- Yuglooc, on 01/28/2009, -1/+227My mom added me on facebook :(
- MtheoryX, on 01/29/2009, -1/+132I super poked your mom.
- absolutelytrue, on 05/26/2009, -5/+131Ok, it's our fault anyway, we taught them how to use e-mail and it just went from there.
- ghunda, on 01/29/2009, -1/+90This is great news for my cougar hunting.
- jstohler, on 01/29/2009, -1/+86What are all these old people doing using my Facebook?
Oh wait, I'm 39. Nevermind. - AlaskaLoneWolf, on 01/29/2009, -15/+87Facebook = the MySpace for intelligent people.
- 818digg, on 01/28/2009, -1/+61both my parents just got it.
- geogeer, on 01/28/2009, -5/+63My age group, but I'll be darned if I join up. What a waste of time, unlike Digg.... doh.
- DarkerMaster, on 01/29/2009, -8/+63So now Facebook is uncool...
- REBECCAFRIEDMAN, on 01/29/2009, -0/+44This is no surprise. My husband is turning 41, and he spends half the day on facebook, as do our friends - posting pictures of your kids is the new thing amongst the 30-40 something crowd!
- Advercation, on 01/29/2009, -0/+42I've heard rumors that teens are looking for an alternative to facebook since their parents are lurking on there now.
- lepetitmousse, on 01/28/2009, -8/+50this is so not ok.
- hiPpymIck, on 01/29/2009, -1/+42 will there be LOLKids...?
- praisethelard, on 01/29/2009, -0/+40The line is actually starting to blur...
- allothersnsused, on 01/29/2009, -2/+39In other news, 14-24 year olds everywhere are mortified.
- APHughes, on 01/29/2009, -2/+39I facebooked your mom last night
- inactive, on 01/29/2009, -1/+37On the other hand, 35-54 year olds (and older) invented e-mail, the Internet, SMTP and TCP/IP protocols.
- maximilen, on 01/28/2009, -11/+45My MILF neighbor added me on facebook :)
- staffell, on 01/29/2009, -1/+31you already said that in your reply to the first post
- inactive, on 01/29/2009, -1/+30No Mom, I don't want to be your zombie-pal.
- Dan6963, on 01/29/2009, -0/+27She added me too :)
- inactive, on 01/29/2009, -0/+26Hey dear, I just finished uploading your baby pictures on Facebook.
- DirtyVicar, on 01/29/2009, -1/+27Well, I have yet to log into Facebook and get blasted with Nickelback and a chaotic mix of shoutouts and flashing banners.
- inactive, on 01/29/2009, -3/+29I denied my moms request.
I'm all like "EF YOU MOM! WHERE's MY MEATLOOOOOAF!" - inactive, on 01/29/2009, -2/+27uggh i have to admit im am one of the 276%....
- ronfez, on 01/29/2009, -3/+26Now?
- michaelpinto, on 01/29/2009, -3/+26With the recession in full swing and folks looking to do business networking I think the graying of social media will be THE trend of 2009. These networks will go from being party platforms to the "must have" category for the masses. Youth and geeks will protest at first, but then they'll find new hangouts...
- fabkebab, on 01/29/2009, -0/+22That's the thing- Facebook is so good for when you move a long way away from your college friends etc -
It only becomes valuable as you would normally start to "lose touch" as you all go your separate ways, but now you can be aware of what all your friends are doing (I also am in the 30-40 crowd)
The kids (10-25 year olds) don't see the full value of the service because they are all still living in thier parents home in the same neighborhood/towns as each other - inactive, on 01/29/2009, -1/+23Why? We built your porn bank for you, sonny. Show some ***** respect.
- flamyngo, on 01/29/2009, -1/+21This explains why my grandma came to me the other day and asked if I had the Facespace....
- inactive, on 01/29/2009, -1/+19I'm one too, and it has nothing to do with being shallow. It has to do with being a little older and getting a great thrill out of getting back in touch with old friends. I suspect our age set doesn't look at facebook to find new people at all.
- Vorcht, on 01/29/2009, -1/+19Looks like Chris Hansen will have is work cut out for him.
- inactive, on 01/29/2009, -0/+17Taking massive ***** rit now. Out of TP, someone send help!
- djodorg, on 01/29/2009, -0/+16I am one of them users.
- billbugger, on 01/28/2009, -0/+16Mine too :-\
- inactive, on 01/29/2009, -2/+16The Hubb's just added all the kiddie's, I'm sure they're all thrilled ;o
- inactive, on 01/29/2009, -0/+13already blurred . tired of all these facebook apps.
- hawksfan03, on 01/29/2009, -1/+13my parents have no idea what facebook is, but they do have linkedin accounts
- huffnpuff, on 01/29/2009, -0/+12This is truth.
- spepin, on 01/29/2009, -1/+13My mom has tried adding me, but I left her in limbo.
- HigherLogic, on 01/29/2009, -1/+13I've been noticing that there have been a lot more older people on Facebook in the last couple months. I got a friend request about a month ago from my mom, and while I was hesitant to add her at first, I'm glad I did. After I added her, I noticed a lot of my relatives were on there too and started getting friend requests from them. So it's been really nice actually to use Facebook to keep in touch with relatives who I'd otherwise only talk to maybe once every 5-10 years. My youngest brother and sister won't add my mom though (18 and 16 respectively), but I guess I can understand that at their age.

- mbfielding, on 01/29/2009, -2/+13"...continued to grow the fastest, but it excelerated to a 276.%..."
There is a serious grammatical error here, and I'm quite disappointed in all the people above me for not pointing it out. - euro22, on 01/30/2009, -0/+10MILF..
Mothers I'd Like to Facebook - HigherLogic, on 01/29/2009, -0/+10@ptsuk: No, because it's actually really nice to have them on there. Some of us actually do use Facebook for keeping up with family and real friends.
- TexasDigger, on 01/29/2009, -5/+15Don't accept her. Your mom probably won't understand Facebook anyway. Just tell her she is doing it wrong, and that is why she can't see your page. That usually work for me.
- HastyNameChoice, on 01/29/2009, -0/+9"but it excelerated to a 276.%"
It's hard to place much stock in an article that hasn't bothered to use spell check. - bamatime, on 01/29/2009, -0/+9http://www.google.com/trends?q=facebook%2C+myspace ...
- Coffeedemon, on 01/29/2009, -0/+9Totally agree. I might not have the time or the inclination to write newsletters to all of my old friends and relatives who are now scattered all over the world but now in 5 minutes I can keep up with all of them and the major events in their lives.
- eriku, on 01/29/2009, -3/+12My parents are here now. Time to go! What's the next stupid social network?
