- rainbowhandbag, on 04/03/2009, -0/+66I thought April Fools was yesterday...
- eramos, on 04/03/2009, -3/+49It was. April Fools is traditionally celebrated on April 1st, which was the date yesterday.
- RMoore08, on 04/03/2009, -2/+37Good, I hate searching for Pedobear and have it finding facepalms instead.
- surfster, on 04/03/2009, -0/+29Yeah, the current search is a little clunky - the first results generated a typically not what you're looking for!
- Yage2006, on 04/03/2009, -0/+20I use site:digg.com "search query"
on google wonder how it it will compare. - JamesBondJr, on 04/03/2009, -1/+20dupe engine next?
- FadieZ, on 04/03/2009, -0/+16"Eramos" must be Portuguese for "Captain Obvious".
- mojaam, on 04/03/2009, -1/+16Search is key all over the internet. Twitter and Google caught on. Guess digg caught on now too.
- Exekutor, on 04/03/2009, -1/+15Could this be useful to improve the dupe algorithm?
- DavidTurnbull, on 04/03/2009, -1/+14Anything would be better than the current search, but this looks quite fantastic.
- ttamshadbolt, on 04/03/2009, -1/+11Can you PLEASE fix the dupe engine first?
- rdolishny, on 04/03/2009, -0/+9I can't count the times I saw an article on the front page, then refreshed for whatever reason, then searched for the exact name of the headline that is no longer on the front page... and no results.
- TheKitchenSinkX, on 04/03/2009, -1/+9How about they fix the issue of the comment box humping my text?
- Whamola, on 04/03/2009, -0/+7I'll believe it when I can search for this story 6 months from now to prove techcrunch wrong.
And (hopefully) find out that they were right. - trapper2530, on 04/03/2009, -2/+9Change!
oh wait are we not doing that anymore? - TyroPyro, on 04/03/2009, -0/+6Hopefully you can search your own Digg history just as well
- jsffive, on 04/03/2009, -2/+7Yeah... because THAT was a major problem, and NOT the "bouncing comment box"...
- rebrad, on 04/03/2009, -1/+6I'll believe it when I see it and I wonder what else they will break fixing search. They can't even fix the comment viewing threshold that used to work and now continually resets itself to -10. Seems improvements make things worse. Too many programmers stirring the pot and the recipe is always changing.
- boneill428, on 04/03/2009, -0/+5make sure to check the "include buried stories" box
- tunafizzle, on 04/03/2009, -0/+5ctrl+f is nice.
or
http://www.neaveru.com/digg/ - Rivetgeek, on 04/14/2009, -0/+4dude the bouncing comment box is ridiculous. I mean, if i designed a site like that, I'd get fired or not paid for that code. How ***** hard is it to set a standard box height in css? I keep telling myself I'll write a greasemonkey script to fix it, then i start looking to see if someone has done it, then i get distracted by internet porn ; /
- CoolSilver, on 04/03/2009, -0/+4Digg 1.6 was the best version Ever.
- Tekeks, on 04/03/2009, -0/+4Simple concept can sometimes take forever to get right!!! :)
- str3ama, on 04/03/2009, -1/+5how about adding the ability to search through comments as well - that would be a great addition
- soundman07, on 04/03/2009, -2/+5This is a little off topic, but does anyone know why digg does not render in standards mode in IE8? I assume it's the meta tag or whatever that forces this behavior, I'm just curious as to why/what the advantage of this is? Would the page still not render correctly in standards mode?
- boneill428, on 04/03/2009, -0/+3Here you go: http://digg.com/users/bigteebo/friends/add
- PacGamer, on 04/03/2009, -2/+5Congratulations! Digg will finally have a decent search!
... - 11oops, on 04/03/2009, -0/+3Just because they're revising it doesn't mean it will necessarily be decent. Just look at the ongoing issues with commenting for proof.
- emailingRob, on 04/03/2009, -0/+3The more you know.
- brownsin07, on 04/03/2009, -0/+3The above reminds me of the little brat on My Super Sweet Sixteen, "No Daddy I wanted the red BMW", "Finally DIgg you fixed this stupid site only you should have done this for me first you idiots...If only I ran digg I wouldn't have done it so fail.."
- dburka, on 04/03/2009, -0/+3As someone suggested... the two are related. First comes search and then comes dupes... woot!
- Llanowar, on 04/03/2009, -1/+4And about time.
I think a decent search engine has been the most and longest requested feature on Digg. - anaclagon, on 04/03/2009, -0/+3I'm guessing they just threw that four question Digg survey in the trash can.
- bonk2k, on 04/03/2009, -0/+3It's change we can believe in.
- Kitarist, on 04/03/2009, -0/+2Hooray for teh search power
- metalgel, on 04/03/2009, -2/+4what about dupes?
- anaclagon, on 04/03/2009, -0/+2LOL... never thought of it like that but accurate non the less.
- dburka, on 04/03/2009, -0/+2Just wait til you see it. Upcoming searches are totally possible and there are advanced search options under the hood.
- brownsin07, on 04/03/2009, -2/+4So that this site can be payed for you selfish bastard
- neFariou5, on 04/03/2009, -0/+2i rarely search digg directly, sometimes it turns up in google results. But I can't see ever wanting to search digg instead of google...
- brad28, on 04/03/2009, -1/+3i love it new search
- CLShortFuse, on 04/03/2009, -1/+3What's Google Wonder?
- markedOne, on 04/03/2009, -0/+2What is a "dupe engine"?
- blue98camaro, on 04/03/2009, -2/+3Now they just need to fix the the diggbar and we should be set.
- anaclagon, on 04/03/2009, -1/+2~~~~~~~~~~*
- fliguy84, on 04/10/2009, -0/+1Damn and I was thinking I am the only one with the viewing threshold problem. I did contact them a few days ago regarding the issue and am still waiting for a reply.
- Slides, on 04/04/2009, -0/+1I never click on ads anyway, so it doesn't matter.
- YumYumTruck, on 04/03/2009, -3/+4kinda nice, I just stuck to google to search for digg articles anyway.
