- t0x2c, on 06/05/2009, -1/+19Finally something I can get behind. The EFF knows what technology means, they're the one electronic rights group in this world which has views that make sense.
- louiebaur, on 06/04/2009, -1/+13That Godaddy example is exactly the kind of thing that just gets changed and you have no clue about it. Great idea!
- joshmoney, on 06/05/2009, -0/+9EFF the RIAA!
- spookyttws, on 06/05/2009, -3/+9But who will watch EFF TOS?!
- sithyiscool, on 06/05/2009, -1/+7Just scroll down and accept. Give away all your free will to the Overlords
- spriggig, on 06/05/2009, -1/+6Dugg because EFF is on my side and your side too.
- jaythree9, on 06/05/2009, -0/+4EFF this stupid site. The press release from EFF itself:

- deema1, on 06/05/2009, -0/+3EFF for internet czar!
- copypastry, on 06/05/2009, -0/+2Where will they store the TOSs? in a TOSpot?
- secondwheel2, on 06/05/2009, -0/+1Becasue we haven't
- xtreme571, on 06/05/2009, -1/+2***** THE RIAA AND MPAA!!!
- bbbreak, on 06/05/2009, -0/+1Sadly, you're wrong on your last statement.
Almost any single TOS that I've read has included that it has the ability to change the TOS rules without your consent or acknowledgment, and don't have to let you know whatsoever.
It also normally states that it is your job to watch the TOS and check for changes.
So once you sign a TOS like that, they could change it to "We now own your soul, all of your money and possessions" etc etc, and you WOULD be legally bound by this. Those ***** snakes. - Ymeg, on 06/05/2009, -0/+1If they put that in the TOS, it lets them. You don't lose any of your rights if they change it. It is your responsibility and your mutual agreement with them.
- Khast, on 06/05/2009, -1/+1Sadly, it isn't just eBay which does this. Most TOS have this in their wording as well. At least eBay's wasn't that big of a change that it would become a problem....however...
Just because I click "I Agree" doesn't mean I lose all rights.
(You do know in the wording of eBay's seller TOS that by agreeing, you cannot sell items on another site...but also if interpreted, could mean anywhere off the site, including yard sales, ect...) - Khast, on 06/05/2009, -1/+1As a seller/buyer on eBay, I am actually disappointed in eBay, as they *used* to send out e-mails detailing what has changed in the TOS....I never received either the old or the updated versions on the site....
Sad part about it is, even though they never notified about the change, I am still accountable to the new TOS....
Just because you read the TOS doesn't mean they can't go and change it on you without letting you know about it.
