The bottom line is engaging content, solid meta tags, and others who are willing to link to your site. All of this has to be legitimate; and it takes quality time. Don't try to fool Google! The algorithm always catches up.

There are plenty of malicious people out there willing to profit from people's general ignorance about SEO. The more articles like this that are published, the more likely people are to educate themselves BEFORE hiring an SEO. We will all benefit from there being less general ignorance regarding the field of SEO.

It isn't just the companies in India, its the shady "get rich quick" schemes promising to teach you how to make money on the internet. You can't learn this stuff by paying someone $99.95 to learn the secret "dark art" of SEO.
