- mdgypsygirl, on 02/26/2008, -4/+114Anyone else experience wacked-out problems logging in or staying logged in? No matter where I am, home or office, Digg never "remembers me" (yes, yes, joke away...), and often shows I'm logged in, but when I try to digg or comment, it asks me to log in....hmmm.....
- inactive, on 02/26/2008, -5/+70"1) “Super-users” do not exist. There’s apparently no such thing as a Digg user with super Digg or Bury powers"
Does this mean that idiots will finally stop posting "omg 37 diggz how did this makes it to teh front pagez!!" on every damn story? - Hitchhiker90, on 02/26/2008, -4/+36Are the top 3 digg submitters still whining like little bitches because they don't get promoted anymore?
- leeleak, on 02/26/2008, -0/+22This recap: http://digg.com/tech_news/Digg_Answers_20_Question ... has the videos embedded and time stamps so you don't have to watch all the useless stuff between questions.
- h3xZ, on 02/26/2008, -0/+22just because you came out of your moms ass... doesn't mean we all did
- Remmy, on 02/26/2008, -2/+18Probably not. Usually the people that type things like that aren't capable of comprehending vocabulary that is pronounced correctly.
Perhaps:
"diggz can't has no p0wer uzerrrrzzz!!!1" will be something they'll understand though. Endless September.... - mvandemar, on 02/26/2008, -1/+16Yep, been consistently happening since yesterday... guess they'll put off addressing it till Town Hall II though.
- mghwom1, on 02/26/2008, -0/+15Here ya go: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/il..F9ArRxkLHT1xUr, ...
- hawkspur, on 02/26/2008, -4/+18You know poop comes out of there...right?
- DarthDaddy, on 02/26/2008, -1/+13Links to the Video available yet?
- loroleg, on 02/26/2008, -5/+16ustream sucks
- Skitzzo, on 02/26/2008, -0/+11Top users like Mr. babyman weren't the type of "super-diggers" that they were talking about. If I'm not mistaken, that question was about the possible existence of moderators etc, that control the front page.
- Hortnon, on 02/26/2008, -0/+10About the time I got a response from Digg's bug reporting system this morning is when the issue stopped happening for me. It was really annoying, though, I couldn't stay logged in at all yesterday.
- darkane, on 02/26/2008, -5/+12MrBabyMan's submissions, as with every other submission from every other user, hit the front page because a certain number of people hit the 'digg it' button. It's as simple as that. If you don't stop crying, we won't have to worry about global warming, you'll drown us all with your tears.
- plup, on 02/26/2008, -3/+10Why did you do that?
- mdgypsygirl, on 02/26/2008, -0/+7Glad to know I'm not alone - this was happening the day I started using dig, in Oct 07
- Hortnon, on 02/26/2008, -0/+6I fixed the issue I was having by increasing the buffer length. It may have only been an option in the 'pop up' version of the stream, but either way, they should advertise that feature more. I had no problems with audio or choppiness after maxing out the buffer time (which makes sense).

direct link - chemdiva, on 02/26/2008, -0/+6I'm still not sure how i feel about this "diversity of users" thing - i mean, if a niche of users were able to promote a story, maybe we would still see a lot of tech stories... *Should* digg appeal to a mass audience? It seems like when you try to be everything for everyone, you pretty much end up with a lot of web comics and funny pictures.... Not that being introduced to garfield minus garfeild or 4 popped collars guy is bad.... But it would be nice to be able to just come to digg... not digg + techmeme. Or maybe i am way out of line.
- RandomTaskMan, on 02/26/2008, -0/+6Same was happening here, also glad to see i'm not alone.
- Zihuatanejo, on 02/26/2008, -2/+7Your girlfriend's been letting me stick it in her butt for a while now. Welcome to the club.
- inactive, on 02/26/2008, -1/+6i switch between firefox and safari same problem on both and have had the problem for 1-2 months..
- inactive, on 02/26/2008, -0/+5Same has been happening to me for the last 2 days.
Safari 3.0.4/Leopard 10.5.2 - amgamer23, on 02/26/2008, -0/+4I saw quite a few reminders...
- Awspire, on 02/26/2008, -1/+5"Diggs and Buries"
That excerpt from #6 sounds like a cereal. - MrSpontaneous, on 02/26/2008, -0/+4Their argument was that people who had a lot of contacts weren't using the feature correctly (read: "as it was intended")
- sgtbutterscotch, on 02/26/2008, -0/+4It only happened to me once, which was yesterday.
- inactive, on 02/26/2008, -4/+8and myspace
- Andia83, on 02/26/2008, -0/+4All day yesterday. I thought it was just me.
- arjung, on 02/26/2008, -0/+3it was an unofficial chat room.
