will want to carry it around with you wherever you go. Nothing raises ad dollar CPMs more than undivided attention.
- SaladCactusKing, on 04/27/2009, -0/+3Reposted from other Facebook frustration thread:
I had a big event planned out. I created a listing, but the new Facebook puts all upcoming events at the bottom of the page so we can see this new ***** Twitter like Newsfeed filling up the screen. I emailed the 50 or so people attending and the 60 or so maybes the night before, but Facebook "delayed the message temporarily" (didn't ***** send it.) because I e-mailed a large group.
The party was kind of a bust, and while I'm sure I could've done a better job promoting, Facebook took an important element of the organization of the event and hid it behind "OMG ZAC EFRON SO CUTE" and "JACKIE THREW A SHEEP AT YOU TAKE THIS QUIZ HANGMAN WILL YOU FIND LOVE?"
***** you Facebook. - hyderalamgir, on 04/28/2009, -0/+2You'll be asked promptly and clearly by each application whether you'd like to share your information with them.
- tacojohn48, on 04/27/2009, -0/+2there is a greasemonkey script to get rid of those. I can't recommend it highly enough. http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/44459
- FFLord, on 04/27/2009, -0/+2I'm still waiting for XMPP/Jabber Facebook chat. They spend so much time telling everyone they have an open platform but they haven't bothered to open up chat like they promised 11 months ago....
- tacojohn48, on 04/27/2009, -0/+2http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/44459 This greasemonkey script will get rid of all the trash.
- inactive, on 04/27/2009, -0/+2Facebook already allows applications which can harvest your information from the profiles, what's to stop them from putting tons of ads in the stream.
- den0, on 04/27/2009, -1/+3You never make 'em touch!
- NJank, on 04/27/2009, -0/+1didn't the same happen with AOL IM back in the day? I still have Trillian installed, but haven't turned it on in a year or so.
- topgigmedia, on 04/27/2009, -0/+1Bands still use it (which was the original intent of MySpace I think). As long as this is the case, I think it will be around even if it is smaller.
- topgigmedia, on 04/27/2009, -0/+1please bath before you get in the stream and no lump (weird) fishes please.
- godofallcows, on 04/27/2009, -0/+1I saw Bacon at first so I dugg you, then I read it right and put you back down to neutral.
- hypografik, on 04/27/2009, -0/+1Thanks, I'll check it out.
Now if only we had these options by default in FB. - centran, on 04/27/2009, -0/+1you are acting like they are selling your information.
you have to allow the apps permission to access your account. it is the same process of using any app on facebook you get a popup that allows you to choose how much access they get and if they can do things such as post on your wall.
This is actually a good thing as it will allow cooler and more interesting applications and integration with other websites.(if you choose to opt-in) - NinjaPablo, on 04/27/2009, -0/+1Oh great, I can look forward to even more 'SoAndSo picked their 5 favorite random inane subject' things
- smazms, on 04/27/2009, -0/+1i think facebook and twitter can co-exist nicely at the moment, seeing as they offer completely different things.. when they become the same thing then one of them will go
- sickswaystop, on 04/27/2009, -0/+1in my opinion Myspace died because they let users change the layouts.. and autoplay music, ***** gross.
- assasin, on 04/27/2009, -0/+1Is this just pull or will it be push?
I can just imagine online vendors spamming my profile:
Assasin just bought a double ended purple colon tickler on pervy-parts online
10 minutes ago. Comment Like
edit - I typed that out loud didn't I? :( - sickswaystop, on 04/27/2009, -0/+1pull of course, into facebook applications im assuming
- hypografik, on 04/27/2009, -0/+1Does this mean even more applications spam in my feed now? More Quiz? Thanks, that's exactly what I needed.
Now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure FB's developers and designers have no friends. That could explain why they don't see all the ***** they've been throwing into it lately. - hyderalamgir, on 04/28/2009, -0/+1Please read etiquettes of using the sarcasm tag
- hyderalamgir, on 04/28/2009, -0/+1If you guys would read before commenting, you'd realize that unlike Twitter, Facebook will only showing feeds of the logged in user and will not be making the information publicly available.
- inactive, on 04/27/2009, -6/+6I really wish everyone on facebook and twitter would have a huge meet up and then get destroyed by a tornado made out of sharks and volcanoes.
- peterkao, on 04/27/2009, -1/+1Just as long as I won't have to see Beacon again or see it turn into Beacon 2.0 - I will be a happy digger.
- serif69, on 04/27/2009, -1/+1API FTW
Seriously, I use twitter, but rarely the twitter site, because 3rd party apps are much better. I anticipate a similar outcome for Facebook. - Bloodwine, on 04/27/2009, -1/+1It's probably the FB biz folks demanding all this *****.
- inactive, on 04/27/2009, -3/+2Now I don't ever have to leave my house! Going out and talking to people is so web 1.0!
- mocomber, on 04/27/2009, -1/+0There is a fantastic book that talks about the ability for users to get in deep with these new web companies: What would google do
http://www.amazon.com/What-Would-Google-Jeff-Jarvi ... - foohookups311, on 04/27/2009, -6/+3genius line. LITERALLY LOL
- inactive, on 04/27/2009, -7/+4Myspace is as good as dead. How soon until facebook follows the same path?
- tdcrooks, on 04/27/2009, -4/+1I can't believe people still use Facebook. Sure it can keep you connected to people you know, but really, any social networking site can do the same. Facebook just got lucky with popularity. I still have an account, but I never go on.
- bushnoh, on 04/27/2009, -6/+2Time to delete my profile me thinks. Sod developers, how do users feel about the sharing of more information?
- radiofrequency, on 04/27/2009, -11/+5Buried as spam. ***** facebook.
