Digg and Reddit: Why I Read the Comments First (& You Should Too)

mashable.com — There was once talk of Digg and other social news sites not deserving to be indexed by Google because all they do is link to other sites and provide no added value. This is wrong. In fact, I’d argue that the comments are often more valuable than the article itself. Here are my reasons why.

    Digg has far too much redundant information indexed on Google. In addition to the "categories", the same crap is indexed again in user profiles, rss feeds and each user's friends list, and as a result you get redundant or unusable search results because digg just regurgitates the same story snippets over and over again.
