- MikeZila, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm not interesting in old versions of Windows, but I'm grabbing the old-school WordPerfect.
I would still rather type on a totally blank screen than the cluster**** that is the Word toolbar. - Matt2k, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1> I would still rather type on a totally blank screen than the cluster**** that is the Word toolbar.
Uhh. You can disable everything in Microsoft office applications. If anything their toolbars are overwhelmingly confusing. - TheAttacks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm downloading Winodws 3.11 hahaha, thanks bro!
- zagi1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1it would be better idea if MS released code for these apps
- MasteRR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Not sure how legal this is"
It's not. Just because a company has stopped producing or selling a product does not mean they no longer own the copywright on it.
Not like they will inforce it or anything though, and who really cares?
Download away. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Microsoft BOB!! Holy crap. Did you know that the woman now known as Mrs. Gates led that project?
- mortisdraco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Looks like it's been dugg....

- Boondoggle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"If only it were legal, I could upgrade this Windows 95 machine I'm forced to use. Apparently there is no money in the budget for new computers, despite the fact that every other office has received new computers on the last three years (some of them twice). Is it too much to ask for a computer less than 8 years old?"
Just sabotage it.
You could try to make a case that your poductivity would go up if they bought a new system, but it sounds like they aren't smart enough to understand that.
$300 will buy you a much more capable machine so I say F them. - playedalive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0the site aint dead, just EXTREMELY slow

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It isn't reachable now, so I don't know. But tell me they weren't so ingenuous to not use BitTorrent for sharing the packages...
I used it recently to allow a friend to share a 500MB video of a journey he made to Japan. It was downloaded over 60 times in a few days, moving over 30GB. Impossible (for my / ours connection) without using BT!
Setting up the tracker was quick & effortless.
I then put it in good use, sharing also the always lovable Microsoft's Ballmer's Monkey Dance videos! :D :D

1. A bittersweet longing for things, persons, or situations of the past.
2. The condition of being homesick; homesickness. - databyss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0neolit, I don't think the attraction is to downgrade your system to windows 1.0.
It's the nostalgia of it. - spinxter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah. Huh?

- PowermacChris, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hello. I am one of the head webmasters for WinWorld. We are approaching version 6 and have been existing for about 3 years now (I believe, i joined the staff recently). My job is developing WW6 in ASP.net. All our ABW is NO LONGER SUPPORTED by the orignal devleopers and therefore released on our site.
If anybody is intrested, feel free to read the WinWorld 6 FAQ at http://www.engodesign.com/cronoworld/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5710 or join Winboards (http://www.engodesign.com/cronoworld/forum) for all your WinWorld inquiries or general tech chat.

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0C'mon.
It's a waste of time/bandwidth.
If you are not happy with current Win offer, go get one of the Linux Distros (Fedora, Ubuntu etc. install with less questions than XP, and are easy to learn and update).

What is Digg?
