- awm4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I disagree.
I rather enjoyed the ranking system. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Buried by the Digg staff, just like every other story about this. Digg is NOT a democracy.
- alej744, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I like this idea.
- awm4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Also the number of profile views is gone.
And if you edit your profile you have an option to list the comments by order of popularity - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I'm pretty sure Kevin Rose, as the founder and the face of the company still calls all of the shots at Digg.
- IvanB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I don't really feel like submitting anymore. Why the ***** should I anyway? That was my only form of reward, and now it's gone. I don't see how this decision will fight the gaming problem on Digg. I hope Kevin decides to bring the list back.
- Yodacola, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I concur. Digg has just made every user faceless. I think Digg just axed it's userbase today. Change like this doesn't exactly help with Digg's mission statement either.
- 7of7, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I like the idea of getting rid of the ranking system. It's not a pissing contest, it's a website for aggregating interesting information.
- ryland2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this will in no way hamper the 3rd party lists... they don't run off that number, but rather the # of homepage total...
- UglieJosh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There was a big group of gamers that seem to have disappeared............... Only to be replaced with smaller groups.
Anyone who, like me, obsessively uses the "upcoming stories" portion of BigSpy will have noticed the growing power of a roup of conservative Diggers that have nearly gotten' a few liberal bashing stories to the front page. I have no problem with the stories, but they are being brought up by the same means that the new system was implemented to stop.
This group of Neocon Gamers is starting to make me miss the old socialst, athiest tech-geek gamers we had before................. - johngardiner, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3firstly.. im sure it wasnt just kevin rose that made that decision.. there are other people at digg... and secondly no they didnt the move made a lot of sense
- BenFaist, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2yeah- I like to base my opinions on what others think...I can't think for myself
What is Digg?
