- kevinrose, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13You know you're a hardcore digger if:
- You are on digg right now (1:00AM on Christmas)
- You remember when the top story of the day had 25 diggs
- Your first born is going to be named albertpacino - Tobey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You know you're a hardcore digger if:
-You spend 4 straight hours on digg.com without even realizing it.
-If someone posts a dupe, you actually go searching for a link to the original story.
-You have at least three digg.com live bookmarks in your Firefox toolbar
-If someone says Al Pacino, the first thing that comes to your mind isn’t the actor.
-You have submitted over 1000 comments on digg.com
-You eventually start spelling “dig”, with two g’s. - deepsub, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This story is not very intersting.
- teamparadox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2He forgot to mention Serial Diggers, those people who digg every freaking story submitted no matter how stupid or pointless...or how many times its been duped or how old it is.
- groverallnight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Alex, you forgot the overarching classifications of "Apple Zealot" (roughly 40%-60% of the digg population), a person who diggs every Apple-related story and reports every Microsoft-related story, and "All-Around-Lamer" (roughly 30%-50% of the digg population), a person who completely disregards the legitimacy of many stories and reports them for a bevy of insignificant reasons.
- alex.bosworth, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1:/ - weird that articles linking to or reposting my posts are always dugg and not the originals on my blog.
- farhadG55, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1dorks.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You know you're a hardcore digger if your article about classifications of diggers is picked up by zdnet and then dugg on digg and then you comment in the dugg story about your original article appearing on zdnet's blog and being dugg on digg in the middle of the night on Christmas Eve.
- sinister, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0and its 1:52am on Christmas
- masterdieff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm somewhat of a mix between the casual and hardcore digger. I mostly digg stories on the front page, but if I find something on the front page that's dumb, irrelevant, or old, I'll report it. And depending on if I have anything else to do I'll occasionally go digging for stories not on the front page.
- c0linfang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I digg it because I like the above comments.

Kevin Rose is a hardcore digger!
As are all of us online right now. I always wondered why I saw Kevin Rose digging when I'm up at 3 in the morning. :P
Hardcore diggers ROCK!
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! - EmileVictor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0only hardcore diggers bother with the comments. :P Oh hey, kevinrose replied to my post. My life is complete.
- echimu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nice i must agree with you guys :)
- aheram, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Gasp! It says I am unimportant member of digg. It is a good thing this was verified. I shall stop digging a story and commenting.
- timewarrior, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How many of you digg a story so that you can get back to the article.I know everybody is supposed to digg as a kind of bookmark. But some people digg like spam and to dig out the digg from all their diggs would be impossible. Are their any quality diggers out there?
- RMuffin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0+Digg Cool List
- gekkokid, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"discovered that the system is very simple" who would have thought that! and how can you discover that?!?!?! i thought it would have been years of pain staking research
- beggersfunk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I am hooked on DIGG now , i am a new member signing up on Christmas eve. Unique and Simple....can't go wrong with Digg.
- OregonTrail, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I must be hardcore because I just stayed up all Christmas night on Digg!
- EmileVictor, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Go hardcore diggers!

You know you're a hardcore digger if:
1. You have the above URL as your homepage.
2. You have it visible anywhere in your browser's links.
3. You've ever said "dupe" or "duplicate".
Add more. They should have added the "spammers" category - i.e. me.

http://www.mediahug.com/ - c0linfang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Merry Christmas to every hardcore digger!
- spiderland, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hahah, Zdnet is doing blog posts that just reference and paraphrase someone else's material?
- cctoronto05, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"D--I--double G--dot com", that's "D--I--double G--dot com" just like Kev an' Alex say it...
I'd say you're a hard core digger if you OWN the web site digg.com and are working 24/7, including right through Xmas to scale it... now that's digg.com hardcore... - jav1231, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Only 5? He left out:
Idiots
Malcontents
Thread-hijackers
Smarta$$es....uh...ahemm - applepro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0why are frontpage diggers not important? don't we keep articles on the front page? don't we make the decision of how much spotlight a frontpage article gets?
- Weaselboy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0If you commented on this story Christmas morning, you are pathetic. Oh... wait a minute... nevermind.
- NoOneButMe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"If you commented on this story Christmas morning, you are pathetic. Oh... wait a minute... nevermind."
Not everyone celebrates Christmas - Other religions/holidays exist also.
Article was a funny read, but kevin's comment topped it :) - TCDToxic, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"3. You've ever said "dupe" or "duplicate"." -
No, I used the term dupe quite often before when I was duping in a rpg game called **** ******. Made $20,000 selling the game money and weps on a popular auction site in about a month. Brings back memories. One hint about the game... Jellybeans - nebbyfoshebby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I read through the newly sumbited stories i started to use digg spy.. but i dont look at the front page that much any more..
- dj_sea2005, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0they forgot spammers, n00bs, fanboys, idiots, CAPS JUNKIES, and of course, xenophobes.
if you want to look at it negatively ;)
at least he highlights the main ones. good job. - history1me, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I want to comment cause I want to feel like I'm part of the group. *cries in happiness"
- junkfood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I wonder if over time Digg will become susceptible to system gaming?"
You can already play to the "Hardcore Diggers". Just post a story about Digg.com, Kevin, slamming Microsoft or Apple. A story about any of those topics are sure to climb quickly.
I'm not saying that's a bad thing - I tend to digg a lot of Google stories. Just an observation. - cprior, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I would love to see better scoring options. I move that above posters "not deep enough" is added as -2.
And I want a "funny" option that I can filter for -- or is digg.com too corporaty-slick for a bit of fun? So far nothing beats alterslash Ctrl F funny for a good laugh... - wormeyman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm a digger i don't digg new stories very much anymore.
- tekmonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0>>2. Diggers: 10-20% says Alex. He also says these are the least important members of the system,
>>because "once a link is on the front page, it makes marginal difference the number of votes next to the
>>link."
He underestimates one of the key components of digg, which is to share interesting stories with your friends. One of digg's main purposes is for people to be able to digg stories they find interesting and their friends can check up and see them. - crapiolio, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Not deep enough
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Cool! :) haahah,
Kiltak
Merry Christmas from http://geeksaresexy.blogspot.com - Maajid, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Its an old cliche but get a life.
haha - c0linfang, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0fully agree with the aboves.
and go to digg the originals! - Legion303, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Kludwig is type #5 on the list (real link here: http://www.sourcelabs.com/blogs/ajb/2005/12/dynamics_of_digg_1.html), also known as "blogspam ***** who drive traffic to their site by writing a couple of sentences about someone else's hard work and posting it to digg.com."
***** off. - white, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0everyone ignores the comments....
- serra, on 10/12/2007, -3/+0Major "HaHa!" to Kevin's post. I know that I'd rather be curled up with him right now (yummy!), rather than sitting here reading and working on fixing my computer and messing with Linux.
