Even simpler, without the crappy ads. - nbx909, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2ipchicken.com is easy
- Lorian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That gives the IP of my ISP's proxy, you should make it check for the x_forwarded_for header.
- sahaskatta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1why is this special? there are a million other sites that do the same thing?
and btw "efnip.com" is not an easy to remember URL ! - Lorian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It shows my IP as 80.4.xxx.xxx (proxy), when it is really 81.99.xxx.xxx (real). I am not talking about local 192.168.xxx.xxx.
- jasqwerty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Why would I remember efn? whatismyip for the win, absolutely. And this isn't my WAN IP address, it's my IP as seen from the internet, which is a wan, but not the only one in existance.
- pjmorr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Um maybe they dont get it. F'in IP.... you know, like a curse word. Jeesh are you guys dense. Also, fewer letters to type... No banners/adds/spambots/etc.. simple and clean
- kemalt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://www.whatismyip.us is more functional
- jwhowa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I used the remote_addr header because that is the IP address websites will "see" you as. Are you saying it would be useful to have your "real" (192.168.0.x or the like) IP address show up too?
- jwhowa, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Agreed, this site does nothing new or special, except that it makes me smile when I type efnip "effing IP" and press CTRL-Enter for the autocomplete. Less characters to type = good in my opinion... :) But hey, use whichever service floats your boat...
