- TimmyGUNZ, on 01/25/2008, -7/+561Seriously, if you're a "veteran digger" and you're letting new algorithms have an impact on your life, you are a sad, pathetic human being that needs to get off the computer and get a breath of fresh air.
- CaptainNoPants, on 01/25/2008, -4/+417There was a revolt last night? Doesn't anyone have anything better to do?
- EvilAnimator, on 01/25/2008, -10/+369Diggtards are some of the biggest crybabies on the internet.
- NinjaPirateDude, on 01/25/2008, -2/+315if the "top diggers" truly submitted stories that were good and were truly to the interest of digg users they would appreciate changes to the algorithm that made it a requirement to have diverse diggers digg up the story.
- Araxen, on 01/25/2008, -1/+212What Digg revolt last night?!?
- Jesse, on 01/25/2008, -2/+203This is what happens when people get caught up in the bubble of their online lives. If the "top diggers" had a mass exodus from the site, you know what would happen? Not a damn thing.
- fkr3, on 01/25/2008, -12/+185The internet taught them they have infinite rights and power.... and then gave them an opportunity to look like idiots. Digg's got heaps of users... if a few leave who gives a crap? The top diggers are only top diggers because they submit a stream of ***** validating some silly belief the kidiots have.... "OMG RON PAUL IS GOD".... "APPLE PATENT SUGGESTS THEY WILL GIVE YOU A BLOWJOB" etc.
- LetsGoHokies, on 01/25/2008, -1/+172So some guys were going to boycott Digg? How exactly does that A) hurt Digg in general B) hurt me as a reader of Digg. I can tell you that I have never looked at who submitted a story, but maybe that's just me. I'm just here for the articles.
- GinsuGuy585, on 01/25/2008, -8/+167That's not a revolt... THIS is a revolt!

Simple solution: Don't show the username of the submitter. Problem solved. - yourmartdotnet, on 01/25/2008, -2/+113this is almost as funny as wikipedia's "editors" maybe the super users and wiki editors should join forces and create a user driven news archive that anyone can edit and by anyone I mean the 30 people who live and breath this *****
- UtahApocalyse, on 01/25/2008, -2/+111Only revolt I have seen is the Anon posts.
- inactive, on 01/25/2008, -1/+98DUGG FOR THE TRUTH
- booboolean, on 01/25/2008, -2/+86But that would ruin the circle-jerk!
- Error601, on 01/25/2008, -5/+88Little dorks tend to use a lot of hyperbole to make the silly thing they're doing sound important.
- inactive, on 01/25/2008, -3/+79It's a well-known fact that the so-called "Top Diggers" spend most of their time looking at other people's submissions, then creating Dupe articles that they push to the front page via their army of Circle-Jerk morons on their Friends list. MrBabyMan and his ilk could vanish tomorrow, and nobody would notice. We'd still get the same articles. The only difference would be that we wouldn't have to endure Pizzler's weekly "legalize pot" threads, or MrBabyMan's compulsive shilling for Cracked.com. I have no idea why Digg caters to these sniveling retards. They add nothing to the site that wouldn't have been there anyway, and in fact they DISCOURAGE people from finding and submitting diverse new articles, since everyone knows that whatever they submit will just be stolen and reposted anyway.
- inactive, on 01/25/2008, -10/+85I hope like hell that the new algorithm keeps all the stupid political stories from the front page. How many times do we have to read "impeach bush/cheney" over and over and over and over again.
- mille716, on 01/25/2008, -0/+71I'm ticked at the "top diggers" for being such ***** cry babies about all this but a lot of my rage is actually directed at all their "friends" who will just automatically digg whatever the hell they submit. Those idiot masses are who really hurt the site.
- themastersb, on 01/25/2008, -1/+69I didn't even know there was a revolt.
- xEn1gma, on 01/25/2008, -2/+63A revolt?
Hahahaha, tools. - inactive, on 01/25/2008, -4/+64Isn't that obvious? Most of hte top diggers do it because they get paid to do it. They have made a REALLY stupid career choice and chosen a job that relies on Digg to survive. (Never a good idea to have to rely on someone/something else so much to survive.) These people suddenly saw their entire career, possibly their lives crumble before them a couple days ago. Suddenly they went from making a pretty good living to the prospect of making virtually nothing. Chances are they are also not prepared for a real job, so they tried to force Digg to return to what they desperately need to stay off welfare.
- vonskippy, on 01/25/2008, -2/+57Warped egos? Over valuation of self worth? No real life or social skills outside of the online pseudo-world?
Who really knows or cares. Personally I was hoping the gutless wonders (i.e. the "digg elite") would of had the balls to actually boycott the site. It would have been fun to watch them back peddle and waffle when the world doesn't crumble and a wider variety of articles appear on Digg's front page. - ascott9, on 01/25/2008, -0/+53I totally agree. I find it annoying that a posse of people control most of what shows up on digg's frontpage. I don't know much about the whole situation but that is what I have always assumed.
