i don't wtf revo is and certainly have no axe to grind with it. and checked a few of the links, they were not greyed out, meaning i had not buried them. i've never seen/heard of most of these stories. better double check your work. look for me burying this as "inaccurate" in the next 3 seconds. then check my "dugg" b/c i'm going to go digg those revo stories, proving i never buried them. - Skitzzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Looks like Digg doesn't want word of this bug getting out. Mysteriously this story has been buried a mere 20 minutes after being posted and getting 12 diggs in that time.
- SaintDogbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5That list is very inaccurate. I didn't bury over half of the things it says I buried.
- Skitzzo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Read the disclaimers at the top. It appears the data isn't 100%
It appears to be attributing the buries to the wrong users. However, I still think the data is very revealing and well worth a look.
And no, I don't know more about the bug. I just found this site, no idea how they found it. - captinherb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4he posted over here that due to a bug only 1 in 4 was actually done by the user

- misterpony, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What's the full story on this data? How did you get it, when was it captured, what was the bug that was figured out?
- bofhcabbit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is some really impressive raw data!
Good find, Skitzzo. - Roger, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Quite interesting. Can you say more about the bug?
- Banner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That would be a sign of bigger problems then. Maybe someone is faling id's to do buries with?
- Banner, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Me neither :-(
- darkstorm777, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2other than adm58 having a lot of time on his hands? lol

- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Actually, I don't know anyone else who uses digg, and I am certainly not a room mate to anyone. Here's the real story: I was sick of reading about new games released for the Wii's Virtual Console and how much the PS3 isn't selling on the front page. So the same morning I searched for 'Wii' and 'PS3' and buried every article that was the same old crap: new VC games and how the PS3 isn't selling as well as the Wii. Sometimes my finger slipped and I accidentally marked a story as 'Spam' instead of 'Duplicate Story'. Cry about it. But try it yourself: search for the word 'Wii' in the digg search bar, and sort by date; see how many duplicate stories there are? I only did this once, so forgive me for having an opinion about how ridiculously unimportant Virtual Console games are.
- miketrin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1woop!
- BattleOnHamish, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1*low whistle* Here's to the hacker; may he usher in a new era of honest freakin' debate.
- eastinlet, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I wonder how many of these guys are roomates or buddies? Five or so (check out glenjammin in the lower third of the page... an angry guy) people did a high percentage of the burying...
I suppose you would need a time log to tell for certain. - BattleOnHamish, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2(Political burial is for the insecure milksops who don't think their position is defensible on its own merits.)
- BattleOnHamish, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Well. Good catch, then, and curse my gullibility.
Not to say that "who buried this" isn't a good idea, mind. - mindlikeagog, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"2000 diggs, yet it was buried by a mere 20" is crap especially when some tossers (adm58) abuse the feature.
Maybe an icon on each profile showing amount digg and bury history?
See this for the undertakers.
http://digg.com/tech_news/Digg_s_Bury_Data_Exposed - Mageant, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Dear Digg,
I come across an article where a programmer managed to pull some of the Digg-data of your site due a glitch.
While that may not be the most ethical thing to do, I think it was in order in this case because it uncovered a glaring inequity in your system.
You claim that this is a form of news or media democracy. Yet it seems that a small number of people get to control then news here too. For example, a valid story that was dugg nearly 2000 times got buried by mere 20 or so buries (even if we extrapolate for additional days, it seems it would not be more than 100 hundred or so). So it seems a small percentage of around 1%-5% of users gets to control what news makes it to your front pages. Some democracy. Apparently this "bury brigade" also has no qualms about burying stories simply for ideological reasons. This is apparent by the various and conflicting reasons given for burying the same story.
The really bad thing about this is that these people are now practically "in power" on your web-site, because they can bury the news of other users (with different ideologies) thus causing them to gain less "karma" than they do themselves.

(latter got 2000 diggs, yet it was buried by a mere 20 or so people as "lame", "false", "spam" *and* "duplicate" - what is it now?)

disappointed,
Channing Jones - LakeshoreBaby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Does this mean things are being burried with your names that you didn't actually bury yourselves?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1some users really get off on burying ***** it seems, that's all they do!
