- kevinrose, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5We are adding the option to slow down the scrolling in the near future. Also, if you see something you like just press the pause button!
- Elxx, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Oh, and I was thinking that it would be nice if the refreshing paused when you have your cursor over a story. Then it continues when you move away. That way, we won't be rushing to click something quickly when we see it.
- ers35, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I'd like to see people say:
"Old Digg"
Then link to the story, not realizing this is the official digg. - catullus, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1maybe it's just me, but i'm not so sure i see the point in this feature too much. the most dugg stories are always going to be on the front page (or backlog pages of the front page for older FP stories), and you can kinda see what diggs are getting alot of attention anyway just by looking at the first couple pages in the queue, ... so i dunno what's really the point of Digg Spy in general..
however the ability to see what stories are being reported and why, is cool and a good improvement - EmileVictor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Aren't we overlooking the fact that this was submitted by kevin rose himself? You're treating it like al the other spam stories about this. Good job on the new version, digg admins.
- Metal_Hurlant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Darn those half-baked web 2.0 apps!@!!
- time-based ui, as in "take too long to click on a link, and you'll have to aim again". This is a big no-no for many reasons, including accessibility.
- no keyboard navigation, which could have helped mitigate the time-based UI wackiness.
- no way to save settings over time (hint: cookies are your friends.)
That said, it's cool.
I should look at how the data is getting pushed. It wouldn't be hard to have some infamous "web 2.0 scalability issues (TM)" when doing something like this. - 70ny, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's great if you want to see only NEW stories or you can watch stories with new comments. This is cool. It's hard to keep up with if everything is checked.
- oneSaint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0
1 MILLION DIGGS! OH MY!
where'd those sleek ass buttons go? :( - Llan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Really nice! Thanks!
- grantmiller, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Are there any other new features being released soon?
- znxster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0hehe +old news +dupe .. and isn't this just some internal +spam too?? hehe
+digg.. you guys are always improving things... - zizzybaloobah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How 'bout the adding the ability to vary the update speed - as others have mentioned, it updates so quickly it's nearly impossible to click a link before it moves (or fades away). Pause is cumbersome to use if you have scroll to get to it.
- eyesx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0More Digg Tools
http://pchere.blogspot.com/2005/09/complete-digg-tools-collection.html - conedude13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hasn't Digg Spy been around long enough to not be called new anymore? It still says new next to it on the front page.
- citizensagainst, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0blah blah, yadda yadda. When are the new categories coming out? That seems more improtant. Or a comment rating that just says, "ok, this is lame" like in the post pull-down menu? And yes, go ahead and say you wish you could score my comment as "lame"--very clever.
- thereisnospoon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Adding the number of comments for each story would be nice... Please?
- crazaalex, on 10/12/2007, -2/+21337core beat me to it.
- kash, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I think most ppl will agree that it moves too quickly (although it is interesting to see somewhat real-time digg rates). How about an automatic pause if the mouse cursor is within the digg-spy rectangular area? That way when you move the mouse in to click on a link, the scrolling stops completely.
Thoughts? - lifesun1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Any chance we can get a OS X widget for this...I suppose a Konfabulator widget would be OK too....
- silentj47, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Very nice + Digg
Adds a whole new level to the digg site. - furiouszebra, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Great job on this. My only problem is that I find it near impossible to click on the links to the stories because they move so fast.
- treelovinhippie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Actually on second thoughts its a pretty neat little feature. ... how about making it so you can scroll down the list or a speed adjuster (it tends to go pretty fast).
... would still like to see some new features such as more user-user interactivity... a specialised video section etc - nifixx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i don't see why this would have to make the front page if you can easily look to the right and see "NEW!" in red.
- TRUEPATRIOT, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0DUPE! =)
- ericpp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Whoa! Information Overflow!
This is a cool feature and all, but when are you going to add in missing functionality like a 'preview' button for comments or maybe the ability to edit a story you've submitted...? - Daikun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow! This is awesome!
- zakharm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It looks awesome kev ( can i call you kev?), but can you slow it down?
maybe a nice little ajax slider that you can set your SpySpeed.
i can't even catch them to click on. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This page is extremely cool.
- mike_c, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0http://digg.com/software/Digg_Spy_2.0:_Overview_of_New_Features
- 5blocksfree, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Interesting feature. I'd like to see the number of comments as part of the info associated with each line item.
- MicahC, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Great job!
Have you guys thought of digg mobile, you know, digg.com on the cell phone. That would be cool! - dharm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0digg is awesome... but i dont think they should be getting the credit...
this is all AJAX... and its appear effect module - prestonspcworx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0nice! good job digg admin. keep up the good work!!!
- TinMan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0You can pause it if you want to.
- CRASSPUNXTEXHTV, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0this is linking to a blog
how come when a random person links to a blog everyone submits it as lame but when keivin submits a link to a blog every one diggs it
+digg - kevin2735, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I just watched the Diggnation podcast toilet video from Japan... I am scratching my head wondering how two guys like that are smart enough to come with shet like this? Good job guys, merry christmas.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"this is linking to a blog
how come when a random person links to a blog everyone submits it as lame but when keivin submits a link to a blog every one diggs it
+digg"
For the same reason I can do whatever the ***** I want to on *my* site and people can either accept it or leave, I would presume. - dharm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i said it was lame... lol.. but just because of the comments... go look up some AJAX documents, and effect.appear, and you can do this too...
- lambda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow, this is amazing!
- tastypastry, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I completely agree with Catullus also.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I can't wait for stuff like this to be implemented into website forums. Wouldn't it be cool to see forum posts and topics appear in real-time.
- slipsec, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Impressive... saw story on Spy 2.0, dugg from 2.0 and watched it climb to the front page and on.
and digg/dugg are now in the spellchecker :) - 4ndr3w, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0awesome!
- fightstrife, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0LOLS report FTW.
This feature is cool, now if there would be some method of putting that same effect to work right on my desktop. - dpknc84, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0@Room101
I tend to agree. I liked the previous design styling. This new look doesn't mesh well. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Great!
- Guspaz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I don't like it. It moves so fast it is impossible to follow it. I prefer the old Digg Spy because it gave you at least 10 seconds or so in which to scan the headlines and click on interesting ones.
With the new Digg Spy, CLICKING on something is almost impossibly because they move down so fast. - treelovinhippie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Is that "THE SPECIAL ULTRA COOL NEW FEATURE"????!!!
... not that great in my books - DECjr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Nice but the "real-time" scrolling is distracting. I find myself using the "pause" button all too often. Digg, can you add a 5-10 sec delay before scrolling/shifting the content?
cheers - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0dupe mr k rose we found this thing a wile back next timehide it better but u still rock my socks

What is Digg?
