- codyman, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11"What's that one for?"
"USB Awareness"
"Whats USB"
"It's tied in with memory"
"Like Alzheimers?"
"Well... when they crash, yes" - kiwimonk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I saw this in Target the other day. ha . almost bought it until i read 128mb.. Still waiting for condoms with built in flash memory. so at least i'll have a reason to take it outa my wallet once in a while
- Nicodemus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3They should slap a cheap little clock on there so its a watch too. The battery could be recharged through the usb power.
- slantyeyed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3and when someone asks you what cause your wristband is for you can say, "USB Drive Awareness"
- bonlebon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3if something happens to you, they can download your info plus some pr0n you can leave as tip.
- Eaglefire, on 11/10/2007, -0/+3"what moron would wear a rubber band around their wrist"
I assume you know the original wristbands were sold to raise money for cancer research. - leboff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2ive been lookin for something like this for quite sometime... makes it much harder to lose/forget.. granted it doesnt come unattached too easily
- sremick, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Umm... 256MB? Maybe a few years ago.
No thanks. My 1GB isn't even big enough anymore, and I bought it a while ago. - usergentoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1when I first seen this I thought what moron would wear a rubber band around their wrist. Then I seen the wristband usb drive and thought that is actually cool. You know we get searched by security for things like a thumb drive but maybe they wouldnt notice the wristband. We will see...
- BirkBum, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Maybe I'm a nerd but I would actually wear one of these...I constantly forget the USB drive I have now.
- danny520, on 07/08/2008, -0/+1I've seen the new about it in reuters.com and geeklerts, http://www.geekalerts.com/4gb-usb-flash-memory-wri ...
and i've got it from
http://www.sourcingmap.com/coollook-usb-wristband- ... - yogurtslinger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1one size fits some, i don't think they are elastic, patrick from dl.tv couldn't fit it around his wrist
- dragonecc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Can't believe some of this people saying that is a bad product ... well it maybe bad cause of it huge size compare to does wristband everybody else wear but is a cool idea if they only make smaller so it fits like the others wristband then perfect ... no matter what I may buy one cause I hated carrying my USB on my pockets or on my neck
- thecoolestcow, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"They should slap a cheap little clock on there so its a watch too. The battery could be recharged through the usb power."
Sweet idea dude. - Cerberus047, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1yeah people laugh at it now but when they release the 2 gig ones and i have mounds of porn on my wrist we will see who has the last laugh...
- alexmiller, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1they can't though- tthe usb plug would break, also the memory chips are lager anyway.
- imightbewrong, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1im thinking maybe a hard drive based belt would be better, one terabyte on me at all times!!! and stylish!
- danny520, on 07/28/2008, -0/+1http://www.sourcingmap.com/coollook-usb-wristband- ...
See this from Geekalerts - HiddenS3crets, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Should be in Target stores by the end of January, as in now? =)
- shananies, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So what happens if you get it wet??
- mycroft, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0
Wow, I would actually use this! The idea of a clock rocks, athough I could think of some cool things to put on a mini LCD with it! - keek4jc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Old news, I saw this on DL.TV weeks ago.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They could at least make it into a watch or something. I wouldn't wear it because of the ugly logo. I also doubt that it would fit into those obscure USB ports on the front of the Dell computers at my school. Even with my little flash drive, I have to bring a cable. What was Dell they thinking when they designed those USB ports at such an angle that you have to put your head flat on the table and look up just to get it in the hole.
- tmcleroy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0dude merdeisel is so right. those yellow wristbands are extremely stupid. and nervousduck, any idiot (most Dell customers) could find those usb and audio ports behind that little door
- geeko, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0See, they'd be real smart if they incorporated a small USB Hub into the device, so when you unhooked it from your wrist, the female side of the band which used to hold the USB plug in place would become another USB port for another device you could daisy chain off of it.
- guerchmann, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This was posted in some sites during the CES and now someone post this like "news"???? Old news, it is...
- Bobster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I just bought one of the black ones at Target today. It STINKS!!!! SMELLS LIKE INSECICIDE. did anybody else have one that smells like this? It's unwearable if it smells like this...
- The_Dude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice ugly grey color too. Nerd approved for sure.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Id get one. Especially because you dont need any special drivers or installation software. I hate having to install stuff on school computers just so i can get presentations to work :("
Unless you are going to my school, they are so cheap ;P Windows 98! You have to get drivers anyways cause they only come standard on 2000 up ;D - MikeCampo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow I can't believe how far that stupid livestrong wristband fad has traveled...
- danmanx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm definitely getting one of these. Absolutely incredible design into one of gay Lance's bracelet fads!
- cyberair, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is it WATERPROOF? I want to get in the shower, and the swim with it!! lol
- linkvx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i'd buy one, my usb drive is always getting lost :(
norm usb drives cost to much as it is, so maybe i wouldn't lol - steveo2112, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I just bought one of these at Target today.
I love this type of geeky stuff. - RBasil, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ANOTHER dupe.
- Mongoose, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0OMFG!!! That's so cool!!! Jesus, that is the PERFECT nerd accessory.
- merdeisel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0that in a black is still pretty cool.
- NervousDuck, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A note about Dell's stupid USB ports, they wised up and didn't hide them under a cover in their new models. I've had users break off the cover they were so pissed they couldn't see where to plug in their headphones. Also, on the bands, I think it's a good, creative use of something that's already out there. A flexable iPod shuffle/watch in the works?
- Squill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Starting in January, the Imation Flash Wristband will be available in blue and black colors in the USA, for a suggested retail price of US$34.99."
http://www.geekzone.co.nz/content.asp?contentid=5711 - AdamCo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That think looks huge from the link spiffytech posted.
- facelessmanchs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice...Every geek should have one! Dugg!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i may get one my lexer jump drive 1gb is to chunky i cant get it in with out a cable o teh ibm dexktops because of the front panle
- h4lofourt33n, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That is so cool! Wow! Digg ++
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Cool tech.
- gingi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm a cyclist and a software geek, so this is just perfect. I never take off my Livestrong band, especially when I ride (and sweat a lot). So as long as my sweat doesn't corrode the USB interface, I'ma get me one. It would also be great to be able to somehow integrate it with a heart-rate monitor; those usually have limited memory capacities so they limit the sampling interval, especially over a long ride.
- Hella, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0geek gear
- sishgupta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yeah if its waterproof id wear it. Or minimally water resistant.
- hensonkid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0256MB is a touch small, but if they could be daisy-chained, that would be prety cool.
I mean, cool with the qualification that you're still wearing a freaking bracelet. - pseudoCode, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0is it water resistant? Otherwise I see no point of releasing something like that.
- karn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is it water-proof? Who actually takes off their bracelets or watches when they wash their hands? And it looks huge, either that or the person who reviewed it has very feminine hands...
