- thenativeraver, on 11/09/2007, -46/+529Thanks for the spam!
- Pattyo13, on 05/14/2009, -36/+407yea, and killer digg username
- bryant, on 10/12/2007, -7/+159@canadian guy:
So the gist of what you just said is that google, too, has stolen every little bit of content on the web with their "Google Cache."
And not to mention Coral Cache and WayBack Machine. - navster15, on 10/12/2007, -10/+147@ canadianguy33
duggmirror only 'steals' content when diggers use it while the original site is still up. However, duggmirror provides a valuable service if and when sites that are linked by digg collapse. - khag7, on 10/12/2007, -7/+125In case it goes down
http://www.duggmirror.com - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+120Haha, wow thanks guys. So a few questions were posed. First of all, sorry about posting my website, it is just a habit and I do it on most forums. Second, that was my prom date from a while ago, not my sister or my girlfriend (don't be a player hater). I took down my personal info (thanks for the advice), I never really thought about it because nobody ever actually goes to my site (evidenced by the site design!). For everybody that buried me, I'm sorry it truly was accidental. Uhh yeah, have a good day.
- Pattyo13, on 05/14/2009, -6/+104then you should be on digg more often - what else do you do during the day?
- IvanB, on 10/12/2007, -1/+96DuggMirror isn't owned by Digg. At least, I think so.
- jguy584, on 10/12/2007, -14/+100@canadian guy
How do you think that duggmirror pays for all the bandwidth it uses? Let me tell you that it isnt free, nor is it cheap. Therefore there must be ads on the site in order to pay the bills.
Do them a favor and click on some of the ads on their site too. - Karmalary, on 10/18/2007, -2/+73I never leave the site. The porn is on another tab.
- paulmdx, on 10/12/2007, -7/+70@canadianguy33:
"They basically steal content when it's popular and benefit from the ad revenue"
They use at least some of that money for decent bandwidth and servers.
"while the authors get ***** all."
If the author wants lots of money from ads, they need the bandwidth and servers to back it up.
Edit: What jguy584 said. - ersnyder, on 10/12/2007, -10/+62@ babemgnt101
I don't normally click on peoples shameless self site promotions. But I must say, your site is amazingly horrific to look at. Are you color blind?! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -5/+52I'm actually curious about what would happen if a mirror of a mirror actually took place.
For this to happen, you would have to submit an article of a non-existant page that would eventually be created by duggmirror. E.g. You would have to submit a digg article linking to something like: http://duggmirror.com/tech_news/this_is_a_dugg_mirror_test
Then when you physically go to http://duggmirror.com/tech_news/this_is_a_dugg_mirror_test, theoretically it should go into an infinite loop and screw up the server unless they have a safeguard against something like this.
I created an article.. digg it so we can see what happens.
http://digg.com/tech_news/this_is_a_dugg_mirror_test - Hootyea, on 10/18/2007, -9/+56If Digg had a porn section, I would never leave this site.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+46He has apologized on his site for spamming Digg.
- TheWorm, on 10/12/2007, -4/+41"I apologize sincerely for the "spam." It will not happen again. It was seriously just habitual since I usually post my website in forums. But I realize that is of course not a good idea and you have cured me of that problem. Thanks to everybody that has prank called me, e-mailed me, and IMed me. I enjoyed hearing what you did or didn't have to say! Have a nice day."
I don't think he meant any harm. Let him off.
Although -611 is almost something to be proud of. - perkonis, on 10/12/2007, -2/+36I'm afraid to click that link. I don't want to be the one responsible for ending the universe.
- amandaw33, on 10/12/2007, -9/+43re: babemgnt101
I hope people utilize the digg block/report user for spam like this.
I know I try to, and I feel like if more diggers used the feature digg might benefit overall (digg effect on the idiots per se)
PS I didn't reply to his post because once I block him the replies are gone too - mrfish, on 10/12/2007, -5/+38Ouch, don't post personal info buddy. I'd take it down quick.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -12/+41@neuroticus- because he spammed his site in his sig
- shreveyboy, on 10/12/2007, -9/+36@neuroticus - That's not his girlfriend, that's his sister. She's way to hot for him.