- Scheissen, on 02/26/2008, -1/+4How'd you get the chat? I thought there wasn't a chat room because they said it was too hectic.
- JoshuaH, on 02/26/2008, -1/+4What ever happened to the new comment system being launched?
- lostboy, on 02/27/2008, -0/+3That's a social issue and not a technical one. If someone has lots of friends who will digg the same story as them because they also find it interesting, can you blame them?
Can this lead to social cliques with greater power than individual diggers, well of course. This is a wonderful example of how the rest of the world works on a day to day basis, if you can't stop the rest of the world being like this then how do you prevent digg?
The only way to stop that is to stop showing the stories your friend diggs and / or make submissions anonymous. - leodavinci, on 02/27/2008, -0/+3Agreed. I have been using Digg since the first day Kevin announced it on his blog, and I came here for tech stories by and large. I don't mind the rest of the content, but there just isn't any good tech stuff any more. The only tech stuff that gets promoted is the mainstream tech... what happened to having some random but cool app get promoted?
- darkane, on 02/27/2008, -1/+4Where is your data showing that people disregard content and value when digging a friend's submission? Also, my "If you don't stop crying.." comment is light years ahead in maturity when compared to your whining rant about how Digg is 'unfair', or compared to your referencing of a Penny Arcade comic as a moral compass.
- bullcutter, on 02/27/2008, -1/+3I think there is a lot of good tech content that still gets submitted to Digg, it just doesn't get put on the front page so much anymore, because it is being squeezed out by overly-popularized Top 10 lists, sustainable/green products advertisements posing as articles, and of course my favorite, pictures of ridiculous *****.
- badwolf1980, on 02/26/2008, -1/+3Anything brought up about the annoying ads that run on the site? (and yes, I know about adblock! But I'd like to not be forced into using it if I don't have to)
- piXelatedEmpire, on 02/27/2008, -0/+2and man it was driving me ***** nuts
- bullcutter, on 02/27/2008, -0/+2my proposal to solve this problem is to take away the ability of an article submitter to make the same article popular.
99.9% of stories submitted by the top Digg users are made popular by themselves. doesn't this kind of defeat the purpose of Digg??
26 million unique visits per month... 5-8 people generating half the popular content. does this seem a little askew to anybody else? - MyNameIsJoe, on 02/26/2008, -0/+2I'd find it much more suspicous if all the same members are digging a member's stories. It could be somebody trying to game the system.
Some people like myself actually occationally look at what the new upcoming stories are. - Ramble, on 02/26/2008, -0/+2Yes, I've been having that problem for a few days now.
- Toby44, on 02/27/2008, -1/+3Haha, Kevin and Jay look like two icons on the OSX dock (the table.)
- tomwhughes, on 02/27/2008, -0/+1hey this is also happening to me with the 'Safari 3.0.4/Leopard 10.5.2' combo!
cool to know I'm not alone - supermanred, on 02/27/2008, -1/+2I thought I was a "Super" user?
- bbardlbradd, on 02/26/2008, -0/+1The video was fine for me, the only issue I had (dunno if it's related to ustream) was that I couldn't log into chat, even after reg.
idk, didn't try to hard though. - lostboy, on 03/01/2008, -0/+1Should we bury things on the basis of who posted them or the content of the story itself? Again, a social issue. I think the content of the story is more important than its poster, so if something reaches the front page from one of diggs top posters then I still might digg it if I'm interested. I'm not interested in the politics.
- kjcdude, on 02/27/2008, -0/+1yes...
- supermanred, on 02/27/2008, -0/+1I know my original post was barely legible (Don't post comments when your drunk kids) but...
Fix the shout system for those of us who have more than 5 friends.
It's not my fault. Whenever someone flags themselves as a "Fan" of SupermanRED, I can't help but add them as a friend...I mean... it just seems like the right thing to do... now Im stuck with all these "Fan"s who shout me once a day... gets pretty full up quickly and there is no "DELETE ALL SHOUTS" button!!!
ARGhghghghhhh - LanceUppercut, on 02/27/2008, -0/+1I have had the same problems for a while. I believe it is loosely linked to either using ***** programmers, or using it to help boost the page viewed per user count for the overall site. I had to re-login to post this, after posting another comment no more than 30 minutes ago.
- KMye, on 02/26/2008, -2/+3It seems pretty clear that active members with many friends who are also active with many friends will get more to the frontpage, especially with the shout system. But how would you suggest they ameliorate this influence in a fair way anymore than they already do? They make it pretty clear the algorithm has some sort of negative Hebbian rules in it, and, as evidenced by some of the 1000+ digg Ron Paul stories that never front paged, it seems to work pretty well.