- typicalusername, on 01/25/2008, -1/+52Yeah! Where the hell was the memo to the rest of us? Elitist bastards!
- plbland, on 01/25/2008, -2/+52I'm guessing the change had an impact on the little pissants income stream.
- sq2shooter, on 01/25/2008, -1/+47If you get pissed over changes on a free internet site, you are a retard. Top Diggers ought to be aware if they left today this site would hardly change tomorrow. You would still get the same stories submitted, only by someone else. I think they way overestimate how important they are here.
- foxter, on 01/25/2008, -7/+53When reading articles like this one, you need to ask what everyone's motivating factors are...
- adroit, on 01/25/2008, -1/+46Who cares about the top diggers anyways? no one does because they have no life.
- inactive, on 01/25/2008, -4/+49Wow, losers.
- TrevorBelmont, on 01/25/2008, -0/+45I think we'd be better off without the "top diggers".
Hey, Kevin! Next time let them leave.
I don't give a ***** what a small handful of strangers who figured out how to play the system think is important news. I never submit stories because I don't have "the juice" to get the word out. Screw this high school bull *****. - Error601, on 01/25/2008, -3/+45Good example of silly hyperbole.
- socalrob, on 01/25/2008, -1/+40Damn I slept through the revolution... Why wasn't this crap televised? Coulda Tivo'd it then while I was out having a life.
- SpectralSounds, on 01/25/2008, -0/+37This is pathetic. Kevin and Jay should have just let them throw their little hissy fit, like the ***** spoiled brats they are. Buncha losers all sucking each others *****. Turns out they got just what they wanted in the end. Diggs higher ups kissing their asses like the little bitches they are. Have some self respect Kevin and Jay.
- coldman, on 01/25/2008, -2/+39how so? they're all digging and submitting today, i don't see or hear anything about a boycott anymore
- coheedcollapse, on 01/25/2008, -2/+39Wow. The top Diggers are starting to sound like a bunch of children. I'm sorry, but when someone exploiting the friend system (by exploiting I mean adding literally everyone no matter their interests and alignments just to get story exposure) has an almost 100% guarantee of hitting the front page with anything remotely interesting while a very interesting article can go unnoticed if it comes from someone who truly befriends only those who interest them, there's something wrong. The algorithm fixed an inherent flaw in the system and they're whining about it. Not saying they don't submit quality stuff, I'm just saying they shouldn't be boycotting something that evens out the playing field.
- saturnx8, on 01/25/2008, -2/+39so revolt and get the hell off of digg you dorks. I can't stand what 98% of the crap you guys submit you giant douche bags.
- chemdiva, on 01/25/2008, -0/+37and invective.
and yeah, i made that comment just because i like the word invective. - Error601, on 01/25/2008, -3/+38Turn off the political categories in your profile. Politics + Internet has always been a worthless combination.
- dainBramage, on 01/25/2008, -0/+35Go ahead and leave. I never even look to see who submitted a story. I wouldn't notice anything if they did leave.
- Bridea, on 01/25/2008, -0/+34yawn
- thatsmyaibo, on 01/25/2008, -2/+35In my opinion if digg want QUALITY front page stories, they would block the submitters names and disallow shouts. That way people digg up on quality and not submitter popularity.
- inactive, on 01/25/2008, -1/+34Good for you Jay! Bout time someone put those whiners in their place.
- ZeroVector, on 01/25/2008, -3/+36Digg should ban the top 3 anyway. The site would be better without them.
- ericdano, on 01/25/2008, -1/+33Digg used to be a good place to find interesting links. Now, it's stupid videos, and stupid pictures, and links that really suck......I should start frequenting other places.
- technoredneck, on 01/25/2008, -1/+33The top diggers are using hyperbole in some kind of desperate attempt to get the algorithm change back in their favor. There was no revolt. If they want to see revolt, they look at all of the Scientology stuff on Digg right now. If they're Digg vetrans, they can easily look back on HD-DVD night for a second (probably better and more accurate) example.
- Navicerts, on 01/25/2008, -0/+31New top diggers would happen.
- fkr3, on 01/25/2008, -1/+31Is that why they call themselves Social Media Consultants (ahahahahahhahahahaha) and write spam for adwhore blogs who request it purely because they know it'll hit the front page of digg and rack up a hundred thousand ad impressions?
- CaptainNoPants, on 01/25/2008, -2/+32Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
- Daniel591992, on 01/25/2008, -3/+33Have you ever seen Mr. BabyMan?
http://www.flickr.com/photo_zoom.gne?id=466826912& ...
He looks like he gets all the ladies! - inactive, on 01/25/2008, -5/+33especially evidenced by the fact that right now 8 out of the top 10 stories are about scientology

What is Digg?
