And they share similar formats: Two or three hosts who sit or stand in front of cheap looking backdrop, and who may or may not be handling beverages

- halofourteen, on 03/26/2008, -1/+5I have to disagree about Tekzilla. Even though it's usually just Patrick, it takes me back to the days of The Screen Savers on TechTV. Also, the nice thing about Revision3 putting out so many shows is that they appeal to a broad audience. You wouldn't think that Rev3 could survive for a long time if they only catered to the Diggnation / TRS demographic.

As soon as MTV started with 'original' programming it sucked. Have a look see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_MTV_Shows A nice long list of fail. You know when MTV was worth watching? When they showed, you know, music videos.
I'm not sure I really understand the mass appeal (or if their is mass appeal) of some of this "new media". I can't say I've ever watched a full episode of Diggnation. I'll watch a clip here and there, just because I think it's funny to watch someone like Kevin Rose essentially get paid for drinking. That's pretty awesome. Diggnation and The Totally Rad Show will probably always be awesome, but since Rev3 got that fat stack of cash and created a near TV style setup, its going down hill.
