I tried Plaxo once and didn't really get it. Bad UI or bad marketing but I just found it annoying. Same thing with Spock. I tried it for several months and I still don't know WTF it is supposed to do for me.

LinkedIn and Facebook both do a much better job of letting you understand and control what information you are sharing with others.

Now Facebook can send you an email every ten seconds to remind you to update your contact info (and please sign up for Plaxo) so some dude (that you can't remember meeting) can keep track of who bought you a round of virtual drinks. Anyone who uses Plaxo is my enemy.

My high school business teacher used to talk about his sons company Plaxo all the time and how he got 20 million dollars in investment capital. I never believed him. This was about 4 years ago. I told him that it would never work anyways. Boy was i horribly wrong.
