- dakilla91, on 12/27/2007, -1/+43Digg is becoming too popular...not that that's a bad thing, but there are just too many useless submissions making it to the front page. Way too much blog spam
I miss the old Digg :( - VogonPoetry, on 12/27/2007, -7/+42Just get firefox and adblock plus, you idiot!
- acu8509, on 12/27/2007, -1/+17Is it just me, or does anybody else pick up a weird vibe from Howy Mandel when he talks to the case models? If it wasn't for his shaved head (not bald, just OCD) and his token evil villain facial hair, id say there was something going on.
- corevette, on 12/27/2007, -6/+22i want google to buy it if someone where...
to get rid of these damn annoying msn ads! - KenSPT, on 12/27/2007, -0/+13I'll give you $20 ...
- coreyb, on 12/27/2007, -4/+171. Build website.
2. Attract 25 million unique visitors monthly.
3. ????
4. Profit.
Someone had to do it... - humanawho, on 12/27/2007, -0/+13Better than pop ups and annoying graphical ads
- Philluminati, on 12/27/2007, -2/+10digg this?
Why don't you digg the ***** out of my ass with a spoon?
- Was an interesting article but I hate titles that beg for diggs. - NightOwl4, on 12/27/2007, -0/+8Blog spam is just the beginning...you people wait and see how much DIGG's going to change once it gets into the wrong hands....im not looking forward to it.
- rudy23, on 12/27/2007, -0/+8yeah msn ads are plain in your face and stupid.
- inactive, on 12/27/2007, -1/+8Whoever buys Digg has to comply with all the agreements and contracts that Digg has with other third parties, at least until they expire.
- matts009, on 12/27/2007, -1/+7I don't know if I'd want Google to now know what I like and don't like, in addition to everything else they already know about me (via searches, gmail, etc)
- nuclearpenguins, on 12/27/2007, -0/+6Digg 1.0 was by far the best. Nothing but quality tech news and far less children around.
- hmunkey, on 12/27/2007, -0/+6Google ads are unobtrusive.
- meruru, on 12/27/2007, -5/+11Because an equal number of Google ads is better?
- dakilla91, on 12/27/2007, -0/+5their*
- dn11, on 12/27/2007, -0/+5google already knows your hopes and dreams, your darkest fantasies - they're in your head man!
- clearzen, on 12/27/2007, -0/+4This site has been "up for sale" for quite some time. The people at digg have just never received an offer that meets their expectations. From what I understand anyway.
- SteveTheSultan, on 12/27/2007, -1/+5Sell it and move to Amsterdam.
- klethron, on 12/27/2007, -0/+4Jay and Kevin, I'll make you a deal. I will give you all my Viagra/Cialis spam emails for all your useless "news" on the front page. You guys can walk away from Digg and I can toy with all the users who post old/rehashed "news". Deal?
- pennyfan87, on 12/27/2007, -0/+4They already know. Your Dugg stories are public and indexed by Google anyway.
- Jonjonr6, on 12/27/2007, -0/+4what's wrong with that?
if I could ***** in a box and sell it, and everyone's still happy, why not? I've got the free time. - JudgeMonkey, on 12/27/2007, -1/+4No, they didn't. Also, step three is "Sell it to some shmuck."
- chokeaduck, on 12/27/2007, -0/+3$25. And I throw in this ball of twine which binds the top 20 or so Diggers together and makes them need to troll the internet tirelessly until they find something to submit, even though it sometimes hits StumbleUpon first.
- UtahApocalyse, on 12/27/2007, -3/+6Internet: Crate Website, Grab a large amount of traffic and/or users, Sell Website to large corporate interest, Website becomes useless and lame, Lose most users and traffic.
- inactive, on 12/27/2007, -0/+3Hey! Me too! WTF?
- rudy23, on 12/27/2007, -0/+3you think he is gonna survive on page views and fanboys who want to suck him off?
- ferrariman60, on 12/27/2007, -0/+3The only things that DO get through the blacklists are the google ads. I've had to manually add two google things to the adblock list- that was about a week and a half ago. No problems since, though. When I use the work computers or my IE using friends computers, I'm reminded of how awful banner ads are. Adblock is truly a godsend. Best add on by miles, and there are some neat ones out there.
- alchemist27, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2I'm guessing you aren't familiar with these 4 steps, are you??
- feliphe, on 12/27/2007, -0/+2NO DEAL!
- Braxo, on 12/27/2007, -1/+3I was the 10,000th visitor to digg said an ad. Wish I had a pic to prove it though.
- stephbangm, on 12/27/2007, -7/+9Who really cares? Digg is rigged anyway.
- BlueSkyfish, on 12/27/2007, -1/+3It's more likely Microsoft will buy it. Hopefully they won't get rid of the Linux, Apple, Wii, PS3 sections and monitor every comment. You think I'm paranoid, but watch it happen.
- bpapa, on 12/27/2007, -0/+2I can't think of many sites that have suffered this fate in recent years.
- DigitalRealm, on 12/28/2007, -0/+2Yep, I remember the days of good tech news being found on Digg. Now, most of it is useless, the average age of people here is probably around 12 and most of the front page content here is utterly wasteful.
I say let someone buy it, run in the ground, and put it out of it's misery. - inactive, on 12/27/2007, -0/+2ya i would do the same. sell out the people in a heartbeat
- rudy23, on 12/27/2007, -0/+2i was 10000th and 10000000th at the same time in two different ads in the same page. beat that
- cawpin, on 12/27/2007, -0/+2What kind of crate are you gonna use? You don't want the website to spoil. I would suggest wood slats with plenty of breathing room.
- plbland, on 12/27/2007, -1/+3They could easily buy their way out of a contract. Really depends if it's more profitable to do so!
- Pogojoe, on 12/27/2007, -0/+1It's Business Week *****. Not a blog.
- graviplana, on 12/27/2007, -2/+3If Digg is bought by some Fox type company I will delete my account and leave, and I will not be alone. Are you listening Digg?
- pizzaface200, on 12/27/2007, -0/+1I'd prefer digg not to change hands but if it had to happen I would not be sad if google bought digg
- thefinger, on 12/28/2007, -0/+1Instead of talking to Business Week, how about talking to Digg users directly.
- inactive, on 12/28/2007, -0/+1Welcome to America! You can make your own startup company, sell it out to a soulless Corp, and retire on your own nest egg while the rest of the Country rots for all you care.
What a great country! We're going to last so long at this rate! :D Money is the end goal, nevermind spirituality! Worship your worthless ***** dollar. - surfing, on 12/27/2007, -0/+1Kevin just called the deal off.
- inactive, on 12/27/2007, -1/+2Jay! Just ***** sell it already so we don't have to hear your name or self-imposed title anymore. The longer you carry on a 'secret' sales campaign, the worse this site will get.
You are a big reason DIGG has gone down the tubes. Sorry, but it's true. And it all started the day you began deleting accounts to censor speech. So, do us all a favor, sell DIGG, take your money, and GO AWAY. Please, free DIGG. - Frostman3D, on 12/27/2007, -0/+1Why not? I like people, but If I owned a site like this and could get 200million or so out of it, I could get over it.
- siekosunfire, on 12/28/2007, -0/+1"Worship your worthless ***** dollar."
You're right, next time, I'll ask for Euros. - rommie, on 12/27/2007, -0/+1It isn't. It's just showing you the complete title of the original article.
- Maynza, on 12/28/2007, -0/+1Uh no, I'm gonna go with, "Selling the company."
