- BeeArePro, on 08/22/2008, -3/+30Yay more addons that you'll never use.
- Rekzai, on 08/22/2008, -1/+20Read It Later looks really useful, the rest are okay i guess.
- Zakalwe2, on 08/22/2008, -0/+13Fire.fm is very cool.
- serif69, on 08/22/2008, -0/+12Nice title. I thought Mozilla Labs gave themselves an award.
- Sephr, on 08/22/2008, -0/+10What are you talking about? Read It Later has had a Firefox 3 version for a while. Heck, I'm using it right now on this blog post.
- wukillabee, on 08/22/2008, -0/+10wow you need to socialize some more..
- RadiatedAnt, on 08/22/2008, -0/+8I think the bookmarking business is clogging the extension market. Seriously people need to can the bookmarking programs its getting crowded. What they should do is combine every strength and style into one holy grail of bookmarking greatness
- bjornski, on 08/22/2008, -0/+7I'll be using "Read it later" like crazy.
- grumpy1377, on 08/22/2008, -0/+7getting read it later, saves me from digging / bookmarking articles for reading later which i find were actually pointless then undigg it quickly before it gets to the front page *breathe*
- DanAtkinson, on 08/22/2008, -0/+6It does. But, because it's an experimental add-on, you need to login/register before installing it.

In that case, ***** you, 2 of my friends died liking turtles. - erzhaosong2000, on 08/22/2008, -1/+5Don't feed the troll.
- cyberwiz01, on 08/22/2008, -0/+4Poor zombie kid.
- rodrigo74, on 08/22/2008, -1/+5Read it Later was a nice discovery, I like how it integrates on the address bar.
- Culyt, on 08/22/2008, -0/+3The delicious extension has it, plus you get online access to your bookmarks.
I do miss the folder structure somewhat but I think I'll stick with delicious. - Atomic1fire, on 08/22/2008, -1/+3Don't feed the troll and it will go back under the bridge it came out of.
- Dalhectar, on 08/22/2008, -0/+2FireFox 3 is a memory hog for me, but it's more stable. Right now I'm using 141,000K with 2 extensions (ad-block+ and noscript) and this page as the only tab.
- darlingt, on 08/22/2008, -1/+3That's Firefox 2... time for an update?
http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/ - HolyMan28, on 08/22/2008, -1/+3Good thing I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THE ***** THAT MEANS.
- LymanZerga, on 08/22/2008, -0/+2Dugg for Fire.fm
- aserer511, on 08/22/2008, -0/+2go FF3; modular programs ftmfw
- Twister47, on 08/22/2008, -0/+2Type your keywords into the location bar (Awesome bar)
- virtualonliner, on 08/22/2008, -3/+5Most of those add-ons are almost unknown. Wonder how many people will actually use them. And what's up with Mozilla labs and tags?
- ZimFreak, on 08/22/2008, -1/+3I love read it later. My bookmarks toolbar always used to get flooded with things that was just a one time read.
- indochris609, on 08/23/2008, -0/+1I long for the days when people will finally realize 99% of comments on digg are sarcasm, especially when the article itself is sub par.
- Len4a, on 08/29/2008, -0/+1Yes, HandyTag is pretty cool addon!
- cheaptricks, on 08/22/2008, -0/+1I just now installed that. It's awesome
- latrosicarius, on 08/22/2008, -0/+1Try Download Statusbar. it owns the default download manager
- Pinasco, on 08/22/2008, -0/+1Wow, over 100 entries. Pretty underwhelming Firefox. I will still use, War Pencil.
- Cooperfan, on 08/22/2008, -0/+1I use Taboo :)
- kenok, on 08/22/2008, -2/+3Pencil and Read It Later extensions are useful.
