Advertising on the web is a necessity to keep sites like this one alive. This is a good opportunity to tailor what gets seen and what gets the axe while benefiting all parties involved.
At the end of the day, AdBlocker will do all the work for you and this seems like a pretty easy system to game. Most ads will probably get buried anyway. Much like this comment. Cue the brigade.- fuxxx, on 06/04/2009, -0/+1Okay but if you're going to implement what is a fairly intrusive advertising programme, you need to cater for those who will be turned off by that kind of advertising by having a paid for 'no ads' feature.
Of course I wouldn't spend any kind of significant money to have no ads, but if it was just a one-off $10 I'd do it in a heartbeat. - lyonzy90, on 06/04/2009, -0/+210 bucks says all the ads will get buried heaps, raising prices. Digg win!
