- NickDouglas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11This is why we can't have nice things.
- tropican8, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9You know, I'm so onboard with this guy. I write stuff on my blog, and occasionally submit it to Digg. Even though most, if not all the comments on the Digg comment section are positive (because people don't want to be dugg down), I've gotten really creepy things in my Blog's comment section. And I know they must have been people who found the link via Digg because the names match up with Digg callsigns.
Seriously, like non-comical death threats, etc. To the point that I decided to start watering down posts I planned on submitting to Digg because they might be too controversial.
I'm not saying most Digg users are like that, but clearly out of the half a million Digg users, there's some nutjobs. If this guy is freaked out, I understand completely and respect his choice. - Veign, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7See, this wasn't such a bad idea:

The server understood the request, but is refusing to fulfill it because you're coming from digg.com and the proprieter of this system is frankly terrified by you people. Authorization will not help and the request SHOULD NOT be repeated. - tim7423, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3yep I've also submitted a story form my blog to digg. Not for the traffic of course. It was a DIY USB key chain. My blog has NO ADS at all yet I got a comment on my blog say that I'm a whore for posting my story to digg and driving traffic to my blog for the purpose of ad revenue. Which was not true at all.
- dayquil, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3the comments in this thread are hilariously ironic. this guy is just doing what makes sense for him. i think it's a remarkably sane and commendable way of handling something that makes him uncomfortable.
and really, why would it not make him uncomfortable? the only overreaction is coming from right here. - captinherb, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This works though
http://www.duggmirror.com/tech_news/Digg_scares_this_blogger/ - slashdotdash, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Except that in this case the guy *didn't* submit his article to Digg.
- Steaminx, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4This guy is a genius. Props to him for posting the code too.
- jinglee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2One of the few guys who agree with me that Digg is dumb...
- boomerxl, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Just so you know, you can't follow the above link directly, because he's blocked all traffic referred from Digg.
- Figs, on 10/12/2007, -4/+4I don't get any 403... :|
- ecordell, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1This reminds me of a joke that used to circulate among the help when I was a porter at the Browns' in London in 1837. They had to call the little Bobby Peelers when a digger and a blogger checked into a room and started a loud brawl over who was to do what to whom.
- sfacets, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5The guy should be dragged out into the street and shot. ;)
- Petrarch1603, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3this guy needs to calm down. he is way too full of himself
- eric1, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Dugg because he has an article on how to block Digg traffic, LOL!
http://tomayko.com/weblog/2006/12/30/digg-scares-me - winjer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0You plonker, he doesn't want anything to do with digg. I can't believe how self-centred this site is!
- sixty6, on 10/12/2007, -5/+2Well what am I supposed to say? Congratulations for making the front page for being scared?
This is a dumb joke.. - Brajeshwar, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1lol, crazy idea and it does work. He gets what he wants, another front page attention.
- fooslayer, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3You could just, ya know, not submit stuff to Digg...
- Junkyarddawg, on 10/12/2007, -9/+3This article is why the "Lame" option exists.
- sixty6, on 10/12/2007, -13/+4This has got to be the lamest idea and most pathetic attempt to get attention..
