businessweek.com — Over the last few years, Digg has become Silicon Valley's version of the boy who cried wolf. Like the child who warned local villagers that a wolf was about to attack his flock of sheep, potential buyers of Digg have repeatedly leaked reports that the company was about to be sold, but a sale was never consummated.

    Adelson says that Digg is now considering making its own acquisitions. Although Digg is not in discussions to close a deal, Adelson says he is looking for companies to acquire. "There are Digg clones around the world in every country," says Adelson. "I could go into those markets and clean up those sites. If I needed more capital to do a deal, I could probably do it."

    What keeps me coming back is the news submitted by the community, the UI, and the comments and reactions to the items posted.

Even though I've come to realize 4chan is older and surely has monster traffic, digg is way more mainstream (unfortunatly at this point) but that gives it its value.
