- TheTrueSora, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Digg is NOT sponsorned by GoDaddy - Diggnation, which is owned by an entirely different company (Revision3) is, but not Digg.
- saintwanker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2gotta love those who argue just for the sake of arguing.

a script kiddy - Craig1394, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Aren't we done with this DoS attack crap yet?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hello and welcome to Diggnation episode number 23, this podcast is sponsored by GoDaddy.com, it goes when you don't know it.
- trogdoor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"So this didn't include Domain Names or it did"
I am not quite sure what you are trying to ask but I think the answer is no.
Domain names are held in DNS servers wich are totally seperate from GoDaddy's hosting servers. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There hosting does suck from a support and control panel stand point but I recently signed up for two of their hosting packages. $10 for 500GB of bandwidth is hard to beat. Great for my media web site but it would suck for pretty much anything else.

Oh well; love is love. - Pyroboy1080, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1check the whois for digg.com
- Bluezdood, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Who would Ddos GoDaddy.com? Kind of funny I must admit.
- trogdoor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I have been hearing a lot about GoDaddy's great commercials but I have yet to see one anyone have a link.
- TGDuff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This must have been the 0.1% in their 99.9% uptime guarantee.
- Stentorian, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My 1and1.com sites (4 in total) were down for nearly 3 days last weekend. The package I have with 1and1 is equivalent to the 3.99 one at godaddy (250GB bandwidth), except its 1 dollar less. I know 2.99 doesn't afford me much room to complain..but 3 days is ridiculous.
- mooseman089, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Here is the link to their site with with some of their commercials http://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/superbowl05/landing.asp?se=%2B
- spadin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Domains don't go down when a registrar goes down. Unless your nameserver was pointing to GoDaddy, your domain should have worked. This includes web sites hosted by GoDaddy and webpages parked at GoDaddy. If your domain was not working and it's neither parked nor hosted at GoDaddy then it was a completely different issue.
- Teratogen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I host a couple of domain names with godaddy and I have no complaints at all.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0pipdipchip said: $10 for 500GB of bandwidth is hard to beat.
Yeah, but just hope you never get duggdotted (Or whatever the term is). My site was hosted at godaddy, and then I got dugg. Turns out that what they DONT tell you is that you can only have 50 simultaneous requests for your website at a time. Definitly will NOT cope with large demand, even if you dont exceed your bandwidth. Godaddy's shared hosting is for lightweight sites, with NO traffic. - dinki, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I host two sites with GoDaddy and have had no problems with them.
- trogdoor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thanks digraven
- DigiRaven, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0never had a problem with godaddy for 3 years until this morning. who has time to continue to attack a registar? Do these people have lives?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0down* err, lost my thought.
- troydoogle7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I support Godaddy, they have a great support structure, We should support them for not paying off those dos extortionists.
- gavreh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0i was looking for this story! my sites and godaddy.com was down this morning . . . i was wondering. Thanks!
- JaggedEdge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Thats horrible...***** script kiddies.
- autobahn, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Someone was asking why someone would hit godaddy with DoS attacks.
Well, there have been extortion attempts in the past, and beyond that, the guy who runs GoDaddy is a right-winger who has advocated torture in his 'blog. So I'm sure some of the DoS attacks are political in nature. - Durrok, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Heared nothing but good things about them until now, and their commercials are awesome :p
- patrickweber, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So this didn't include Domain Names or it did?
- jhunt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hmm, didn't notice my site was down, but then again I was driving to work when it happened.
- genen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yup - my site was down this morning...
- fanboy00, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1"Digg is NOT sponsorned by GoDaddy - Diggnation, which is owned by an entirely different company (Revision3) is, but not Digg."
But kevin rose sits on the board of directors for both Revision3 and Digg. - IraqManiac, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I really wish people would just grow up and NOT DDOS people's websites. Low-life losers
now maybe the G4-TechTV merger was ok, but lame for-no-reason DDoS attacks are just lame... You're just not cool. - snapya, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0pwned
- thisnameisfake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0So this wouldn't be news if it didn't have something to do with Digg? "you can't stop hax0rs." You can't stop peole from typing like that either. I can only hope those people get hit by a bus.
- audiocollective, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0it's all because of the Sony Rootkit!
- Meowmix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I have 2 domains and the $3.99 (then $6) plan, and am very happy with them.
I pretty much just use my webspace for storage of files, so the plan is great. - joehobbes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+01 hour isn't that big of deal unless you're a huge site.
My site is hosted by them and I never noticed. - Mabeshark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0thetruesora (1): Digg is NOT sponsorned by GoDaddy - Diggnation, which is owned by an entirely different company (Revision3) is, but not Digg.
Indeed. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0you can't stop hax0rs.
- natemc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0no wonder it was so damn slow when I was trying to update some domain info. I'd never host my site with them though, lousy plans for the money.
- kyl3Full3r, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah but, Revision 3 is owned by Kevin Rose and so is Digg....
- Sh|fty, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0There was a large string of DOS's attacks this morning, godaddy.con was hit, http://hostable.biz was hit and a range of other large hosting providers were hit.
- nothingbutBS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Well, there have been extortion attempts in the past, and beyond that, the guy who runs GoDaddy is a right-winger who has advocated torture in his 'blog. So I'm sure some of the DoS attacks are political in nature."
Here's his story about that. He does NOT support torture.
http://www.bobparsons.com/HowtostirupahornetsnestAself-reviewofmyrecentblogarticlePlusRadioGoDaddysnextshow.html?serendipity[searchTerm]=torture - hammerattack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0GoDaddy rocks. I have about four domains registered through them, including my personal website and a number of web design clients. Like any WHP they have their minor quirks, but they are minor at best. So if they wen't down for one stinking hour today, I'm still way ahead with them compared to just about any other hosting provider I've ever used.
- Philbert, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I only use them for a domain. Didn't notice if my site went down or not, as long as it works now I'm happy.
- nlatimer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My only problem with GoDaddy is thier stupid name.
- LukeDashJr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0GoDaddy sucks; I transferred away from them last renewal.
- rookworm, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Digg it, the more diggs, the more glaring the omission on Diggnation
- yaizle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Godaddy hosting sucks, they suspended my account 2 days after I bought it. They said I am using lots of their cpu resources, and then I emailed and tried to called them several times, and they said I can not get my suspended account back, but I am welcome to purchase a new hosting plan. WTF.
- ptknight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0DOS v7.0 rocks
- soros, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Whats the deal? My dns provider, easydns.ca, has been going through the same problems recently. Here's a blog from one of the employees and their recent troubles with the script kiddies (are they really? or is this something more sosphisticated?)
