How the data is stored on that tape can be either analog or digital. I use DV tapes all the time, and the data on them is digital, hence the name "Digital Video tape."

It's cheap, swappable, and they're easy to capture. Stupid toy cameras that record on DVD or use a ***** unknown, uneditable codec to record on a HDD suck too.

I honestly don't mind it, as Kevin seems like a nice guy to me. There's also the fact that he still isn't 'rich' yet; if we stopped going to digg, he would be screwed.

I saw him on The Screen Savers every once in a while back when it was Tech TV, and he was kind of funny. I might have given him his own show on that network, but the network was pretty slow and tame... Fast forward to a little while ago( I don't know when, let's just say when I registered for Digg), I learn about Digg and everything as a news site, not as Kevin's project. I can understand why people go crazy over him, but he's just a celebrity who makes his celebrity-dom around nerdy things. I thought the internet culture was more refined, or at least refined enough that we wouldn't go ape ***** over a single guy whom we all knew and who knew about RAM and the subtle differences between a geek and a nerd. That fanboyism - the instant appeal that he seems to get whenever something about him comes up, whether it shows up in comments or sudden waves of diggs - put me off.
That's just my take. He seems like a cool guy, very funny( although he seems to enjoy drinking a lot, lol), and he'd be an awesome friend, but I can't wrap my head around the charisma that he seems to have with Diggers in particular and causes them to defend and promote him vigilantly and vehemently. - andburn1, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Cry me a river, you elitist geek-god.