- SteveMax, on 08/22/2008, -0/+1futureb, thanks for the suggestion. However, it didn't help much, as you can see (top output):
PID...... USER..... PR NI VIRT... RES... SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+... COMMAND
20588 xxxxxxx 20. 0.. 1181m 582m 21m S 1.3........ 58.2..... 49:06.26 firefox
(dots added to keep the columns aligned)
It's using 582MB already, in around three hours of heavy usage. I really don't know whether this is something from my machine (I use Gentoo AMD64, but the browser is compiled with default settings), from my usage, or a general problem that is somehow enhanced by one of those factors. - inactive, on 08/22/2008, -1/+2You fail at trolling.
- LokitheComplex, on 08/22/2008, -1/+2I could do with an addon that lets me search my bookmarks by the keywords suuplied by the bookmarked pages.
- KevinJim, on 08/22/2008, -0/+1Belive it or not, I don't use Bookmarks... Yeah, I'm not crazy I just find Google Notes with the very useful FF addon for it, to kick any other bookmark-tag function-whatever ass. I used del.icio.us but the search at the time sucked big time ( I don't know about now ). So any Bookmark addon is just useless for me. Fire.fm might be useful though.
- Zippo, on 08/22/2008, -2/+3AdBlock Plus is the only extension I use. Tis all I need.
- JoeVet, on 08/22/2008, -0/+1Now if they could only get CNN videos to work on FF3 without having to clear the cashe each time.
- Culyt, on 08/22/2008, -0/+1Filterset.G autoupdator.
I hardly ever have to actually choose to block ads, they are just blocked for me %95 of the time. - futureb, on 08/22/2008, -0/+1https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/597 ...
- lornefs, on 08/22/2008, -0/+1Huh...where am I.....oh, sorry, I fell asleep..............
- SapientWolf, on 08/22/2008, -0/+0I want to go back to the Read it Later website but I don't feel like cluttering my bookmarks.
- SteveMax, on 08/22/2008, -1/+1I'm using Firefox 3 on Linux right now. I have three windows open, with a grand total of 38 tabs. My workflow with it is very similar to how I used Seamonkey, Opera, Camino and Safari (all four on my laptop, only Seamonkey and Opera on this desktop). What I see is that Firefox uses MUCH more RAM than Opera and Seamonkey after a few hours of use. I have to restart Firefox every day, or it will use up more than half a GB easily (I have only 1GB here). Closing tabs or windows doesn't seem to reclaim RAM, and the RAM usage grows constantly during the day. With other browsers, I only have to close them if something goes wrong.
I'm a pretty heavy tab user, though, so my results may be more extreme than most. It is infinitely better than Firefox 2, of course, but it still uses more RAM than even the Seamonkey suite, which I use for both email and web browsing. Adding up the usage of Firefox and Thunderbird drives the usage total to at least 3x what Seamonkey use for both functions.
It could be a problem with extensions (Adblock Plus, Delicious, Flashblock, ForecastFox and Undo Closed Tabs), of course; but considering that Opera (for example) has all of those except for Delicious built-in, I need those to get the same experience I'm used to. Besides, even before installing extensions, I could see its usage being a bit too high over small periods.
Is there a way to limit memory usage by a given extension? I'm sure that would make Firefox much more competitive in this regard. - murtazak52, on 08/22/2008, -1/+0i ♥ FF3...
- iofthestorm, on 08/22/2008, -5/+4Pencil seems useful for prototyping applications quickly though. The rest are ok, not amazing. A lot of the tagging related ones seem like they would be nice to have though. Tagsifter seems like it should be built in, although I guess you can see bookmarks sorted by tags in the Bookmarks Library.
Webchunks actually seem kind of useful too. - Atomic1fire, on 08/22/2008, -3/+1Or doing this

Pencil can make a great toy if used right
(I pretty much just copied this pic from my other comment at the other extend Firefox 3 contest submission and yes I totally made it) - snapcase, on 08/22/2008, -3/+1Seems a lot like Google Notebook to me.
- mynameistux, on 08/22/2008, -5/+3I see what you ... wait, wtf?
- Adenosine, on 08/22/2008, -4/+1I don't think it would be for me.
I use the star feature in Google Reader as a 'read it later' tag, I know have 175 unread article awaiting my lazy eyes.
I need less information in my life, not more. -
