Ethernet Powered Computer

news.bbc.co.uk — The idea of having a computer powered by an Ethernet cable is quite interesting. The technology developed by DSP Design has a power limit of 15.4 watts-- DSP design produced a computer, the Poet 6000 that uses only 12watts by carefully choosing the components, based on their power-consumption.

  • jadewolf, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Neat idea to say the least. As far as DC powered homes and Edison, pah both have their uses, besides 90 percent of the stuff you have in your home is DC anyways besides AC rocks on the distribution front.

It's also interesting to see that Edison was essentially correct in thinking that DC is the future, not AC. The only problem at the time was the constant need for repeater stations...which may or may not still be a problem nowadays.
