- strictnein, on 11/21/2007, -0/+4Ok, I just realized you're talking about Reddit, and I'm talking about the article, which you clearly haven't read or looked at.

I don't know about you but I visit them to read the articles. You know, all those things on the main page? I prefer Reddit because I'm not freaking logged out every 2 minutes.
OMFG! I had to re-log in to submit this and I've logged in 3 times in the last 10 minutes! "Your session has expired, please refresh the page before commenting."
Yeah, and refresh does ***** all. Do the programmers here not have one iota of programming knowledge? It's called the session model. Read up on it. It's not rocket science because no other site of this type does this. It's ***** infuriating. If you can't hire real programmers then hire a real development manager that will fire the current staff and hire people that know wtf they're doing. - mysteri0usdrx, on 11/21/2007, -0/+3The three main reasons why I personally prefer reddit to digg:
1. You can have a 500 comment thread going, and it will lag less than a 50 comment digg thread.
2. While the dig main page isn't bad, the reddit one goes right to the point, showing you more stories on the front page in a smaller area, while still being easier to read.
3. It allows you to see from your profile how your comments were modded up and down, and gives you notification of a reply to a comment you make.
I'm not saying digg is bad, hell I use it every day. All I'm saying is that digg could use some improvement, and reddit is a good place to look for inspiration. - mrbubbleboy, on 11/20/2007, -0/+3I love Reddit. Like DiffeeOnline said, its very newbie friendly. That was my first social media site that I got really into before moving on into Digg and Stumble.
- mysteri0usdrx, on 11/21/2007, -1/+3What on earth are you talking about. the only mouseovers are the 5 buttons on the top for the various categories, and they go from light blue to blue.
- strictnein, on 11/21/2007, -1/+3omg... that site has some of the worst mouseovers in the history of mankind. If you're in a room that's somewhat dark, it's actually a little painful to your eyes.
- strictnein, on 11/21/2007, -1/+3Anything in (blockquote) has a horrible hover effect in Firefox. For instance, the text that starts as "I just wanted to say hello. I’ve been marginally active in Reddit for a little while. Lately, I’ve started to become"
- ikesauto, on 11/21/2007, -1/+3I never checked that site but you can bet I will now.
- strictnein, on 11/21/2007, -1/+3it also occurs in IE7
- inactive, on 11/20/2007, -0/+2Reddit is one of Digg's biggest competitors. Their format is much less socially oriented, but there are huge advantages. Content that is absolutely great can rise to the top algorithmically (is that a word?) while it needs a human touch for Propeller and cannot be done on Digg without something earth-shattering. Someone brand new with no friends but great submissions can make it on reddit. Hard to do on Propeller. Nearly impossible on Digg. That's my two cents.
Please vote for and read the article. It's good. Funny part is, it isn't going anywhere on Reddit itself. I submitted it, but it keeps getting "down-modded", probably by those who do not want the "secret" out. It ain't the da Vinci Code or area 51, but apparently, there are a lot of Redditers who don't want this info out. Special thanks to qgyh2 for being a good sport about it all and offering a nobody on reddit some advice.
For those who don't know, qgyh2 is Reddit's version of MrBabyMan. Top reddit dude. More "karma" gained in a day than most get in months. - mysteri0usdrx, on 11/21/2007, -1/+2Wow yeah I see what you are talking about now. That's pretty freakin' bad.
