- comrade693, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2why use a bookmarklet, when you can use Greasemonkey (http://greasemonkey.mozdev.org/)?
- amihaic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1oh fer chrissake people, you're starting to sound like those serial commenters on /.
i like bookmarklets, but i'd like a list of more useful ones. the ones i use are to post to delicious, flickr, subscribe to bloglines and add to technorati.
how 'bout a digg bookmarklet? - WillyWonka, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The only bookmarklet that I use on a regular basis looks for image links in the page and opens them up in one long list. Great for viewing galleries (Although it doesn't work when the images are on sub .html files)... with slight mods you can get it to work better with specific sites.
Google for "Jesse's bookmarklets" - knot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0anyone know more?
- theonegreen, on 05/16/2009, -0/+0Because bookmarklets are cross platform meaning they often work on most browsers (Firefox, IE, Chrome, Safari). Check out www.bmlet.com for a huge list of bookmarklets.
- DardanAeneas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Yah, and there's more if you get the comments in this link: http://www.lifehacker.com/software/feature/special-geek-to-live-129141.php
You'd think for a professional digger, AP would be learning to get the facts right... uh oh, now he's gonna send a hit squad. - AmateurX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0maybe there are two that aren't "must have"
- jabfish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0most useful bookmarklet ever not even on that site:
Printer Friendly:
javascript:(function(){function linkIsSafe(h){return(!/^mailto:/.exec(h)&&!/^javascript:/.exec(h));} var i,x,h; for(i=0;x=document.getElementsByTagName('a')[i];i++) { h=x.innerHTML.toLowerCase(); if(h.indexOf('print')>-1 && h.indexOf('edition')==-1 && h.indexOf('subscri')==-1 && h.indexOf('reprint')==-1 && h.indexOf('slogan')==-1 && linkIsSafe(x.href)) { x.focus();location=x.href;return; }}})()
*crosses fingers hoping digg doesn't fubar up the post* - pcgeek101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0bookmarklets are great idea (just learned what they are), but I only see about two on this page that are *actually* at all useful (I liked the wikipedia lookup idea)
- pmhesse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ten?
- eschatonik, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Heavy /.'ers may want to consider the "Defuglify Slashdot" bookmarklet. When clicked, it loads your current /. page in the standard "green" theme. Anyone who has been blinded by the IT or GAMES theme knows why this is the greatest favlet ever.

awesome bookmarklet - raindog469, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Everyone is gonna have a different definition of "must-have bookmarklets". The one bookmarklet I put on every computer I use for more than about 10 minutes is "show all linked images", from pornzilla and Jesse's bookmarklets and any number of other sites out there. It's not actually all that useful for pr0n (pr0n sites were the first to cloak images in javascript and Flickr-style gallery pages), but it's good for most collections of screenshots.
- ebenthurston, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the cookie ones are great. dugg.
- neutrino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0flattop - you have a friend who dug this story, that's what the green banner means.
I think the GmailThis! bookmarklet, which I've only had for a few days, is the one I've gotten the most use out of. - TCDToxic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I went to the site and made 4 of them. VERY USEFULL! Look at the rest. Digg!
- Zoobster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0These are Must-Have? How are these Must-Have? I can look things up a whole lot easier using Google's search bar than any of these lookup bookmarklets.
Give me a bookmarklet that defeats popups (javascript:void()) on a click. Now THAT'S a must-have. These are just must-put-in-the-closet-and-bring-out-when-aunt-betty-comes-into-town. - ashembers, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0hating to be picky, but this should really be filed under "Design" instead of "Technology".
- dbr_onix, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Erm, pointless?
For wikipedia search, type
wiki TheWord
For Urban Dictionary
slang TheWord
The others aren't that usefull either, but meh, someone will find it usefull, and the unhide password thing could be usefull once in a while..

- flattop, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0What is the green banner with a star in it for again? I am not getting it again. I am slow today.

- adam.skinner, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0On /., serial commenters comment on you!
- Fourzero, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0First of all there are 10. Second of all they all suck!
- kyle133, on 10/12/2007, -4/+0have a look at this...