- mississippiman, on 10/12/2007, -75/+101apparently this kid was dumb enough to post his cell number..
847.271.9187
who wants to give him a call? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+27I don't usually block people _because_ you can't see the replies. Sometimes there is good content in the replies

Hello, world!
< /body >
< /html > - sicc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22I don't think dugg mirror needs any love, when a site goes down they get plenty of love from digg in the form of ad revenue.
- inactive, on 10/18/2007, -7/+26I don't use it every day...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+21@canadianguy'
You think you got dugg down huge?!
I'm just saying... - greenrider, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19Let's hope duggmirror mirrors itself in case we're about to bring it down
- terrablebyte, on 10/12/2007, -3/+19Yes.
http://duggmirror.com.nyud.net:8090/tech_news/DuggMirror_We_all_use_it_every_day_Time_to_show_it_some_love_by_digging/ - perkonis, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17If we get a coral cache of the duggmirror page mirroring the dugmirror page, will the universe implode?
- TH3W1R3D, on 10/12/2007, -3/+18We don't need to digg this.
- dajs, on 10/12/2007, -4/+19@ babemgnt101: -461 isnt bad ;)
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+17Yeah and counting. Who would have guessed I would get the most digg-downs in history? Not me, that's for sure.
http://digg.com/tech_news/The_Most_Hated_Comment_on_Digg
Digg that. - bigtomrodney, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Slashdot does have a mirroring site - http://www.mirrordot.org/
I don't think it's owned by them, but that is also the case with duggmirror afaik. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14you're catching up to deeznuts420 for most buried comment ever
http://digg.com/hardware/James_Kim_s_Body_Found#c4143973 - SimonDonkers, on 10/12/2007, -2/+14From the Slashdot FAQ ( http://slashdot.org/faq/suggestions.shtml#su900 )
"Sure, it's a great idea, but it has a lot of implications. For example, commercial sites rely on their banner ads to generate revenue. If I cache one of their pages, this will mess with their statistics, and mess with their banner ads. In other words, this will piss them off.
(...)"
The same would apply for Digg. Mirrordot and Duggmirror are to my knowledge both independent sites not run by the official site. That means Kevin Rose doesn't have to worry about copyright issues for this.
Now go digg me down for linking to the competition. - rompom7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13I wrote this bookmarklet for duggmirror a while ago, anyway, add this to your bookmarks, go to the comments page of the digg story and click it when it is down:
javascript:window.location.href=window.location.href.replace('digg', 'duggmirror'); - zach382, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11I thought most diggers used Firefox with adblock...
- MeltedUFO, on 10/12/2007, -2/+11Wow! -1124 diggs for babemgnt101! Congrats thats a new record according to this http://insidesocialnews.blogspot.com/2006/11/most-buried-comments-in-digg-history.html
- homestar2525, on 10/12/2007, -3/+12Yea, this guy just wanted front page and diggs. It's not like anyone didn't know about duggmirror before this... aside from a few dunderheads like that babemgnt guy. Seriously, enough of these "show them we love them by digging" scams.

< title >Title Goes Here< /title >
< /head > - itsamix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I agree!
- dhuck, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8there are copyright issues associated with caching web pages. from my recollection (someone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong) this is why slashdot (and digg, i'm sure) won't have an official mirroring service. it'd just be a legal nightmare if someone gets their panties in a bunch over getting cached. slashdot and kevin et all would much rather have some independent third party to shoulder the legal burden (not to mention bandwidth costs) than take it upon themselves.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Redundancy at it's finest.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9add this one to the sure fire way to get to the front page
mention digg.
seriously, i despise all these "you should digg this" entries, I'll digg what i damn well please and do not need some half-asser riding the success of others to the front page telling me what i should and should not be digging - jizzimmy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Well I guess that's one way to make it to the front page.
- Xeworlebi, on 07/25/2008, -3/+8I use duggmirror from time to time, but duggtrends is one ugly site.
- jman8888, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Top 10 ways to XXX ? !
Well if theres methods i havent used yet.. - drthipp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6better to mirror the site and take the ad revenue than just overload the server
