- ekkalvia, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Interesting take. I found myself oddly intrigued by the commentary.
- netburnr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Personally, I hate blogs. However.
Your article was well thought out, and you do not spam adsense after ever 2 sentences. So Kudos to you....now if only all the other blogger kiddys would learn from you, digg would be a better place.
You should have put something in there about original content, and posting links to your blog only to have 1 sentence and a link to the real article. - mozzer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Some of the ideas are a little generic and can be applied to many online communities.
However, the "Digg whore" is an interesting concept, and is somewhat unique to the social networking concept.
Overall, this article feels like it's intended for someone new to social bookmarking sites. - RadiantBeing, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Digg drives the conversation on the internet. By visiting Digg, I know what people will be blogging about, discussing in forums, and even occasionally what the national news will cover in a few days. The previous generation of sites like Slashdot and BoingBoing used to play this role but they can't really compete anymore. Most of the interesting stories are either publicized by Digg or eventually find their way to Digg. I'm not making a value judgement on Slashdot and BoingBoing but speaking purely from experience, I used to visit them a couple times a day but now I only check Slashdot once or twice a day and BoingBoing once every two or three days.
- mkoby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's pretty much offical, the "Slashdot Effect" has become the "Digg Effect".
I liked this article. I personally have a blog and I find many interesting things through blogs so to see blog items on Digg doesn't really anger me in any way. I think people have interesting thoughts and should express them however they feel nessecary, and if it's a blog, so be it. I have all kinds of thoughts and ideas floating around in my head and my blog has helped me get them out and with the ability for others to input on them.

What is Digg?
