- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+41Now I just need some friends!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+22When Digg added user-moderation to comments, they signed Slashdot's death warrant.
Go Digg! - jeolmeun, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12Don't forget to http://digg.com/software/Befriend_yourself_and_see_your_comments_highlighted_in_green
- superalamar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I actually like both and can't comprehend the digg/slashdot/fark brand loyalty people display...
- jeolmeun, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Maybe groups would be better than friends. Would be nice to see how different groups digg stories and comments. Then have a frontpage according to the group.
- superalamar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8i just added you both as friends as I don't have anyone either...
- jayadelson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7We fixed it. Sorry!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Except that slash learned early on that unlimited mod points lead to all kinds of distortions. Also, there is no metamoderation to keep people from acting the fool and going mod crazy. It does not appear that you can get replies to your comments emailed to you. The threading only goes one deep.
The list goes on and on but really, seriously, digg's commenting code is very primitive compare to slashcode (except for the ajaxy goodness). - diecastbeatdown, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6cool. i requested this feature some months ago. looks like many others did also. there are only a handful of people that continually find good stories and checking out their diggs is worth tracking.
- Tobey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6And would you please reply to his comment instead of making a new one? We have this great threaded system now. I think people should start using it.
- misterpony, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6The easy link to your friends queue diggs is a great addition. Thanks Digg!
- TigerClaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6Is anyone else besides me having trouble staying logged in on Digg? The moment I close the browser then open it again and going to digg.com, I have to login everytime, Even though I have it set to log me in everytime once entering the site. For some reason its not logging me back into my account everytime I visit digg.com after closing the browser, It's happening on both IE and Firefox here.
- jtrost, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6We should start a "People with no friends" club =)
- theprez, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Now we can spy more on Kevin and Alex.
- jayadelson, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Sorry. Fixed!
- skeeto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4That's pretty cool. I missed this one. Thanks for reposting the link.
- sosuke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3/sniff
now even digg reminds me i have no friends - misterpony, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Also don't forget: http://digg.com/technology/Digg_Friends_Checker_-_Who_has_you_as_a_friend_on_digg_
- ThePhilomath, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Awesome, thanks for the tip off! Digg should highlight ones own comments already, but this is the next best thing.
- TheAttacks, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Digg needs a way to track people who have added you. I believe it was snipehack who came up with the friend finder, but that doesn't always work. We need someway to add people, sort of like adding someone on Myspace, but with different intensions.
- Zeerus, on 10/12/2007, -4/+6you're succeeding
on another note, I think this is a great addition and I'm happy to see the site continuously grow. Slashdot has nothing on Digg - xLiKx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2lovely, i can stalk people i add to my list :D
- timdorr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2You've been able to track friends for a while. I've had Kevin as my "friend" for a good amount of time. Comments friends digg are marked in green and stories dugg have a little green sash thingy on them.
But it's nice to see all your friend's activity at a glance. - misterpony, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2If you see a comment or article you like, just add that person and send them an email telling them so (by looking for their blog/email in their profile). I've done this a few times and have gotten a good response from a couple cool people who also seem to digg articles I do (thanks geekologist and clumsyninja!).
- hadiz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Is this why I've been repeatedly signed out today, and had to sign in multiple times for the cookies to work?
- domr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm not entirely sure I *want* random people adding and tracking me.
- TigerClaw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Its been happening today as well, Its happening on Firefox and IE also, Somethings screwy with there login system, Even with the cookies set and the saved password, It still woudn't login everytime I visit the site.
- fishlabs, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Awesome feature guys! Great work as usual. I think I speak on everyone's behalf when I say, thanks for all the hard work, you guys have built an incredible site/service/interface. What's next ?
- lalindsey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Nice! Just wondering - sometimes on these posts the "reply" link is missing from other people's comments . . . is that just me?
Anyway, I just wanted to say I agree with the person above who mentioned groups and group tracking - fgb00, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Same problem here. IE has gotten really bad. It forgets who I am right after I log in. I haven't changed any browser settings, nor do I have any of the same issues with other sites.
The other problem I see occasionally is that I click on "Digg It", it goes through its little animation, but the number of diggs stays the same.
I wish they would fix some of these problems before adding new features. - detrate, on 10/12/2007, -6/+8if digg users are as intelligent as I hope, they'd make an effort to keep your comment at +1
- sosuke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2already i have one friend, thanks for the advise pony
- tehfink, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2when will we get enemy tracking? those are a lot easier to makeā¦
- Kitsune818, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Begging for some, actually.. I see it as a flaw too. It's not exactly explicit what the friends mechanism is for, and how you are supposed to populate it. I don't know if it is supposed to be people I actually know in person, or just people who's comments I enjoy. Sort of nebulous.
- lalindsey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1And now it's back . . . haha.
- TheAttacks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I think he means "will we ever see a story about digg that isn't promoted to the front page, on digg?"
- tylerni7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Yea, digg desperately needs a better way to make friends. Someone start a digg story or something to make friends... I wouldn't be suprised if it made the front page...
- nuxx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1this would be great, if there were anyone ON my friends list...and i agree with tommstein, we need a way to see who's 'friended' us, like on LiveJournal.
- CoffeeCup, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ya that friend stalker.. uh I mean friend tracker is creepy. If my girlfriend wants to stalk me on the net I would at least like to make her work at it a little bit.
- jayboogie, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I need a friend :(
- oldcyborg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That was weird!! I started out to find the new tool, and ended up watching the Roomba thing in WikiPedia!!!
I have no idea how I got there... NONE.
Must be my bedtime, or something..
Neat Trick!!
Cyborg - Guder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1W. wants to add that soon...
lol well now it just needs to be made easier to add friends. either that or we have the "nobody loves me" syndrome going on. :-)> - liquidedge, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have no idea what activities on here convey the ability to actually find friends.
- Kitsune818, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Then why are you on a social website? Posting in the comments?
- Kitsune818, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I get that a lot.. I thought it was just me.
- Kitsune818, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I've been wondering how people managed to populate the friends list..
- misterpony, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1My reply link for top threads was also gone for awhile, but it came back after a refresh...
- cathode, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1There goes our privacy... is the government behind Digg?
- gODfall, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1O0ooh yay more screen stalkers.
- sarahb459, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pretty sweet!!! Now how can we track what our friends are doing on myspace... mwahhahahaha... (I'm the stalker type... nosey, whatever...)

What is Digg?
