- bengold, on 10/11/2007, -13/+15248 hours! wow this app is fantastic, I just need to buy an iPhone
- bbrgreen, on 10/11/2007, -10/+148I cant wait to try this on my Zune phone.
- craigtheguru, on 10/11/2007, -2/+65Dugg from my iPhone! Now only if I could have commented there...
- kaiserollofdoom, on 10/11/2007, -5/+57All night coding sessions FTW!
- antiver, on 10/11/2007, -0/+52diggriver.com for everyone else with smartphones
- mvanhorn, on 10/11/2007, -3/+53Did Joe get an 8 gig or a 4 gig?
- ChrisrWilliams, on 10/11/2007, -4/+41*drools* oh wait... I don't have an iPhone.
- andreo, on 10/11/2007, -3/+28The joke is on Joe though. Now he has to pay for service on the thing.
- dallyp, on 10/11/2007, -2/+27click "remember me" when you sign in.
Everytime you start your browser, you'll be logged in. I haven't typed in my username or password in 2 weeks - aspangenberg, on 10/11/2007, -6/+28That is awesome! Good job Joe!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+22Tried it out on a Nokia 3rd Edition phone (since it also runs an Apple WebKit-based browser) -- renders nicely, the slide-transition into the article is lovely. However, no "back" link/mechanism (because of gestures) make back navigation awkward and slow. Login button doesn't work, probably for similar reasons.
This was my fear for the iPhone -- suddenly everyone cares about *good* mobile sites, but like it was 1996 again where you get to say 'it only works in Netscape 3.0", leaving every one else in the dust. - bpapa, on 10/11/2007, -2/+21As a user - this is awesome. Digg now works 10x better than it did on my iPhone.
As a web developer - Ummm... WTF? It's like vendor-specific development all over again... ugh... - dburka, on 10/11/2007, -1/+18You can login and Digg. You just can't comment (yet).
- webcure, on 10/11/2007, -7/+22I need this. My train ride is just too long without digg,
Am I a-diggted??
I digg it! - joopdorresteijn, on 10/11/2007, -2/+15Congrats Daniel!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13I don't even remember the last time I logged in. Must have been months.
- PhillAholic, on 10/11/2007, -3/+14I don't have an iphone, but I have to give props to a nice design when I see one. I absolutely love the scrolling action. Too bad no one makes nifty sites like that for my PSP (that I know of). Then again maybe if the damn thing had more then 32mb of ram it could actually handle the internet.
- joestump, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11You can. This is merely a highly optimized version of the site for browsing on the iPhone. Browsing sites that are full featured over EDGE is cumbersome so we created this. Also the zooming in and out can be a pain. We're just here giving you another option. Nothing more. Nothing less. :)
- dburka, on 10/11/2007, -2/+11You can't post comments yet from the iPhone app. Light and simple. You can read and Digg though.
- Turbosc, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9layout structure is very nice on the iphone. I dugg the story up on it, but i didn't see a comment submission section. keep up the great work guys.
- nick2, on 10/11/2007, -2/+10It works really nice on the iPhone. Good work!!!
- hayseed, on 10/11/2007, -0/+8$600/48 hours = $12.5 per hour
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -8/+15All you iPhone ***** are gonna pay! You are the one's who are the Kevin Rose ball lickers! We're gonna bitch about the comment system while you whine and cry like little whiny bitches. Once we get to Hollywood and stop those dumb ***** from digging ***** stories, we're gonna make them eat our *****, then ***** out our *****, then eat their ***** which is made up of our ***** that we made them eat. Then all you iPhone ***** are next.
- thecompkid, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9If I could comment, I would be using digg.com/iphone on my laptop too. It's freakin awesome!
- TomFrost, on 10/11/2007, -2/+9Then stop clicking them.
- PAJK, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7For those that don't have an iPhone, here's what it looks like: http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1420/773887924_b68b27e43f.jpg?v=0
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+8diggriver.com is what I use for my PSP. Works fast as hell.
- xShad0w, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7This is amazing, wow everything loads up so fast, can they make digg lite like this for regular browsing, and yea digg should embed a cookie so that if ur anywhere and click a digg button, it just takes your login from the cookie and ups it instead of going to the site
- pixelate, on 10/11/2007, -1/+7thanks. also, i hate you
- mossiwo, on 10/11/2007, -2/+7Keep Rocking Joe! the force be with you...
- andregriffin, on 10/11/2007, -6/+1148hrs? What would you do for an iPhone... I mean... Klondike Bar?
- kapkorn, on 10/11/2007, -3/+7THANK YOU!!!!
- fxspec06, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Dugg from my iPhone. Also commented from my iPhone.
Forgot iPhone had the full safari browser for a second, did ya? ;) - neutrino15, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4These are the kind of features we want, not a fancy comment system or other items of bloat!
Nice! - G_Raph, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Diggriver is nice to get by but it doesn't look anything like this app. There is no reason Kevin Rose and the digg team can't spend the next 48 hours developing the site for all smartphone users
- GuyHitByTruck, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4So uh.. how long did you look at the code, and what changes did you submit? Did you test the new modified code..
..or did you just complain? - singleframe, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Very nice work..it's very snappy. Seems lightweight but stable. No more zooming in and zooming out and zooming in and zooming out to enjoy Digg.
- kaefer, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5Very cool! Just checked it out with my iPhone. Works VERY nicely! Good work!
- nightstrm, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4This is awesome and I'm glad to see it... this makes digg so much easier to use on the iPhone!
- vvaduva, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4That looks awesome. You guys did a great job!!
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+5I thought iPhones were supposed to make it easier for you to type, not make you look even more of a dumbass.
- Terr01, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Replies to from Opera on a desktop running in small-screen mode. (~200px width) :P
- carguy84, on 10/11/2007, -13/+15How about you fix regular DIGG so I don't have to continuously login anytime I go to a website that is running a digg button?
- neutrino15, on 10/11/2007, -1/+3but for things like digg, why would you want to run it offline? I understand the need for real apps, but why for digg?
- owlet, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Tried it too (Nokia E50) - works but is missing those few features.
I thought that by now there would be templates for different browsers that would automatically adjust the layout and stylesheets. Looks like it takes an iPhone to create enough demand to actually implement it.
Lets just hope sites will use a framework that supports other mobile browsers too. - cys006, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Jphone FTW! after all it's one better than iPhone!
- CYR1X, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I think I almsot like this better than regular digg, less clutter.
- Jeffler, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2Good job huper, you commented even though its not possible!
Sent from my oFone - etx313, on 10/11/2007, -4/+6Me Too! Oh wait, you wont need to cause I will probably have a native SDK with REAL application! Imagine that!
- sp1keNARF, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2hahaha... hilarious
"You are the one's who are the Kevin Rose ball lickers!"
