http://digg.com/users/supernova17 - bofhcabbit, on 10/12/2007, -3/+14The "proof" mentioned in the headline is really no proof at all, sadly. This is a promising beginning, but any 'proof' needs a sample size of buries that's several orders of magnitude larger than what's used.
- SvetlanaG, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8What is Digg for if it is not about freedom any more? It looks like actul votes do not make any difference now here.
- canewediggit, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8"However, don’t take this list as the truth"- because it's INACCURATE. so now you're posting incorrect data with my name on it for articles i didn't bury. as noted- http://digg.com/tech_news/Digg_s_Bury_Data_Exposed#c5459347 this data is wrong. i don't go around posting false info about your data, so until you guys get the CORRECT data, quit posting inaccuracies with my name on it.
- koregaonpark, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Welcome back, Karim! Digg just wasn't the same without you. :-D
- Midcen43, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2SOLUTION: I think the solution to some peoples griping is that there should be a limit of buries for each user per day. It may not be a full solution but possibly a temporary solution.
- CarbonEclectic, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I sadly must agree (diggs up bofhcabbit's comment), but this story at least provides the tools to catch a "bury brigade."
- flashback99, on 08/10/2008, -0/+1why so few comments?
- OrangeTide, on 11/18/2008, -0/+1I admit it, I wrote some scripts to operate 30 digg accounts simultaneously. all it takes is about 30 coordinated buriers to shovel enough negatives on for a significant group of people to just "join in the fun" and bury every post as well. A lot of casual diggers thing the "bury brigade" is a club you can join by simply burying when you see a lot of negative diggs. And I suppose in a way this is really how it works, even though it was never my intention for the burybots to operate this way.
- philbutler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Reminds me of a game lobby - banned by admin for camping lol
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Hi. I am number one on the ‘Top 50' buriers on digg. One morning, I started burying all Sony PS3 and Wii related articles because I was absolutely sick of hearing the fanboyism. Simply put: the fact that the Wii is selling better than the PS3, or that it has a new game on their Virtual Console is not front page news. The ‘Bury Brigade’ does not exist because we do not bury the same stories in coordination. In order for a true Bury Brigade to exist, the same stories must be buried in unison within a short amount of time to avoid the popularity that comes with being on the front page. All of the buries on the list are isolated except for the ones we found to be ‘universally lame’. Also, the list of 1700 buries is only of a 2 hour window, which is not representative of the overall digg story submission process. Each one of these stories could still reach the front page. However, I have resolved to stop burying stories without merit immediately. Thanks for your time.

This is the freaking point of why you Bury Brigade dudes are simply jerks: You don't bury a story just because you don't like it. There are legitimate reasons for burying a story, but "I don't like it" is just not one of them. Thanks for admitting your motive, though. - QueenDoc, on 01/18/2008, -1/+0The only reason this is even flying around, is because people want Digg to not seem as reliable outlet for the the general populations opinion, therefore they can completely ignore the so called "Revolution" with candidate campaigning (RP). Ignore this, don't talk about it, don't even Bury it. Its ***** anyway. The mere fact that were paying so much attention to it and not the important issues at hand means "they" won.
- miketrin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Are we still meeting at denny's tonight?
- Midcen43, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0People people please the evidence is no evidence at all what they want to do is criticize Digg and its community so that Digg and its communiy of users get offended and what to dig it down and once it is dug down the people will say it was dug because it showed that the article being dug down IS the proof but in reality it is ONLY getting dug down because it offends us. Reddit sucks. Digg digs.
- Namco, on 10/12/2007, -4/+2Buried. These diggspiracies are pissing me off. I don't usually bury stories, but this line of ***** deserves it.
- Midcen43, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0the comment by namco proves My theory that what these people are trying to do is piss us Digg users off and we want to dig down the conspiracy and then the creators of the conspiracy will point and say look it was dug down by the Brigade or somewhat. I say NO to that what really dugg it down was merely a pissed off community. It is like going to a catholic website and saying catholics should be punished and when the catholics remove your comment you will point and say look there is a crazy brigade there. There i say No again just a community of offended and pissed off users. No offense to catholics i am catholic and go to a catholic school im just giving an example. Reddit sucks! Digg digs!
